@@Torinatorr Totally. Also i noticed that I can't use blaze away all the time, it only works for consecutive left click spamming when the heat level is 0. At high heat levels, we can maybe get 2-3 shots in a row. It's much more ideal for focusing on other things while you're in the middle of a fight and one shooting at a dangerous disabler or special.
I really like the gameplay.Its just a really nice extra visual thing to show off how good a build can be. Plus i kinda like watching Darktide gameplay as is so its a win win

I'm very far from a great (or even good) veteran, but I have a small correction to make on your knife info: 1) as I mentioned in another comment, the second (and third on the Mk6) heavy increase your movespeed while you hold them, and you can prolong them a bit by spamming the melee hotkey. You can test this with the "simple speed meter" mod that recently came out. I want to give credit to DotNL for this, they mentioned it on a comment in their most recent video. 2) the veteran is, in contrast to the zealot, actually able to permanently loop the push attack on both knives IF you take both stamina CDR nodes that veteran has. One is not enough, but both will do it. So on the IAG build my preference is to take the second stamina CDR over 10% toughness damage reduction in the bottom left. Is that a good choice? likely not, again, im an inexperienced player. But it feels good to play. For reference on numbers of the stamina CDR, I recommend kuli's steam guides; I would have never figured it out had I not seen the class base stats in it. Happy to retract my info if I end up being wrong, but I'm reasonably confident in both of these and have tested both extensively.
Thanks for the comprehensive guide. Have you tried running either of these builds with the other two IAGs? I get tired of running the Vraks V / Columnus all the time but it's hard to beat the rate of fire. Would swapping it out for the Graia necessitate any talent changes?
@fluffstalker nope I use both often, If u take the higher pen weapon I would just drop stripped down and onslaught entirely for the points/more damage and I find it much easier to deal with shooting galleries with those weapons so stripped down is less relevant for me
I never understood the volley adept plasma salesmen lol, it gets 30? 35? shots from a full battery. if that doesn't last until rush hour ends then either they're playing irresponsibly (forgetting to reload during downtime, reckless usage, not hitting oneshots, etc) or the situation is just so bad that the reload speed probably won't save em. and even if it would've, the situation comes up so rarely that its total value gets overshadowed by that of spending the point elsewhere. also, from what I've been told, longshot starts at the end of close range, which means it gives +0% dmg at 12m and scales linearly to +20% at 30m. most elites and specials become threats at (or simply enter the player's sightline at) medium-close range, 10-20m, where longshot gives barely any value. most conventional breakpoints are covered by perk selection, redirect fire, and the rest of the build, meaning the majority of longshot's value comes from hitting close forgiveness breakpoints like maniac+redirect fire flamer 1bodyshot (which competitive urge arguably already covers consistently enough), in which case jesus christ dude what are we running focus target for😭 focus target quickplayers hang onto their focus target stacks tighter than their shredders please just ping them it's free damage vet skill points are so goddamn valuable man i hate how figuring out point investment boils down to either nitpicking to minmax or just giving up, clicking some good talents, and forgetting about it. wish i had one or two extra points to work with.

It's just a vacuum in ogryn educational content. Tanner doesn't play him, telopots didn't upload ogryn vids for god knows how long (and his builds are more fun than meta if you ask me), Hank from ogrynomicon does only gunlugger builds from patch to patch. It's not that hard to play this class and do good results but I am surely willing to learn how to be better
bro i like everyone have no fucking clue what to do with ogryn, it's just okay at almost everything and most things work pretty well on it. i will look into it more, i at least have some generalist builds that work good, I use them in duos often enough I can say they're consistent and I will post them

I prefer knife over duelling sword on vet as well, but mostly because I feel I struggle with trash enemies with it on classes other than zealot for whatever reason.

I just abhor marksmans focus keystone. I'd rather take a bunch of damage nodes and play with no keystone rather than rely on something so conditional. With that said, I'm a recon lasgun player so i need the extra points anyway for like shock trooper
you know. i hate the plasagun. its too gimmicky, no feedback, sounds like a dry fart when shooting. imma stick to the bolter. should be good enough right? and slap puncture+shattering impact blessings? what perks for the bolter? i just use crit chance and unyielding damage.

you are correct, the first heavy does not, the second (and third in the case of Mk6) increase your movespeed and can be delayed a bit by spamming your melee hotkey (1 as a default) To see this most clearly, there's a recent mod on the nexus: "Simple Speed Meter" I was under the mistaken impression that even H1 accellerates before testing with it but its very obvious once you have numbers what works and what doesnt.
@laeni4139 great comment and something I should have discussed, I also primarily play with mk3 so this is lost on me to a degree. (Spamming heavies with m3 is faster than held, timer tests I've done have shown this but if I'm wrong let me know
@@Torinatorr I have not done timer tests on either weapon, but the raw speed value you can hold is significantly higher on held second heavies, even if you dont hold them for the maximum duration. There is a bunch of weird behavior with holding heavies with the melee spam trick, the game really doesn't like it when you do that. A few individual points: Spamming hard will put you back into H1, but you can delay a bit and still end up in the next attack in the chain. On the Mk3 there is a "third" heavy you can end up in, that looks like the first, but has increased movespeed. This one also weirdly ends in a L3 swing if you end it. Not quite sure what's happening at the moment. There is a fourth attack in this chain that ends in L4 in much the same way, that also has increased movespeed as expected (just tested this, still about as clueless as to the reason).
I actually did a fair amount of testing on this for my most recent vid- the way it works is your H1 still gives some speed boost in the drawing and thrusting of the blade, but holding offers no speed boost. The followup heavy chain (both H1 and H2) will provide a 20% movement speed boost as long as you hold the attack, and it keeps looping as long as you don't break the chain. The additional speed that you get from the completion of the attack is roughly countered by the slowdown while chaining the next attack. Best way to get the speed I've found is to throw L1->H2->H1->H2 etc. the faster you can get to that H2 the better.
still watching but commenting this before I forget: It wont help with your rig problems but darktide crashes a ton normally, I've gotten it to reliably crash by interacting with weapons too fast, usually running between brundt and hadron but sometimes just swapping too fast in the psykanium. Like I said, it won't help at all with the actual pc issues but it may take a load off knowing that the game isn't crashing because of your pc. Game does not run well in the slightest, ive seen better rigs than mine crash more often since they didn't know that it auto selects how many cores it wants to use regardless of how many your pc actually has.

Having a hard time getting past the bajillion "Uh..." and "Um..." after almost every thing you say. I don't know if you're trying to make these videos a certain length, but it does seem like you're attempting to get through the info at a brisk pace, which can also perpetuate the uh and um utters. Nevertheless, I appreciate the breakdown and see you posted these on GamesLantern. Keep it up. The community needs more. If I had the time, I would make videos. I have a build up on GL and would like to do more; I think it's all helpful. Why not break up these in to separate build vids via a Vet series?

I don't like seeing people call for nerfs for the plasma, iron will and VoC when Psyker is able to quell cancel for 1 million actual damage (both for immediate damage zaps and blasts) as well as stun everything in front of them, trivialising most encounters. If pubs feel a veteran having a plasma gun is boring then, perhaps, they should up the difficulty. If they are capable of doing VEG reliably, then I don't know why they are annoyed by the plasma since, no matter how good a veteran is, he isn't trivialising that content. FS has killed weapons in VT 1 and 2 because they listened to complains and not to the people having fun. Helldivers 2 is a more recent example of nerf mentality making a game frustrating to play. Aside from the calls for nerfs, very good video.
@ravvslathotep YEAH I KNOW what you mean I say it mostly with the knowledge that fatshark's design philosophy has been and will remain downscaling. I think it would be MUCH better if they made a effort to bring up the quality of underperforming weapons and add additional difficulty levels. I think player power downscaling, especially in PVE games where game balance is so relative and (mostly) unimportant, is such a shitty strat
@Torinatorr Completely agree. And if they are afraid of trivialising content because they are buffing weapons, I think it's better if they give us missions with more complex mechanics. Then again, I don't think even 1% of the playerbase is at your level, where the game is easy due to your skill. Most of us have a very intense time with the easier aurics maelstorms so buffs to underperforming weapons would be welcomed by all.
@ravvslathotep yup major agree I'm all for ease of use, dunno why some people are so miserable about suggesting nerfs to weapons like boltgun. the more people who can enjoy the game the better, just add a better play environment and more consistent ability to do challenge runs by sweaty losers like myself. honestly, all they would need to do is make a modded server for this game and all of these things are moot, comp players can just play in their environment

yup it's bomb af that is a totally fine combo, i use it with the second build listed all the time it's pretty much just as good if not less efficient

Having a hard time getting past the bajillion "Uh..." and "Um..." after almost every thing you say. I don't know if you're trying to make these videos a certain length, but it does seem like you're attempting to get through the info at a brisk pace, which can also perpetuate the uh and um utters. Nevertheless, I appreciate the breakdown and see you posted these on GamesLantern. Keep it up. The community needs more. If I had the time, I would make videos. I have a build up on GL and would like to do more; I think it's all helpful. Why not break up these in to separate build vids via a Vet series?

It's something you can't unhear if once you've taken a speech class in college. That said I do like the content and you'll only improve with reps. Rooting for ya.
I don't like seeing people call for nerfs for the plasma, iron will and VoC when Psyker is able to quell cancel for 1 million actual damage (both for immediate damage zaps and blasts) as well as stun everything in front of them, trivialising most encounters. If pubs feel a veteran having a plasma gun is boring then, perhaps, they should up the difficulty. If they are capable of doing VEG reliably, then I don't know why they are annoyed by the plasma since, no matter how good a veteran is, he isn't trivialising that content. FS has killed weapons in VT 1 and 2 because they listened to complains and not to the people having fun. Helldivers 2 is a more recent example of nerf mentality making a game frustrating to play. Aside from the calls for nerfs, very good video.
@ravvslathotep YEAH I KNOW what you mean I say it mostly with the knowledge that fatshark's design philosophy has been and will remain downscaling. I think it would be MUCH better if they made a effort to bring up the quality of underperforming weapons and add additional difficulty levels. I think player power downscaling, especially in PVE games where game balance is so relative and (mostly) unimportant, is such a shitty strat
@Torinatorr Completely agree. And if they are afraid of trivialising content because they are buffing weapons, I think it's better if they give us missions with more complex mechanics. Then again, I don't think even 1% of the playerbase is at your level, where the game is easy due to your skill. Most of us have a very intense time with the easier aurics maelstorms so buffs to underperforming weapons would be welcomed by all.
@ravvslathotep yup major agree I'm all for ease of use, dunno why some people are so miserable about suggesting nerfs to weapons like boltgun. the more people who can enjoy the game the better, just add a better play environment and more consistent ability to do challenge runs by sweaty losers like myself. honestly, all they would need to do is make a modded server for this game and all of these things are moot, comp players can just play in their environment

That shouldn't be true! I'm really anal with that, honestly. I always ensure everyone is above orange before I take, I even have ammo on scoreboard to ensure I'm careful. Maybe I was in a particular mood! Sorry about that!
@@Torinatorr It was a regular damnation match and I wasn't using my gun much so I wasn't really bothered, and it was funny seeing all the ammo wasted on the scoreboard at the end. I also remember seeing you shoot your gun just so you could take the ammo ☠
I played with him recently as well in regular Malice, and he ran off on his own, went down and flamed the team. Must have been a particular mood, or maybe he missed his meds.
