    Sounds great! My favourite circuit. Your amp sounds so good. The cleans are glass and the drive tones really cut. Eddy your passion is evident. Wishing you great commercial success! Go Eddy!

    Jesus…this amp is ALL…OVER the map in terms of how it sounds. This happens to sound really good…..especially with that SD-1 to tighten it up. There’s a video floating around of someone doing almost this exact demo, only using a Jackson Dinky and it sounded astonishing….borderline like Fair Warning (which, aside from Ratt-Invasion) is the perfect tone). I still think he either doctored it up via a DAW, or this amp is extraordinarily sensitive with what guitar you use, because I’ve never see another demo of this amp that sounds like that. But, this is relatively close. Usually the plexis sound a bit flubby or fizzy, until you mod them. Well done.

    • @EddyLenz
      @EddyLenz  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, they're very sensitive to different guitars. The speaker/IRs also matter a lot

    • @phillamoore157
      @phillamoore157 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EddyLenz Yup...to say the very least. I've also come to learn that the manufacturing and QA of these amps back in the day was ALL OVER the place. 30 different amps sound 30 different ways. But, if you can find that gem, it's worth every penny. Thanks for sharing.

    I have a 1987x from 1995 had it serviced last year but have lots of hiss on the bright channels, are you using a gate?

    • @EddyLenz
      @EddyLenz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. There shouldn't be much hiss if the amp is working correctly

    • @EddyLenz
      @EddyLenz  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I just roll down the volume on the guitar

    • @GoogleEqualsEvil
      @GoogleEqualsEvil 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's because of the bright capacitor soldered across the volume pot (typically a 4700pF ceramic disc). Snip one of the leads to take it out of the circuit and the volume control will behave normally. You will lose some brightness at the low end of the control...basically from 1-5, but the amp is already bright. If you need more brightness at low volume after snipping the bright cap, just turn up the presence.
