Tinubu should approach BRICS. We are not bound to buy in dollars, we can approach other nations and trade with local currencies. We have a lot to give. If the present govt is serious to alleviate the bane n suffering of the people, no better way than to look and implement some of the recommendations by the SAN. God bless you Sir.
IMF and World Bank are neocolonial institutions and the earlier a country leaves it the better. Nigeria should join both Shanghai Cooperation and BRICS so as to buy manufacturing equipment for our local development.
President Goodluck Jonathan before partial removal of fuel subsidy created a programme called SURE-P and everyone saw the impact of the partial removal to be positive on Nigerians, but the current government removed all subsidy and yet no programme is anchored on this subsidy era. What a juke of a country we find ourselves.
Asking a well know criminal who stole and raw away with people's mandates to account for the money under his watch is like asking the dead to sing for you.
Well articulated and solution proven facts by Mr Femi Falana (mind you, you don't need to like him for his political or social outbursts before you can agree with him). The naira is weak against the dollar and for Nigeria to wake up her economy, we have to trade in Naira. IMF will continue to make Africa poor with its style of proffering solutions to developing nations. We are in for a long ride and not just about, "They didn't vote for Abiola, Abacha and Peter Obi." The system is already designed to make poor Nigerians remain poor while making the rich, richer like Richard. Those in power since 1960 have been self-centered and are/were chasing self-aggrandisement to better themselves, not the common man. Elections decide our future, but it is not the onus of one individual not voting your preferred candidate will make the world heaven and haven of sort. Without radical and clinical steps/approaches/factors, Nigeria will still and continue to wallow in vicious cycle of poverty, impunity and doldrums cum conundrums. The ball is in our court since 1914. We achieved lesser than we learnt. Everything starts and stops in leadership of a nation.
It can’t bring any revenue because we are not producing and exporting. We need to use the money to generate more productions or create environment to produce
The subsidy does not bring more money but it allows government to retain the money used to pay subsidy in the past. The ties of government shares more money monthly since subsidy is no longer existence( check minister of finance speech on how much they share monthly). We need to know how our governors spend this increase revenue that comes to their covers every month. We need to go beyond media criticism and begin to mobile to governors houses and demand what they are doing with our money.
