Seun, you guys need to invite one gov each from each region and ask them to explain what they are doing with increased revenues shared monthly. Show them table of figures compared to pre- subsidy removal. Mr Falana has done 50% of the job for you guys, bringing out the numbers. That’s the best way to have intellectual conversations. Use numbers. Numbers and graphs tells the story best.

BRICS will rush Nigeria... Tinubu should approach BRICS. We are not bound to buy in dollars, we can approach other nations and trade with local currencies. We have a lot to give. Crude oil, iron ore, timber, gold, limestone, numerous cash crops, gas.

Well articulated and solution proven facts by Mr Femi Falana (mind you, you don't need to like him for his political or social outbursts before you can agree with him).
The naira is weak against the dollar and for Nigeria to wake up her economy, we have to trade in Naira.
IMF will continue to make Africa poor with its style of proffering solutions to developing nations. We are in for a long ride and not just about, "They didn't vote for Abiola, Abacha and Peter Obi." The system is already designed to make poor Nigerians remain poor while making the rich, richer like Richard.
Those in power since 1960 have been self-centered and are/were chasing self-aggrandisement to better themselves, not the common man. Elections decide our future, but it is not the onus of one individual not voting your preferred candidate will make the world heaven and haven of sort.
Without radical and clinical steps/approaches/factors, Nigeria will still and continue to wallow in vicious cycle of poverty, impunity and doldrums cum conundrums.
The ball is in our court since 1914. We achieved lesser than we learnt. Everything starts and stops in leadership of a nation.

The subsidy does not bring more money but it allows government to retain the money used to pay subsidy in the past. The ties of government shares more money monthly since subsidy is no longer existence( check minister of finance speech on how much they share monthly). We need to know how our governors spend this increase revenue that comes to their covers every month. We need to go beyond media criticism and begin to mobile to governors houses and demand what they are doing with our money.

Mr. Femi Falana with all due respect Sir, I expect you to tell the federal government to jail all the past governors and presidents amd ministers who have stolen all our money. If Nigeria did not go and borrow money from IMF, would the IMF dictate to us? The ruling class of this country should all be investigated and seize their ill gotten wealth they stole while in office

That's very correct it has been my ideas as well, we don't have to dollarise our commodities, the higher the demand for Naira the lower the dollar rate.
To an extent you can't use your naira card for international trade again too bad.
You can't even use Naira to trade on any digital trading platform how do you expect naira to appreciate.

  • @slaminu1234

Mr. Falana is been realistic although he is not an economist he is better than many of them. It was reported that Nigerians have over $30bn USD stacked in domicilliary accounts. As a sacrifice for the betterment of our Country these monies should be converted to Naira and use the dollar component to pay off the IMF and the world bank to forestall further anti people policies. All export should be sold in naira and naira should be made to be scarce so that it will regain its value. I know the mainstream media will add kerosene to fire. It's not President Tinubu's problem alone but, it is our problem to salvage the nation for the betterment of our future.

Nigeria can generate a lot of money through their ports right now, that we will not need to borrow money. But the those advising Tinubu are telling is best to raise the tariffs by 50% that means the ports will lose revenue and people will lose their jobs

They never have good intentions towards the Africa continent, I don't know why Africa leaders don't see this, or they can see it but ignore it because they are benefitting from this kinda system. Nigeria should move towards joining BRICS, and see if there is going to be changes in nigeria.
