Same, it's one thing recognising and having insight but it really doesnt come overnight changeing a pathology that's been programmed into you and your Neuropathways etc since birth. Its very hard having anger within you and struggling with it daily.

@beki 13 Please look at the shurangama mantra (500 or so lines) online and recite it for 21 days straight. It takes 16 minutes but at first it will take longer. Before reciting brush teeth/shower, don't eat meat for 21 days or watch Porn or do "low energy" stuffs.
This helped me and my friend. I hope it will help u.

My family is suffered from the anger of my father many times (He's a good person but he usually get angry when people don't understand his speech or explaination) and I hate that. Yesterday I just discovered that I have treated my sister in the same way and I tried to stop it immediately. Last night I talked with my mother about this problem and today I found this video. It is so true and helpful. This samsara will stop with me and I will not inflict it onto anyone else anymore.
Thank you Thay, may you rest in peace. I wish all of the Plum Village's members and viewers inner peace and a healthy and happy life.

If you let anger to be alone in you, anger will cause a lot of damage in your body and in your mind...Let us not sow the root of hatred so that no one can make us angry as it is the root of our anger which reacts to someone else action. Let's be mindful so we will diligently use our wisdom to look into our own mind. Thanks, guru Thich Nhat.

This is the first time I've heard a talk where Samsara is presented as being a multi-generational phenomenon (i.e. the father/son anger story). I have always instinctively felt that this was the case, but when I heard Thich Nhat Hanh describe it in this talk it just shot an arrow right to my core. Just absolutely brilliant and I am so thankful to be able to hear such an interpretation as this. Thank you so much!

Indeed it is a powerful energy constantly fuelled by unfinished business represented by events we couldn't handle at their time. Now we have the chance and hope to encounter wisely the seed of anger like a caressing mother towards her child. We do not hit the mental formations, yet we surround them with loving kindness. It is an ongoing process, I confirm this by my own experience of dealing with anger. Mindfulness was not built in a day, it definitely takes perseverance and presence to come across the unconscious lairs of our souls.
Here and now healing is possible😊

This teaching is one of Thich Nhat Hanh's best. Illustrating not only how angry energy is transmitted as a seed, and when nourish mindfulness seeds, they sprout a third thing, the clear sky of inner wisdom. Mental clarity. Thay's mindfulness energy is powerful and deeply felt! Thank you for posting this! @---}--

To say that I am grateful is not doing justice to this Zen Master and his teachings, His path, Dharmas, and books that came from him were studied in depth by my daughter. She faced life in this way. And she faced her own illnesses, treatments and eventually death in the same way. So grateful does not seem like a large enough word. It is the truth. Thank you. @@plumvillageapp Your attention to our family experience has lifted my heart. We ALL need love and kindness sent our way and I completely receive that now, in this moment. I will also tell her bewildered brother, loving Father and the others what is being sent out to us and from where. The koans are magnificent in their simplicity. My daughter indeed did slow-walk. She lived with intent. She came to know herself better thought the years and even because of her experiences-2 decades of extreme illnesses, surgeries, treatments, procedures-not one complaint and she walked with courage. I know that came from her knowing herself and continuing to be open to everything and when the time came to go ahead of us she met that on her own, knowing she was. I therefore was the receiver of the greatest act of love and unselfishness that I have ever witnessed or even known. As did her Dad that night and her family when I told them what happened and how. Yes, I was with her helping her leave in the last day and a half but she was unconscious at that point. The night she said "Good bye" instead of "Good night", after our kisses, she said with her eyes closed and she was totally present-that was her way of giving us the greatest assurance I have ever known and as it was when I brought her into this world as gently as I could I tried to help her gently go forward and did have the strength to do that. I tell you now that where I sit there are 5 of the books from Thich That Han. And that is only in one spot. There are more. I have put them into the family living area and have hoped that her Father and her brother would pick them up and understand more. Thank you. Jenna Rose's Mother, Terri, in North America

The art of developing mindfulness towards destructive states of mind like anger and destruction... touching it and embracing it to the core enables one to overcome it and feel others. One of the greatest teachings of the Master..... the more we practice... breathe in and feel alive ... feeling Your presence in each moment and breath.....love your quotes and teachings.... When you know how to suffer you suffer less... and understand the sufferings in others .. Sangham Saranam Gachhami....

Ever since I was diagnosed with cancer (Diffused Large B Cell Lymphoma aggressive) 8 months ago, I’m easily angered ! Intense intense fury. Uncontrollable irritability! Eventually ,, the emotion subsides because I’m too tired, too fatigued to carry it.

I have so much resentment because I feel unsupported by people i consider should support me... Lately it's really an obstacle to my practice. I'm trying to do forgiveness but it's really challenging...

Who can express anger and who cannot is about social status. Underlings cannot show anger to their bosses, but bosses and rulers can indulge themselves and their anger is heeded. Controlling your anger is about maintaining your subservience, your anger is in fact your power and you are denied that. My anger is my resistance.
The real problem with exprssing your anger is what it can bring down on your head, you may lose the love of someone dear to you or make someone hurt you.
