      Thank you very much. I appreciate that very much. The XCarve is my original CNC that I purchased and I still like it a lot.

    Love all of your videos. I consider myself still fairly new to the CNC world even though I have done several decent size projects and I getting ready to upgrade my Xcarve with your video help of course.
    Couple of questions on this project: 1) Was there a reason you did not surface the full cutting area of the machine (30x30) 2) what router lift are you using, as I am getting ready to build my router table? Again thanks for the videos, you have taught me so much!!!

      You can not surface the entire board. You will hit the stops (limit switches). Yes, I could move those and surface a little more but still you can not surface the entire board. I am very conservative with my CNC machines and do not push to the maximum. That is one way I do not damage and have problems with my machines. The size of this board fits the size that works with the limits that I have set. Your project can extend beyond the new wasteboard. I just will not cut outside of the area of the new wasteboard. I have a review of the router lift. Check out that video. I wanted a simple effective wasteboard to use my t-track clamps, glue and tape method plus use the dowel pins for a simple fence. Very versatile

    Love all of your videos, especially the X-Carve videos! Do you do anything specific when your power up your X-Carve controller to ensure that the X-axis is square? With the belt system of the X-Carve, I have found that the X gantry can be a little out of square before the machine is powered up. When powered on, it will retain this out-of-square configuration, which could mean that you are no longer aligned with your nicely carved X-axis lines. I usually hold the X gantry against some wooden blocks registered against the front of the machine before I power on the controller, but I'm wondering what procedure you use to ensure that the machine cuts square.

      No, I do not. Which version of the XCarve do you have? If you have the original version then the machine is problematic and you need to strengthen the components. If you have the later version you should not have that problem at all plus if by chance you did the upgrade it definitely would not have the problems you describe.

      Thanks for the feedback. I have one of the older 1000mm X-Carves and I have not upgraded it. I have considered doing so, but haven't yet. It's nice to know that the upgrade will fix this issue. Gives me more motivation to do the upgrade!

    Is there a specific name for that black laminate board if I were to ask for it at the store ?

    • @ndpesicgroup
      @ndpesicgroup ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Got it, Melamine, MDF with a laminate over it !!! Watched the video you did on 1st machine.... looks so sharp, I agree, a grid is a big advantage to have on the surface

      Black melamine. Sometimes it’s a special order. This material was given to me as a result of a remodel

    Wow. I love how you present the material in a way that is so concise and easy to follow. My question is, once I have made a copy of the file, can I edit it to increase the size of the spoilboard? I have a Longmill MK2 48x30. This is my first cnc and I am having a blast. I wish had had started by subscribing to Easel and watching your videos. Thank you.

    Really enjoyed this video. I have the new PROVerXL 4030 V2 that already has the new style spoilboard with T-slots. I would like to include some of your design. Would you add another spoilboard on top or would you rework the existing MDF boards? I like the black MDF that you used but you didn't flatten it, why. I saw you flatten the original spoilboard for it to sit on but are you assuming the new one is flat.

      The melamine is very consistent in the thickness. I knew the base was off so I surfaced the lower board. The top is perfect. The best way is the placement of the grid lines being .030” tells all. They are very consistent. No need to surface the melamine. Thanks for watching the video

      What about adding a new spoilboard top.@@PawPawsWorkShop

      On the small machines the extra wasteboard limits the depth of the projects. I have one on my FOXAlien VASTO and it definitely limits the projects that I can do

      Watch your video again and even found more things you explained. I downloaded your files and converted them to the 4030 V2 (will send you a copy of the file). Been looking for the Black Melamine here around Fresno CA and can't find it. Can you suggest somewhere to look? Thanks again.
