    Silat has some brutal slams, takedowns and locks. Many of which blend in well with Muay Thai as all these arts are related.. the problem is not many train the art live or spar

    That comes from some movie stunt, no Silat practitioner would use that in a real fight.
    Most Silat guys would do something much simpler like kick move in whilst blocking the kick and one of the following:
    1. kick or sweep the other ankle
    2. Uppercut to the balls followed by gentler moves
    3. Go diagonally while blocking the following punch and jabbing your throat with a spear hand or a half fist.
    We Silat guys are much more practical than you imagine

    • @MyZ001
      @MyZ001 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nah... we imagine practicality. That's why the title says "ridiculous" in it. They know how far out there it is. All martial arts have some crazy ass moves that you would never actually use in a real fight Hahaha

  • @xunantunich1450

  • @H4I2I2EE
    @H4I2I2EE 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If something works, what makes it unrealistic? If you anticipate the kick, you can do that same thing by moving in towards(instead of remaining stationary and catching it) the kicker as the kick is coming in and put your arm(left arm) under his leg from the get go and just keep going forward.

      I love silat the most now. I learned from youtube Different style of Silat making it my own I take what's useful. Since there no silat School around where I live. I don't care what these MMA sports hater guys say Silat is Sick. This coming from an MMA/BJJ. Mantis Kungfu, Kyokushin/Karate. Capoeira Angola, Muay Boran/MT, Western kickboxing, Yan yaw, TKD, Vo co Truyen. Bokator. KickboxingFMA/JKD.Whatever, so on i feel I don't care about style.
      But I notice Silat has hints of kungfu/Capoeira Angola/Muay Boran/Karate. like when I do the Buaya sense the Negachiva from Angola. Or the Jurus Blocks look's similar to karate/Kungfu/Muay Boran. I Think silat is those feral art help you think outside the box with knifes and stuff were These MMA guys don't deal with. also i notice silt some flaws but with right mixture of art it deadly.

  • @hummdee6
    @hummdee6 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    in reality fight, you could add another attacking moves to hit the opponent down
    for example:
    - when changing the hand (in the circular motion), you could make an attack with it.
    - while changing the hands, you could step a side to make opponent unbalance so you have the time to make fancy moves.
    - while you circling down the leg, you could grab another leg to make the opponent down
    - etc.

      You're right, and that's why we don't recommend using this move in a real fight. A common defense after getting your kick caught is to jab multiple times. There isn't much power, though, since you're hopping on one leg. You can defend by placing your free hand across your face, then using that arm to assist in your sweep.

      Listen bro honestly,i recommend you to start MMA cause its good for self-defence and builds up a character,but Kickboxing is great too if you like kicking,but if you are a puncher then start doing boxing,but i recommend you to start MMA if you are choosing between those thre. :)

      Rumen Antov In my opinion u should start with boxing if u don't have any experience fighting then work ur way to MMA or u can just start MMA if u want to. I started with Muay Thai and now I do mma but u can really just start with whatever u want

    Well this is nice and all but, technically, after catching the leg, can't you jsut use your right arm to smash into the knee with your elbow? I mean at this angle it shouldn't be too hard to break the joint.

    That's just a basic (and exaggerated) Crane-style move with a bit of Snake at the end. Pretty tame compared to what I had to learn, damn lunatics.

  • @albertk3112
    @albertk3112 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    This *could* work - BUT you'd have to hit (maybe lots) in between the kick catch and the throw - this technique exists because somebody got dealt with like this at some point in time, but like in Jeet Kune Do, we don't have to use every technique we learn - just the ones that work well for us - it's absurd to go right for the throw immediately after the catch, just like it's absurd to try and submit someone without a takedown or a beatdown first
