After finishing "The Song of Achilles", I hear the Greeks singing to Achilles after Patroclus died. Some parts however are Patroclus, "Remember the pact of our youth." and he is trying to calm Achilles down. Achilles goes crazy after Patroclus's death and kills lots of people but it ends in his own death. The Greeks tried to get him to calm down but he wouldn't. "Some of us loved you, not many but it's true" is Odysseus trying to talk to Achilles about Patroclus to convince him fighting or killing Hector won't do anything. Just my thinking lol ^^'
what the heck the lore in this sh---
@@alyciachan5805 Uh "Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller and basically me just saying what I think lol
This song is a haunting reminder of the darkness I thought I had escaped. This song echoes the voices in my head, the ones that tell me I'm not enough, that I'm a burden, and that I'll never be worthy. It's a painful reflection of the moments I've hit rock bottom, and the tears I've cried in silence. Gang of Youths' lyrics have a way of reaching into my soul and stirring up emotions I thought I had long buried. This song is a heartbreaking reminder that some wounds never fully heal, and that the ache of my past will always be a part of me.
this was not the intention, but why is this genuinely so poetic in a way? like i had to take a step back, circle around my room, and contemplate how i'm living
music to my ears frrrr
This is my favorite songs to listen to
LYRICS:
Achilles, Achillies, Achilles,
Come down, Won't you get up off,
Get up off the roof?
You're scaring us and
All of us, some of us love
you, Achilles
It's not much
but there's proof
You crazy assed cosmonaut,
Remember your virtue,
Redemption lies plainly
In truth
Just humour us, Achilles,
Achilles, come get down,
Won't you get up off, get up off,
The roof?
Achilles, Achillies, Achilles,
Come down, Won't you get up off,
Get up off the roof?
Remember the path of our youth
Where you go, i'm going,
So jump and i'm jumping
Since there's no me without you
Soldier on, Achilles,
Achilles come down, won't
You get up off, get up off
The roof?
Loathe the way they light
Candles in rome, but love the
Sweet air of the votives
Hurt and grieve but don't
Suffer alone, engage with the pain as a motive
Today of all days, see
How the most dangerous
Thing is to love
How you will heal
And you'll rise above
Achilles, Achillies, Achilles,
Jump now, and you are absent of cause or excuse
So self-indulgent, and
Self-referencial, no audience
Could ever want you
You crave the applause, yet
Hate the atenttion, then miss it,
Your act is a rouse
It's empty Achilles, so
end it up now, it's a
pointless resistance for you
Achilles, Achilles, just
Put down the bottle, don't
Listen to what you've consumed
It's chaos, confusion and
Wholly unworthy of
Feeding and it's wholly
Untrue
You may feel no purpose
Nor a point for existance, it's
All conjecture and gloom
And there may not be a
meaning so find one and
seize it
Hear those bell rings,
Deep in the soul, chiming
Away for a moment
Feel your breathe course
Frankly below, see life as a
Worthy opponent
Today of all days, see
How the most dangerous
Thing is to love
How you'll heal
And you'll rise above
Crowded by an overture
Bold and Beyond
Ah, it's more courageous
To overcome
More poignant than frame,
Or the taste of another
Be real and just jump, you dense motherfucker
(YOU'RE WORTH MORE, ACHILLES)
You will not be more than a rat in the gutter
(SO MUCH MORE, THAN A RAT)
You want my opinion,
My opinion you've got
(NO ONE ASKED FOR YOUR OPINION)
You asked for my counsel,
I gave you my thoughts
(NO ONE ASKED FOR YOUR THOUGHTS)
Be done with this now,
And jump off the roof
BE DONE WITH THIS NOW
AND GET OFF THE ROOF
Can you hear me, Achilles?
I'm talking to you
CAN YOU HEAR ME ACHILLES?
I'M TALKING TO YOU
I'M TALKING TO YOU
I'M TALKING TO YOU
ACHILLES COME DOWN
ACHILLES COME DOWN
THROW YOURSELF INTO THE
UNKNOWN, WITH THE PACE AND
FURY DEFIANT
CLOTHE YOURSELF WITH
BEAUTY UNTOLD, AND SEE LIFE
AS A MEANS TO TRIUMPH
TODAY OF ALL DAYS, SEE
HOW THE MOST DANGEROUS
THING IS TO LOVE
HOW YOU WILL HEAL
AND YOU'LL RISE ABOVE
CROWNED BY AN OVERTURE,
BOLD AND BEYOND
AH, IT'S MORE COURAGEOUS
TO OVERCOME
Such a beautiful song.
so beautiful, so gorgeous, so majestic

What is this about?????
It's about the Demigod and warrior Achilles, and how while battling through grief, you aren't alone in it.
In the song, it's referenced that Achilles is standing atop of a roof ready to kill himself. The singer is trying to convince him that there is more to grief than sadness, and to come down and rethink ("Achilles come down, You're worth more Achilles, Be done with this now and get off of the roof".)
Whilst in the background of those vocals, you can also hear the intrusive thoughts urging him further, ("Be real and just jump, you dense motherf*cker, you will not be more than a rat in the gutter, be done with this now and jump off the roof".) To which the last line overlaps with that of "Be done with this now and get off the roof."
It's a beautiful song when you look behind the meaning and listen to it fully. If you listen to the whole of the lyrics, this whole song takes place on top of that roof. It's all about him convincing Achilles to get down. (Hence 'Achilles Come Down'). It's also thought that this is about the singers battle with his own grief and how his ex-wife was battling cancer.
There's moments in the song where it seems he's conflicted ("Qu'on appelle une raison de vivre est en même temps une excellente raison de mourir.") Which is French, translated to be something along the lines of "What some call a reason to live is, at the same time, an excellent reason to die."
Wow,thank you ❤
