I love this because I've watched so many minimal/ capsule wardrobe videos and all I kept thinking was "they're all neutral, I'm the least neutral person I know 😟". Now I feel like I could figure out my colours and build something that's me 🥰
Daria Andronescu does some amazingly colourful capsules, you should check her channel out. Christie Ressel also has some great videos on her channel about building colourful capsules, though I don't think she's uploaded anything recently. Also Lauren McKinney who has a more prairie-girl aesthetic than some. And Audrey Coyne has begun to incorporate a lot more colour into her style. All of these have youtube channels that I recommend checking out. It's perfectly possible to build a capsule wardrobe that incorporates colour, if those colours all work together. It's just a lot easier to do if everything is neutral.
Cool tips for someone just dipping their toe into color. "Hero pieces" was probably the best one. Definitely got me excited to go back to the thrift shop this season!
Hello guys! I had a really fun time challenging myself to style this video from thrifted pieces!! 🌈💕♥️ thrifting is so fun and so cheap! Can you guess how much this wardrobe cost me?! (Everything you saw today was thrifted!) xxx
This is me! I wear so much colour. And make music and dance. Im going to make a maximalist capsule wardrobe also. So happy you did this well done, love! Lots of love 💕
Thanks for your creative color video. I really liked the hand knit colorful cardigan reminded me of the artist Henri Matisse color palette. A fun creative suggestion I found useful in adding wardrobe colors is to select colors a favorite artist use in a painting you find visually beautiful.
I loved this video. I buy most of my clothes at thrift shops with the exception of shoes and specific things I need like the new long hiking pants I purchased recently. Other than that I sew my own clothes. Over the past 10 or so years I have acquired some awesome hero pieces as well as filling in with basics. I totally love color so I have plenty in my wardrobe. I would say my wardrobe is made of basics and groups of items that mix together but not a cohesive collection and that is how I like it. I pack away non seasonal and things I will not wear so I keep a smaller collection to choose from at any given time. Of all the pieces you got my favorite is the boho white top and the beautiful orange sweater and tank tops.
Thank you Ami! ♥️ This sounds so amazing, well done 👏🏽 I’m so impressed that you sew your own clothes, I would really love to learn to do this, it’s on my list of things to learn! Sounds like you have your wardrobe system nailed! 👏🏽 a lot of people struggle with this so you should be so proud that it’s not something that causes you unnecessary stress ♥️ Lots of love to you and thank you for watching my video!!! Xxx 😘😘
Just fantastic. Really loved the styling and how you showed that you can update your wardrobe but do so in a more responsible way. I've been thrifting for years and just love it, although now I really try to plan so I don't "over thrift" which is really easy to do. Thanks for the great styling tips I think I can even use some of this for the winter by just adding tights/thermals. :)
I was looking for examples of colorful capsule wardrobe and found your video. I liked it a lot. You found some really great items at your local thrift shops. A great reminder that capsule wardrobes can be created with thrifted items. Found your concept of 'hero pieces' interesting. Love the colorful handknit cardigan you thrifted. Glad that I discovered your channel.
Colors look amazing on you! 😍 im not a color person myself, but with this video it has given me the courage and ideas to have some colors in my wardrobe. It looks like you feel happier wearing colors.
I cannot believe that these beauties were all thrifted. It looked as if they were specifically made for you. I loved this video. Every outfit was better than the previous one.
this video was a total wow!!! it was really inspiring!!! and the tips are really really helpfull!!! thanks a lot emily!! love your content. loads of love for future videos too!!!!
This was an exceptional video, giving us so many great outfit ideas. I wouldn’t know how to pick out a favorite outfit as so many of them were so sweet. I did really love your hero dress and the white blouse. Thrift shopping is truly a good way to go. Everyone wins.
What a great idea to show a completely thrifted capsule collection!! You found great items, but you are so pretty that everything looks good on you! I especially love the white blouse with lace details, you must absolutely keep it!! Greetings from Italy, 🤗🥰
This is a wonderful example, practical and beautiful. I wish more people were like you, I 100% agree with the value of thrifting and Melbourne is such a great place for it!
So helpful for thinking outside of the box!! I’ve been wanting to create a capsule wardrobe, but have been discouraged by how plain they all look. Some people can rock the all white beige and black look, but it’s just not for me! Love the play on neutrals and colors, so fun!
This is so great. It gave me a lot of ideas to restyle the clothes I have.. Where I live in the U.S. we have clothing/shoe recycling bins. I usually only bring items that are in very poor condition, though. I should look into them more.
Such a great video! Please say you are keeping the first orange sweater?! It was my favorite and the blazer. But really loved so many of the items & you looked great in them.
I really love all the colors you chose for this and hope you will keep all of the pieces because they suit you so well! Your red leather coat is similar to one I thrifted two years ago. I wonder if it's the same one as mine? That would be so funny.
Fun, fashionable and really economical too !! Great !! I love the last combination with the multi colored patterned sweater and white jeans, it makes the look totally fresh and modern. You really got some great deals on clothes :-)
This was such a great video. I'm obsessed with the grey blazer. I know you thrifted it so it won't be able in stores, but I'm just curious to know what brand its from. It's such a beautiful silhouette and it fits you like a glove.
Thank you so much for all your info on being a conscious consumer. Because of this video, I found green textile recycling near me (in America). Thank you for helping to educate us!😘
So you styling for all seasons? Or is it warm where you located. You got some really nice stuff to color enhance your exiting wardrobe. I did not hear any surprised announcement at the end of video, I consider you forgot to include it. I'm basically a thrifter but I do need to get that under control because I been doing too much these past years and this year can not even wear anything because of this virus got so much shut down. I like the outfits you put together. I am shock that the thrifted leather coat was $95, so I not aware of pricing in your area. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you and all in the days to come.
For everyone who's interested in capsule wardrobe videos, I recommend the channel Gemma McLean. She explains it very well and has some really cute outfits that could inspire some ppl if they are out of ideas.
So? The video is old, can you share with us how much it cost? How many of the pieces did you keep? I recently lost some weight and used Buy Nothing to give away my clothes to a woman who then gifted part of them to a gal finishing college who was needing work clothes. I’m 71 and had worked for 44 years and had many items for both of them.
Deceived by thumbnail. Was so excited to see some beautiful bold colourful outfits! You've got a great style nevertheless, but I was expecting to see some gorgeously clashing patterns, bright daring colours, fun joyful maximalist outfits like the ones in your thumbnail. X
I don't want to come across as a hater, but I feel like someone had to write it. Buying clothes that you don't need from a thrift shop is no more sustainable than buying them new from a fast fashion brand. It's not about how much something cost or whether it belonged to someone before you bought it - if you just need an item to show it once in a video, there's no way in the world you can consider it a sustainable purchase. And you should really look up how recycling works when it comes to fabrics - it's impossible to recycle mixed fabrics, and even if we're talking about 100% natural materials, they can't be recycled without decreasing the quality so much that the fabric you get after it's been recycled is unsuitable for making clothes. You can recycle polyester because it's basically plastic, but it's not a good material to buy clothes in in the first place. So no, all the clothes you got rid of won't become some new fancy things - they'll be most likely turned into wiping rags and sent to all sorts of fabrics to be used to wipe machinery. I get that you're a blogger who needs to release new content regularly, but I wish you would either allow yourself to be a consumer without trying to greenwash it, or really be sustainable and find another way to shoot videos (borrow clothes from a friend, rent them, make up looks using just pictures to illustrate your idea without actually buying new stuff, etc.).
I love this because I've watched so many minimal/ capsule wardrobe videos and all I kept thinking was "they're all neutral, I'm the least neutral person I know 😟". Now I feel like I could figure out my colours and build something that's me 🥰
Does videos are always the same. Capsule Borig, you don't need to much imagination to be minimalist.

@@Teverell Thanks for the rec on Daria Andronescu! This is exactly what I was looking for. Real BOLD color and lots of different styles.
I LOVE COLOR. I swear there are moments I question if I look like a clown, but it's so uplifting in the winter.
That was nothing short of amazing! On several levels! Thank you
Awww ♥️♥️♥️🥰 thank you for this comment! Made me smile a lot ☺️😘 xx

I would say 200 $ for everything.
I’m going to say $130
How much??
Thank you Emily for educating everyone about the concept of buying less and wearing more. Loved your video as always and great to see Fanta😘
This is me! I wear so much colour. And make music and dance. Im going to make a maximalist capsule wardrobe also. So happy you did this well done, love! Lots of love 💕

I love pink and red together. You found some beautiful pieces💗 I love the pink skirt .
Love the sweater and yellow capped shoes!
I've never seen that method of rolling up the hem of a long shirt, and putting a wide belt over - it worked so well!
I cannot believe that these beauties were all thrifted. It looked as if they were specifically made for you. I loved this video. Every outfit was better than the previous one.

The dress looks amazing on you! I was impressed that you didn’t keep much. So what did you decide you wanted for yourself?
This was an exceptional video, giving us so many great outfit ideas. I wouldn’t know how to pick out a favorite outfit as so many of them were so sweet. I did really love your hero dress and the white blouse.

Thank you so much ♥️🥰🙏🏽 xxx
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this and love these ideas!
Love this video! There is much less content on COLORFUL capsule wardrobe, soo...we need more :D
This was just wonderful! I have a very similar vintage red leather trench, but mine has a detachable hood. My favorite piece of clothing:)
Your concept of hero pieces 💯!
What an awesome video!
I watched it 5 times in a row! Loved it.
I’m new to your channel and loving it 🥰 oh and I love Fanta 🐈

Hi, where are the white jeans from?
Pretty❤
Congratulations very good buy, all the pieces beautiful and cheap..
LV IT ★★★★★ ♥♥♥♥♥
Love the very first outfit
Edit: It's actually the pink jumper that works so well in the capsule
The cardigan is fabulous and all the items are great. I donate my clothes to the animal refuge.
My plan:
- Colorful, plaid, printed, embroidered, painted bottoms
- Solid, muted, colored tops
- Statement cut pieces for layering
250 dolars for full wardrobe
Please please where is there an op shop to buy anything at these prices. In my area kmart items are more expensive than shopping at kmart. Omg.
This was fantastic, thanks!! My lucky guess; you spent 175 AUD for the thrifted items.
I love those striped shorts! Adorable!
Humm. I like the white pants outfit with the blazer. And the next outfit But the dress snd sweater. No. The orange sweater is better than the pink.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

that was great 150$ for everything
You spent 175.00?
👏🏽👏🏽 I will let you know next week! 😋
You look like a model.

To me, this is not a very colorfull wardrobe? At least half is neutral.
great - but: im in a colder area - this is not for me. But I bet other girls will do it
I guess 185.00 dollars
Without the coat I guess $100
