Loving the game thus far. This is my first DQ game. EDIT: Like others here, I got the demo and that's what convinced me to purchase the full game. A joy to play.
I've dabbled in a few Dragon Quest games and I can safely say they're a treat to play, but they aren't a cakewalk by any means. I love that this game actively keeps the player on their feet, having to keep every party member doing something to move the tides of the battle in your favor!
Everyone must experience this game and all it has to offer, it’s a great starting point in the series. It’s also very beginner friendly, you can put your party members on autopilot and increase the battle speed if you’re not fond of random encounters. I highly recommend playing through the game in 3D Mode first to take in all the beautiful visuals and then do a 2nd playthrough in the 2D Mode. I don’t know about everyone else but I love the cutscenes and the voice acting is top notch. I’ve taken so many screenshots and clips of this game that’s how Great this Game is.
Mattapawd It’s one of those games that you can take a break from whenever. Many people I know have taken multiple month breaks and didn’t have a huge problem.
I love this game more than words can describe. I haven't felt this satisfied with a game since BOTW. Everyone needs to get this masterpiece ASAP! Dragon Quest has always been a sleeping giant in the west, now is the best time for everyone to get into it.
@@techno-- There will be MUCH more Spells and it gets more and more tactical. At first it just seems like only fighting but the spells are extremely important in the later game. And the best thing in my opinion is that every other character has different types of spells and spells to unlock with the Skill Tree. It has the perfect battle system if you put enough time in it in my opinion.
@@techno-- Yes, what black knight said, the combat is still turn based but you learn lots more spells and abilities and some of the later bosses really force you to use your head on when to attack and heal. Picked this up as my second game on the switch just so I wouldnt get burnt out with how massive breathe of the wild is. Take it from someone who hasnt been interested in turn base Jrpgs since the ps2 era. This game is wonderful. If you have been playing mobile gacha games like Age of Magic, cleanse yourself by buying Dragons Quest 11. Or at least play the demo to see what a true turn based jrpg is about.
Already penciled this title as my Game of the Year. This is easily a top 5 game on the entire system; it's an RPG that does everything right and brings so much heart at every turn. You simply can't go wrong with DQ11 S. Whether you're a longtime fan of tge series, a casual RPG player, or even a novice to the genre, this is a special game in the truest sense of the term. The world of Dragon Quest feels so at home on Nintendo systems, and I love to see it this way for years to come with future titles.
Best jrpg of the gen and probably my favorite jrpg ever. This game does so many things that I absolutely love about jrpgs, right and almost perfectly. Well paced story, a perfect balance between gameplay and story, fun characters, extremely fun and versatitle combat with many options given to you to defeat foes, an amazingly and surprisingly heartwarming, emotional story, massive world that doesn’t feel too massive or overwhelming full of items to find, quests to do, minigames to play and more. And the Switch version added freaking 2D mode: a classic remake of the game that plays like the classic DQ games (originally only in the 3DS version). The symphonic OST was added, tons of new costumes, new character scenarios, new costumes to collect, new bosses that can be fought in post-game, the tinkington 2D mode Altar quests which add even more new bosses. This is the best game on the Switch y’all pick it up!!
It's truly something else, literally my second play trough, over a year later and I still couldn't put it down for over a 100 hours, it still made me laugh and cry like it was the first time all over again. I haven't fallen for a RPG this hard since godamn FF VI.
Dragon Quest is possibly the most popular series in Japan, so Square Enix is finally trying to gain popularity in the west. With one of the best games in the series out and a character in Smash Bros., it's the perfect time for them to start really pushing it.
Un-inkpressive Productions - no they are not, in Japan they have stores decorated in DQ merchandise and they even have Lawson stores (7-11), with DQ Merch , food and Advertisements. Sadly DQ is not supported in the West. As evidenced by no DQ Adventure at Universal Studios, no DQ museum, and no DQ live action show - the Real. ZERO Dragon Quest arcade games like Battle Road Card scanner game.
Best JRPG of the generation. Best JRPG since Chrono Trigger, so in almost 25 years, so better than FF VII or IX, or Persona. Best game in the DQ series. Best game on the Switch, or at the very least tied with BotW. An unforgettable masterpiece. One of the greatest video games ever made.
Jordan3D believe me, I don’t say that lightly!!!!!! Those games are all amazing too. To me though, this is not only every bit as good, but has a inherent greatness that permeates every aspect of the game. It’s not perfect, but it’s as close to perfect as anything. It’s a game that’s not the same “high art” vibe of Final Fantasy VI, VII, VIII, IX, but it’s got the basics so down. I said since Chrono Trigger, which came out after VI. To me DQ XI is game so clearly inspired by those two SNES all time masterpieces (Yuji Horri and Akira Toriyama of course worked on Trigger). The story even features a number of beat reminiscent of both of those games. And it does not let down the incredible legacy of those games. I’m less of a Persona fan, but I absolutely recognize their greatness.

I hope you enjoy the final boss, I couldn't believe it when Sylvando grew 50 ft tall and announced that he was the main villain. Definitely a shocking plot development.
The opening scene of the game NEVER fails to give me goosebumps. Been an avid fan of DQ series since DQ8. I'm so happy more and more people are joining the DQ community ❤
Decided to buy this instead of Pokémon. So glad I did. Can really see the effort gone into this and every monster is animated with so much charm (unlike Pokémon)
It ain’t cheesy anymore when it’s not the typical format anymore. 😏 Everyone these days tries so hard to implement a new super dramatic scenario while dragon quest sticks to its roots of the hero coming to save the kingdom from darkness. Makes it actually original in today’s market
I just finished the post game story after 87 hours and I am more satisfied than I have ever been with a game. I’ve even thought about sending the directors a letter to express my gratitude for their work. This is easily one of my games of the decade. So you, yes you! If you’re even remotely an RPG fan, you should get this game on the Switch. I wasn’t a Dragon Quest fan but now I am until the end of time.
Just starting Act 2 and just met Sylv again. The parade is so hilarious lol. My 2nd fave DQ game after DQV (that game is very dear to my heart). Get this if you're a JRPG lover!
Already have and i brought the dq trilogy from the eshop also dragon quest builders 1 and 2 just want dragon quest heros 1 and 2 (only available in japan) and dq8 on the switch
Not exactly my type of rpg game, but I love the passion its fan base is pouring into the comment section and can't help to feel appealed and probably end up giving it a try
This game is incredible. Played a total of 61 hours now and all my characters are lvl 50+, I think i'm close to beating the main story. Although there are still a lot of things to do after beating the main story. Overall if youre a RPG fan this game is a must to have, if not then I still think that you would enjoy playing this game.
The art style, the vibrant colors in all of the locations and environments, and seeing all of the characters/enemies personalities when wondering around the different open-worlds and you see them as your exploring, and even some great ideas in the turn-based battle system is all amazing and this is how mainline Pokemon should be.
@@kevinramirez3134 It's funny that you say that, since Pokemon was heavily inspired by Dragon Quest. One funny piece of trivia is that Satoshi Tajiri got envious of Ken Sugimori getting two rare drops of the Prince of Cannock's ultimate helmet in Dragon Quest II, wishing that there was a way to trade items between games. That eventually led to Pokemon's trading system, which has become a staple of the franchise ever since.
Fully Completed the game last week, got to say it's my 2nd favourite Dragon Quest, the plot was pretty good kinda losses it for me near the end of act 3 a bit to much grinding if you want everything done. losses some of the emotional impact a bit and at the same time gains some as well with extra story content. I love revising the older game's especially DQ5 (My favourite BTW) and I wouldn't mind if they turned it into it's own game with maybe multiple world to explore fixing time lines (A bit like Dragon ball Xenoverse) all in all Dragon Quest 11 has an interesting cast of characters (Sylv Is best boy Darling) an pretty great story and is a blast to play though if you have a week or two with nothing to do. If don't really have a lot of games for the switch I would recommend This I rate Dragon Quest 11, 5 mini medals out of 5. 🤙🏻
My first DQ game after well over a decade of meaning to try the series out. Only about 17 hours in (just got my boat if that helps narrow it down) and so far I’m really enjoying it. If anyone’s on the fence, there’s a demo on the eShop that’s basically the first 10 hours or so of the game. I highly recommend you try it out.
I’ve played about 10 hours of the demo, about 4 of them just running around grinding after I got to the end, loving it! Once I have the money for the full game I’ll definitely be picking it up

Just starting Act 2 and just met Sylv again. The parade is so hilarious lol. My 2nd fave DQ game after DQV (that game is very dear to my heart). Get this if you're a JRPG lover!
K, I can officially say GameXplain is in the top tier of reviews now. Actually, I'm just realizing it. 😂
dang this game really does look amazing
Uma evolução significativa, parabéns NINTENDO,
REMINDER:
BUY THIS GAME SO WE CAN HAVE MORE DRAGON QUEST CONTENT IN THE WEST!!
Thanks for your attention uwu
Already have and i brought the dq trilogy from the eshop also dragon quest builders 1 and 2 just want dragon quest heros 1 and 2 (only available in japan) and dq8 on the switch
My first DQ game, I highly recommend it. I'm completely hooked!
One of the best games I've ever played. Please give this game a chance everyone.
Masterpiece!
Akira toriyama sure knows how to create adorable babies.
Those 12 dislikes are from sony fanboys. 😎
Love this game. Its big and awesome!
Thank you Nintendo for the greatest console ever, the Nintendo Switch!
The best console is the Wii
Imagine unironically thinking the Wii is the best console.
@@PoopieMcSkroochiehahaha this is literally the Wii with a monster buff...more lovable games otw.
Laihoard but wii sports, mario galaxy etc.
Welcome back to Nintendo family, heroes.
I've missed you.
@DueMagician921 and even then it realeased again on the 3DS with more content
@DueMagician921 and DQVII on the original playstation
@DueMagician921 viii did too, though...
Best game on the Switch
One of the best for sure. Amazing game! Masterpiece!
i loved every minute of this game
My first DQ game after well over a decade of meaning to try the series out. Only about 17 hours in (just got my boat if that helps narrow it down) and so far I’m really enjoying it. If anyone’s on the fence, there’s a demo on the eShop that’s basically the first 10 hours or so of the game. I highly recommend you try it out.
I’ve played about 10 hours of the demo, about 4 of them just running around grinding after I got to the end, loving it! Once I have the money for the full game I’ll definitely be picking it up
Great trailer. Enjoying this game
Can't wait to play this during the holidays!
Great visuals, amazing gameplay, excellent story, awesome music and superb voice acting. Definitely one of the best JRPG game ever!!!
Un jeu à couper le souffle, une durée de vie extraordinaire
Un jeu comme dragon quest 11 J en veux bien un tout les ans car c trop rare
Un remaster du 8 serai génial
Awesome video!!! So are Kirby and Fire Emblem the same universe?
Where the hell'd you get that?
The FE games themselves aren't even in the same universe, you want to throw Kirby in there too?
@@Jordan3DS yeah :)
@@Jordan3DS specifically with lucina because the kirby and lucina pics are cute
I love this game,Please more Dragon quest on switch.
You're in good hands with Square Enix... while Nintendo handles the publishing rights for North America and Europe.
this game is really really good, i recommand it, u can also buy it on pc, graphics are better but nintendo switch version has some dlc
Gameplay matters more than graphics in video games! Always has always will.
Switch edition is waaay better because of all the QoL additions not in the other 2
I'll take the content over graphics.
Modern masterpiece
Beat this game and it was awesome. Definitely recommend it.
Dragon Quest 11 is such a great game! I enjoy it very much.
I can't believe they have the Hero from Smash Bros his own game
Yeah wowww
:oooo is soo cool game yess cool yesssss
They should give that Marth chick her own game too while they're at it. And maybe that Commander Falcon guy too.
That Mario guy should also get a game
Dragon Quest is the best please buy this game if you haven't already
I can’t wait to get this game ;-;
Btw this game feels like xenoblade 2 levels of playtime
Acabo de completar el post game del juego y YT me recomienda esto
Dragon quest 11 is my favorite RPG.
It is better then Mario Rabid Kingdom, Xenoblade Cronicles 2, I am actually liking it even a bit more then three houses.
Got to play the demo! To get Ahead
People but this game, you will not be disappointed, I assure you of that.
First DQ game. What convinced me to buy it? It all started with a prolific:
"Hello"
Hit like game lovers
I haven’t even finished the demo (kinda want to restart it and play it for my channel) and I love this game already.
*_Edit:_* 1:12 What the?! I watch GameXplain all the time! What are the odds?
