Geld is one of those characters who feels extreme guilt for his/and his peoples actions. In slime diaries you can tell he does so much work like a repayment and atonement for their actions.
Also, in season 1, Geld offered his life up to Benimaru for atonement after Rimuru forgave them all, and Benimaru said they both now serve the same master and as the new minister of defense he cannot well waste a resource, so, work hard and all is forgiven. And Geld has.
It's not really necessary but before starting season 3 you could check out Vision of Coleus Ova, it's half canon and the action take place before season 2 during the time Rimuru was a teacher in the Kingdom of Ingrassia, while the Ova doesn't really affect the story, you do have some character that will be extremly important as we go further. And in the end even if the story of the Ova isn't that important more slime can't make any harm, am I right?

I recommend Dr. Stone. It's really fun. The main character is a genius scientist. Everyone turns to stone. Thousands of years later, the main character is free from being turned to stone and has to create a new civilization, teaching science to the Stone Age people.
Under the control of Demon Lord Geld, OUR Geld's father, also known as the Orc Disasiter, Beni/Shuna/Shion/Hakuro/Soi/Kurobu village was wiped out and it's inhabitants were all EATEN!
please boys whatever you do don't give up on season 3 after first few episodes ... they honestly made a mistake to start the season with pure talking episodes even if they are great and progress the lore, but with no action a lot of people just don't care ... so be prepared to have less views and likes on those first maybe 5 episodes but it gets a lot better later on with some of best fight scenes and pure OP moments in all of anime ...

I watched this twice in theaters, once in sub and once in dub, mostly just to help it's numbers. Great movie.
