  • Ultimate Miter Saw Station Build. Part 2 of a 2 part series. After working with my miter saw on a tiny table for a couple years and having next to no storage for most of my tools, I finally decided it was time to address those problems and this miter saw station resolves those issues perfectly.

Pro tip for mounting the drawer fronts... position it, pre drill where your pulls will go, install temporary screws through those holes, open drawer, install screws on the inside, remove temp screws on the outside and install pull... no more fussing with repositioning the drawer front... nice build btw, I like and have sub'd

Thanks for watching Troy and that is a great tip! I did end up using that technique in my convertible changing station build :)

Great job young man! I enjoyed watching this. I couldn't help but think how I might add to your approach. I think it would've tied in nicely if you would have chamfered the drawer fronts after paint. It would help tie in your counter top. You also could've reversed your MDF top and added an oak veneer.....say 1/2". That would take the poly much better. One last tip. You could've built the cabinets on a base instead of taking all that time cutting out toe kicks. Its much easier and quicker leveling a base than a heavy cabinet. All in all, you did great. You should be proud.

Thanks for watching! I'm partial to the way it turned out, but I'm sure it would have looked good following your suggestions as well.

Being in the Southeast, we do not have basements here. That said, does all of that saw dust migrate up into the living space?
    Project turned out great.

Thanks for watching! I haven't really noticed it get up onto the top floor much but EVERYTHING in the basement is dusty. I make sure to replace the furnace air filter often. I have a tiny, uninsulated garage otherwise I would work in there. Such is life.

Thank you! It's a bigger project, but none of it is overly complicated so it's just a matter of putting in the time. The storage/organization has been..sooooooo nice.

Enjoyed the video, and really great outcome. I have looked at the ShopNation plans in the past, but just needed a kickstart. I think this is going to get me going on this project. By the way, really like the microphone you use in the video....what model is it and where did you get it?

Thanks for watching Ken! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The mic is Yeti brand and I got it from Amazon. Here is the link amzn.to/3IwjlST

I’m building the same miter saw station from the same shop nation plans. I noticed your drawers are all the same size and in the plans they’re all different sizes. Going from small drawers to large drawers from top to bottom. I like the idea of having all the drawers the same size. Can I ask what your drawer dimensions are so I can do the same?

Yeah I decided there was no need to complicate things by making multiple drawer sizes. I made all of mine 26" x 19" x 6". Thanks for watching!

It looks great! Very nice job. What are your drawer front dimensions? Also, did you use the same dimensions for the lower short cabinet carcass in the plans?
