Another great video Sarah! Very well presented and humourous too. Excellent! I like watching videos from other parts of the UK that I am completely unfamiliar with. Cheers! Paul
Getting wet, so we don't have to! 🙂 Thank you for your sufferance. All good stuff. It always slightly saddens me when you see "leftovers" or missing tracks and slidings at stations as a reminder of how much busier they once were.
Great video Sarah! It did not go wrong, it just went another way! And you got things to see which otherwise you would not have seen. As our famous dutch soccer player said: very disadvantage has its advantage.
There used to be regular excursions and summer services from Sheffield, Birmingham, Leicester, Derby, London and even Manchester and Newcastle but most of these ended in the 1990s.
I can just picture that scene you described - the two of you in the car, and this level crossing suddenly appears out of nowhere... Definitely a good test of the driver's reactions! Also, random spud!
Excellent - I feel bad that I instigated all this by originally asking you to do this line - but it’s been really good to see it all and I thank you for doing it all so well. Hope you did enjoy it yourself too - it’s an interesting line. Best wishes and thanks again.
Shame there was no announcement that you could only alight from one door of the train and I did encountered a Level Crossing by a T Junction recently at Kiveton Park between Worksop and Sheffield and those Cows were Moooo-ving away but still good that we saw them. Still a Great video Sarah
Brilliant video Sarah, it's a shame that there was no warning about doors not opening and it messed the plan up a bit, a real shame about the weather too. I did visit Skegness for the first time in years not long ago. :)
I walked to get a train at thorpe culvert from havenhouse. Not too bad You can walk hubberts bridge to Swineshead but its a bad walk on a fast road Rauceby gets few trains but you can walk it from sleaford Finally ticked it off a few months ago
Sleaford to Rauceby was probably one of the better walks I've done exploring the railways (mostly pavement). Unlike when I walked Attleborough to Eccles Road!
Congratulations on powering through the mishaps. So is it front door only at Thorpe Culvert? What was the plan at Havenhouse - bus into Skegness or walk back to Wainfleet? I did the walk, but it was a summer saturday evening.
@@sarahwiththetrains Once you get to the main road at Havenhouse there are buses into Wainfleet and Skegness (and vice versa). Saves a walk along a nasty bit of road.
You should and report back 😂! Hubberts Bridge is lovely and there's a great pub across the road 'The Wheatsheaf Inn' where we went for a meal lovely meal after Riley picked me up.
Excellent video as always 👍

Glad you enjoyed the video! It saddens me too especially finding overgrown tracks and platforms that could be put to much better use.

Sarah you are totally bonkers but in a good way - please keep up with the brilliant videos

Hope you had a good day anyway, keep up the good work!!!!!!!
Brilliant video again!
Ditto my comments elsewhere.
👍🙂
Thank you, Sarah. Very interesting.
Great as ever. I enjoy being out in rain, but only if properly attired. Well done for not letting it dampen your spirits.

No need to feel bad at all! I've loved doing it! Even when the weather's terrible or something goes wrong I always enjoy my time on the trains!
A day above and beyond the call of duty. Well done.
Great video Brian, why does your assistant wander off after cows?
Ahhh the flappy plastic bin!!!

27:35 Who leaves a potato? I mean honestly!
I know! It was so random! Did it fall out of someone's car window? Was it thrown? Was it the signaller's tea gone missing? We'll never know!

Yes front carriage only (same at Havenhouse). Plan was to walk from Havenhouse to Wainfleet and go from there. All coming up in my next video!

I'm almost tempted to go to Hubberts Bridge just to see if that potato is still there 😅
And those camera shy cows .......

Irony of how much traffic there is around. They could do with a decent railway service!
Oh! 🤔
The small tree in a pot appears to be a cherry ..
Thanks for the info! I'm clueless with plants!
Do the cross guard gates make that sound in the dead of night as well?
Crossing alarms are usually either turned down or silenced over night.
