Hey Irving !! 👋 so glad to hear the videos continue to help as you’re becoming more and more experienced !! Really appreciate the feedback 🙏🏻😁 and will do !!
Nice presentation. Always on point. I myself have been at it 18 months now. Your refresh gives the perspective all new drivers need. Thanks for going that extra mile to help the newbies.
Hey Danny - thanks so much for puttin out such straight-forward stuff! Question: what’s the best advice you have to a new driver who hasn’t been at a truck stop yet?
That’s a great question Zenobia 🙏🏻😁 there’s so much to find out as you embark on this career !! First I’d say, with backing get in early and practice. With diet I’d recommend to never go in hungry 🤤 or that Cinnabon and Pilot Pizza will build your waistline quiiiick !! 🫣 eat raw nuts that you keep on the truck (future episodes will cover this more in depth) and lastly right off the bat, I’d say don’t be confused by a “team shower” … it’s not what it sounds like 🤣🫣😂
@@CDLYeah On that drawing you were doing on the board, and when you are doing your backing demo's. I think it would be very helpful to know where your tandems are. I'm refreshing my knowledge, but I believe that's helpful. Or, if you could do a video covering that, it would be very instructional.. just my opinion..but I like your channel
@@goodymob9638 Thank you so much for your feedback and helping to clarify for me !! So this is a 48ft flatbed trailer, so no tandems, the axels are fixed and spread. When operating spread axels the trailer responds differently than closed tandem axels because the pivot point (the distance between the tires) is much larger. This means it moves slower laterally, left to right. A refer/dry box will respond quickly as the axels are closed AND the closer the tandems to the driver the faster still. The spread axels however respond slower, so it is best to be thinking about the future a little bit more, where the tires will be in 5ft in order to put them on the correct trajectory. Thank you so much again for the input and I will make sure to address this difference more in a future episode ! 😁🙏🏻
MAYBE ADDRESS WHEN ITS SUPER, super TIGHT AND KNOWING just when its not going to happen or it might happen with 45 minutes of micro moves. and clutch leg going completely numb.. kind of like what you get when you got to deliver in a tight ny alley designed for horse and buggy... you know what i mean. most of these backing lessons are great when you have the room. and granted you teaching students. however students still hit truck stops 11pm with only centimeters to park
Great suggestion! Thanks for reaching out 🙏🏻 There are definitely some spots that don't seem to have been made with trucks in mind. I will brainstorm about an episode on that next level backing stuff 🤓
If you can't get in a tight hole? Slide ur Tandems all the way back. Don't let ur tail trailer whip a truck trailer or wall or whatever. Walmart driver experience.
These tips will make your life so much easier at truck stops. Trust meee!! Great video!
Haha Thanks duder !! Now you just need to put out a video on how to remind folks not to take a 30 in the fuel aisle 😆🤷🏻♂️🤪👋

Be safe my friend
Likewise, always 🙏🏻
Where are the tandems on that fictious truck ?
Can you be more specific ? 😁

Truck stop parking is hard. Try your best to only back left side facing.
Agreed 😁 That blind side backing can be ruff lol 🥴
Your trailer looks like 48 feet 5 feet shorter than 53 feet.
Good eye, yes this is a 48ft trailer 🙋🏻♂️😎

Great tip, if you have the sliding tandem of a box/refer trailer you’ll want to be very mindful of the whip of that duck tail 😲🦆😁
