Say what you want about the SRW series- but they know their genre and their target audience. I remember actually sheering when I saw the "SHOUT NOW!" appear on the HUD lol. They fully embrace the hot-blooded cheese with all their might, and I love the creators for it.
To be fair, Kyosuke doesn't need to be tricked to be awesome. He just do his thing, and when you piss him, he proceeds to activate every spirit he has access to, get his moral to 150 and become invincible for the rest of the battle, just to show you why you shouldn't push his buttons. Luckily for his enemies, he is hard to truly piss off, so usually he is just awesome, instead of completely invincible.
I like how Kyosuke was the quiet bad ass through the entire series up until this point when he suddenly goes apeshit and MURDERS a random grunt pilot for no reason.

Oh no, this is nowhere near "as humanly possible". The same VA, in his prime, broke two mics within the same anime, then I think once more voice acting the same character in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. EDIT: Good to know he's still got it though.

Then you have the Types T (for Test). The first one ended being used as the base for the Alt Eisen (also known as the Real that fights on the same league, power and armor wise, with the Supers), and the Mk 2 was the base for the Weiss Ritter (also known as "what was tha... AAAAAAAAARGH" thanks to Excellen being THE Sniper and later the Rein being so fast that it looks like she is shooting at you from 12 different places at the same time).
When I saw Kai give Kyosuke the Type-S for this episode, I knew it was going to happen. I bet the studio told him to cut it down to this level of screaming, because he'd break the mic doing it the way he did in OGs. Gotta love the Random Lion Pilot realizing he's going to be ended by awesome.
A moment of silence for this poor NEO DC mook that somehow is very lucky to receive a distinct facial features that make him less generic than others, who have meet his ends in the tip of the cold Gespenst's iron feet.
Let's face it, the only reason the Gespenst SA type and this scene exist, is just so they could have Kyosuke break the mic again for the lols. That's NOT a complaint by the way.

@rexurtiser The moves of Genspenst are designed by elite pilots and coded into the machine in order to make pilots' lives easier. All you have to do is pressing the button and the Gespenst will do all the rest for you. For example if you press the "punch" button it will use the same punch every time. But in pro hands, of course the other one is better. See Zengar and Folka for reference.
I think I remember this being adressed in one of the Getter series. Since SRs tend to have a buttload of different armaments and attacks, usually too many to map to any old regular controls, they usually are activated by a combination of movement and voice, justifying the fact they keep shouting their attack names.
Now I know they activated their special attacks by inputting voice command. Still, this made me smiled as I really liked using the Gespenst Kick in OG2. I'm glad it's included in the anime, a nice touch.
and I always thought that Kyousuke shouts his fave moves in a calm but overwhelming demeanor..........now I know that he Idolized Kamina and his way of shouting Giga Drill Breaker.....
@raigaLCC Alt Riese is slightly heavier than the Alteisen and Genspest Mk II-S so I think the impact from the Ultimate Kick would not only break through the opponent entirely but would also create a crater not a hole in the ground after landing that powerful one-hit finishing attack.
My guess is the studio prepared more than 10 microphones in that room. After Morikawa shouted, only 1 survived - The one that was placed at the far end of the room, while Morikawa was standing at the other end.
@TalesOfGod The Genspest Mk III was repainted in Kyosuke's colors and had additional weapons like the horn and stake added to it to make it resemble the Alteisen.
@FlayvorOfEvil In the original plans,the wurger was suppose to have the stake as well,but was removed partially due to the huckebien frame being unable to withstand the recoil of the stake,and also because of the fact that kyousuke is the only person in-universe to be able to use the alt's artillery
I think I read somewhere that Toshiyuki Morikawa's actually broken a mic once by screaming. Dunno if he did that while recording Kyosuke's lines, but still. XD

According to a friend who attended a convention Morikawa guested at, he wasn’t wearing a pin mic and was able to be heard across the entire convention hall from a “how’s everyone today?” Shout, over the din of ALL the commotion in the hall.
@KatomaMundara I take it you could call the Alt a Gespenst but I think it depends on where you draw the line. Technically, the Weiss is also a Gespenst [MkII], but I think it's fair to say neither the Alt nor Weiss are categorised as Gespesnts anymore due to the sheer amount of tuning and customisation they have recieved. Speaking of which, the Wild Falken is technically a Huckebein but again, I'm sure it comes into it's own category now.

@screwtokaiba The Alt is indeed a prototype for the Gespy MkIII, but it was cancelled, rather than failed, due to high cost. Weiss is indeed a custom MkII...most likely based on the Gespy MkII R. I don't entirely know about the Wurger, but it's probably a Huckebein MkII frame based on the specs of the Alt. The Falken uses the H frame of the Huckebein MkII but the rest are from the Gespenst MkII. The Wurger and Falken are new units based on the Hucky frame as the successor to the Alt and Weiss.
@panicedfrogg They are pretty much the same units. Weiss has the Oxtongue Launcher and Falken has Oxtongue Rifle. Alt has the Revolver Stake and Wurger has the Beetle Crusher.
@bitrel07 Correction,the alt can't fly in the atmosphere,as as the tesla drive is already cutting enough gravity for the Riese to JUST STAND,the armor is so damn heavy that,without the drive,it just kneels on the ground in a crater under id's own weight
It was recolored as to make an appearance as the people organizing the event wanted the ATX mechs there including the Alt. Most of the parts added were mainly for show (I doubt they were expecting an actual battle)
