1. You can buy alcohol-based paint/ink (what's used in sharpies) in bottles, so you don't have to blow out the ink. 2. Sharpie coloring works great on light colored synthetic wigs!! (There are nice sets, particularly those by Spectrum Noir, that have a wide chisel point as well as a thinner point (thin point works nicely for highlights/lowlights).
When I was in high school my best friend dyed her hair by highlighting her extremely dead ends with green highlighter... it stayed green for a solid week
