As much as I like the old roasting Ian, I think when this switch happened, it was for the better. Becoming a chill and calm channel was a very good move.
One of my first jobs was at an arcade! Even back then they were totally out of style and the place was always empty. There were only three employees. Anyway, one day I was really sick, so I tried to call in and the boss said that the other two had already called in, so instead of taking the day off, I had to work a double. So imagine your head is all stuffed up and you're tasked with overseeing a huge dark room full of flashing lights and weird sounds. By about hour 11 I was tripping balls so hard the chef from the adjoined pizza parlour had to come drag me out from behind a Silent Scope machine. Anyway, this game seems to do a pretty good job of capturing that feeling.
I feel the coin game is the opposite of those fake out horror games. Instead of luring you into a false sense of security, and scaring you senseless The coin game lures you into a real sense of security and you’re just paranoid
I only glossed over the thumbnail and thought it was another Coin Game vod (been watching those a lot lately), but lo and behold it's actually Main Channel Moose! This review is so freaking cozy, I love it.
I was wondering when something horrible would happen, this game has some great eerie vibes to it. On a related note, towards the end, is that a gun on your HUD? Why do you need a revolver both outside and in the arcade? Or at least a slot for a gun.
i dont get why people want it to be a horror game so bad. i love the vibe. it feels nostalgic. like a liminal space. adding actually scary things would not only be cliche but it would ruin replayability. theres a reason no one talks about slenderman anymore

I think they are trying to go with that "Playing video games until midnight" vibe but ended up with a horror show... (Also, loving this Positive Moose Game Review)
I agree. If they could do something like run an emulator and project it onto a smaller screen in-game. It needs one of those car racing arcade games with the big seats. Those were a classic. I have a fond affection for Cruise N USA.
This game has a great aesthetic. I’d honestly love an entire game that’s just a city at night simulator. Like you can just enter convenience stores and clubs, a nice apartment of your own, maybe even have people you can interact with briefly. I just would love a big version of that. Also I think what’s so great about this is that the small town at night thing is so spot on. Like yknow it’s a little spooky but like there’s probably only farmers so your not that scared.
The graphics of this game brought me back to 90's cgi and the wacky physics made me think to the glitchy gameplay of Vampire masquerade. A masterpiece as always, moosey.
I actually bought this game based off. this video and got my friend to buy it after he saw me playing it. I like these ones where you are positive about the game because, in this example, a small indie dev got two sales he may have never gotten without this video. Hope you do more of these.
I dunno. Is this going to end up developed as a horror game in the long run? The levels of difficulty and creepy atmosphere makes it feel like there's more than this surface level stuff planned.
@@MoeChicken Don't know if I would call it a twist as I don't know if it will happen. After all, Teddy and gang aren't quite stylized enough to be killers, but these could just be early skins in the development, too.
I actually really enjoy the way your videos are formatted and how you just explain the game and you explaining a chill game in a chill way makes for a nice calm video
This game legit looks really cool, I'm actually excited to see what all they add to it. Maybe they could eventually add a little carnival that you can pay to ride the rides and stuff. Perhaps they could also add like a rival arcade or something else along those lines. Or maybe they could add a hidden storyline that has you searching for specific items that do secret things that progress the story. I would definitely want the storyline to be something that you would have to go out of your way to start and finish, something in the background that you could play the whole game without realizing it was there. I don't know, this game just gives me those vibes like something could totally be there...if you would just look a little deeper.
Love this positive game review! I love this softer and kinder review, its still really funny but its also appreciative, it makes me happier to watch. I hope you like doing these because i loved this as much as I do Brutalfoods, keep up the chill vibes!
Yay! Coin Game review! Congrats on getting this one done, Ian. I'm glad you did, too...I feel like this is a game that deserves some recognition for the amount of effort put into it, and I feel like it might not've gotten that recognition otherwise. Hopefully people will take notice of it and give it a try. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game develops, really. I am especially looking forward to seeing that second arcade open, the UFO one. What games will be there? Will there be something like Teddy and the Ticket Munchers, or will it be some other, non Chuck E. Cheese's style arcade? As a side note, great job on the camerawork for the in-game shots. I'm assuming you got most of it by just recording your first person movement, but they were all smooth and framed well. It almost looked like you were using promo shots from the developer, not captured gameplay footage.

Instead of luring you into a false sense of security, and scaring you senseless
The coin game lures you into a real sense of security and you’re just paranoid
The good old "Normal places can look creepy too get fucked "
I only glossed over the thumbnail and thought it was another Coin Game vod (been watching those a lot lately), but lo and behold it's actually Main Channel Moose! This review is so freaking cozy, I love it.
I need this on Switch, I could lose myself for hours upon hours playing this game.
Get pc!
I was wondering when something horrible would happen, this game has some great eerie vibes to it. On a related note, towards the end, is that a gun on your HUD? Why do you need a revolver both outside and in the arcade? Or at least a slot for a gun.
It's a rubber-band gun, I think it's for one of the arcade games, and it just adds it in your inventory to screw around with.
@@sotngaming8282 inb4 rubber-bands save lives.
@@sotngaming8282 I can't tell if you're telling the truth or just doing damage-control to keep up the illusion...
@@Hevymin Seeing as it is an arcade based simulator, I wouldn't doubt it, it adds some more realism than... Well real life now.
The only way to stop a bad guy with a ski-ball is a good guy with a rubber band.
i dont get why people want it to be a horror game so bad. i love the vibe. it feels nostalgic. like a liminal space. adding actually scary things would not only be cliche but it would ruin replayability. theres a reason no one talks about slenderman anymore
“We’ve really only *scratched* the surface” Ian stop joking, you have a problem
I was sick in the hospital 2 years ago and this was the first video i watched when i got home and i always come back to it. Thanks for making everyones life better Ian
TIL Ian is a gambling addict
"All you have to do is gamble enough and then you're a millionaire."
If it ever gets multiplayer, you and @penutbuttergamer should totally play together.
I like this episode, it felt a lot more chill than the usual ones!
Also, seeing you with your legs crossed on your chair is adorable, gotta say
I didn't even notice his crossed legs! I scrolled up and went "awwwww" lol
I’ve watched this video at least 20 times, I keep coming back to it and I don’t know why. This is one of his greatest videos in my opinion.
i still can't stop. help.
2 years later.. I'm still rewatching this.
I forgot the last time there was a game review here, it's mostly been a cooking show it felt like.
After this video and your Moose2 stream VODs, I finally bought The Coin Game for myself. As someone whose family used to own and operate a food and a jewelry concession trailer for fairs, the festival area brought me back!
When Ian mentioned Candystand, I felt the sudden urge to cry. As if...longing.
Charles Stiles same 😥

I just want to say. that you make me always feel so content with life whenever I watch your videos. I can just listen to someone talk about a nostalgic topic which just makes me feel just so happy. I love your videos so so much. Please keep being fantastic
Ah, the age-old game of Poop Bucket. A classic.
I've only played the traveling carnival version, Waffle Stomp. It's like whack-a-mole but much worse
Just got this today, weirdly really fun lol.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Ian has VOD streams playing this game on his second channel Moose2 :-) his streams are wonderful I highly recommend
I think they are trying to go with that "Playing video games until midnight" vibe but ended up with a horror show...
(Also, loving this Positive Moose Game Review)
They did a good job with the Arcade Games. If only it had a few more of the gun games and old fashioned Arcade games
I agree. If they could do something like run an emulator and project it onto a smaller screen in-game. It needs one of those car racing arcade games with the big seats. Those were a classic. I have a fond affection for Cruise N USA.
No Pinball or Gachapon, either.
Wouldn't one of those car driving arcade games with the steering wheel be cool as well?
This game has a great aesthetic. I’d honestly love an entire game that’s just a city at night simulator. Like you can just enter convenience stores and clubs, a nice apartment of your own, maybe even have people you can interact with briefly. I just would love a big version of that.
Also I think what’s so great about this is that the small town at night thing is so spot on. Like yknow it’s a little spooky but like there’s probably only farmers so your not that scared.
GAME REVIEW Just watch Ian and caddy will start fighting again
That would be the best crossover
The graphics of this game brought me back to 90's cgi and the wacky physics made me think to the glitchy gameplay of Vampire masquerade. A masterpiece as always, moosey.
I actually bought this game based off. this video and got my friend to buy it after he saw me playing it. I like these ones where you are positive about the game because, in this example, a small indie dev got two sales he may have never gotten without this video. Hope you do more of these.
Thanks so much for showing off this game. I picked it up last week and I've loved it. The addition of survival mode has been really fun.
Yesss Ian! I'm so happy to see a notification from you 😊😊😊
man its crazy seeing you on the leaderboards when i play the game lol. good video!
I think this video needed something, something's missing... It's more Jamaician Banana. Please more Jamaican Banana.

Brutalmoose returns to video games after years of other things and everyone is like "hey this isn't food"
I dunno. Is this going to end up developed as a horror game in the long run? The levels of difficulty and creepy atmosphere makes it feel like there's more than this surface level stuff planned.
That would be a good twist.
Is it a twist if everyone's expecting it?
EDIT: Okay, yeah, upon further consideration, it's still a twist. Just a predictable one.
@@MoeChicken Don't know if I would call it a twist as I don't know if it will happen. After all, Teddy and gang aren't quite stylized enough to be killers, but these could just be early skins in the development, too.
@Kirby Stole My Hat Maybe. Just listening to my gut feeling.
I actually really enjoy the way your videos are formatted and how you just explain the game and you explaining a chill game in a chill way makes for a nice calm video
Glad you finally made a proper video about this because you stream it constantly
I hope BM makes a follow up video on the coin game, it's even more cosy now.
They did add a carnival at some point, and you can ride the rides lol.
Now the ufo is a rival! Lets see if the last thing is right.
a hidden mystery, but not necessarily horror
Honestly, I love Go Vacation, and it was one of my favorite games as a child. I thought nobody has ever heard of it, but I am glad brutalmoose has heard of it at least.
I think you should do a follow up review because the game has a whole new survival mode and a carnival and even a new arcade.
What the hell. I've been subbed to this dude for years, but always ignored his videos in my sub since I didn't really know him. But... his videos are so comfortable. & happy. I've been missing out.

That banana reminds me of when that one guy spent his entire life savings on a carnival game just to win one of those giant stuffed bananas
Wait WAT-
I like how one of the prizes is literally one of those Rasta bananas you can win at state and county fairs. It gives me a strange and specific feeling of nostalgia.
Hey, Ian! VOD watcher here. It's been a few months since you streamed The Coin Game, so I just wanted to let you know that the survival mode was added like three weeks after the last time you played on-stream, in case you don't already know. :)
Really enjoyed the stream you did for this game. I had so much fun i actually went to steam and bought the game for myself. Thanks for the great video Ian! I'm sure ill enjoy the game as much as you did
Don’t exit the arcade, if you do, a nintendo switch ad will jumpscare you
I'm so genuinely happy for having a new game video, and so much more because this feels way more laid back and comfy in a way... I too feel like I've grown since I've discovered your channel, and watching you shift the focus of the channel felt a bit like that friend you don't hang around with that often anymore... Like yeah he's fun and all, but it doesn't feel quite as it used to be... This felt so good somehow, so thank you Ian, you're amazing, and keep doing the content you want to make
*A GAMING REVIEW IAN? IT'S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE I'VE SEEN SUCH BRAVERY*
this looks like a game that's genuinely really fun that i could get lost in for hours at a time but DAMN rasta banana is going to haunt my dreams
Dude, Poop Bucket is my favorite arcade game!
wish you would come back to this, would love to see what you think of the new stuff they added
The graphics actually remind me of Job Simulator, and that makes me think this might be eventually (or was originally?) aimed at VR.
What a presentation, man! The panning shots really give that "vacation tour" vibe or something. And what an outro, amirite?
Your rich uncle is the final boss of this game, confirmed
I love how the game has this eerie atmosphere but nothing actually bad happens.
You should totally do an updated video for this! He's added so many more games and different arcade locations!
Survival is actually a ton of fun.
@@TruFalco agreed!
Didn't realize how much I missed Brutlemoose covering games. This was refreshing!
This video made me go and buy the game. Which, even though I had to turn it to potato to play the game, turned out to be VERY worth it and a lot of fun. Thumbs up and a big thank you for pointing this one out!
What a neat little game. We still have an arcade where I live, but I definitely see much less of them these days. I have a lot of fond memories at the arcades.
