oh man. I have to listen to it fully sometime. I just checked it out a little and it sounds amazing. Thanks! He'll be a great addition to my Tigran Hamasyan playlist :)
The feels... they hurt... Oh, the feels, the feels! Gosh, this song is so... comforting. Reminds me of when everything was perfect and peaceful every day, and I didn't have a worry in the world.
This is beautiful. I knew Misha's chord progressions were fantastic, but hearing them on a piano just confirms it. Jazz metal I would call this and its great.
This is immensely beautiful. Periphery should get a lot of props for the musical complexity they put in, but I don't know that I fully appreciated it until I heard it on piano.
Wow, hearing this on piano makes it sound like something Bartok or Barber would have written, especially with all the time signature changes and the percussive and dense polychords in the middle. Cool stuff.
That was truly astonishing. So many nuances of this piece are glorified through your rendition. It really is amazing how beautiful and emotive metal can become when heard through the voices of instruments other than the guitar. Respect where respect is due. Great job mate!!!
Some people may refer to it as sloppy... I honestly think that the feeling of a performance is wayyyy more important than the timing. And even when it is ever so slightly "off tempo" or "sloppy" or whatever, it just seems to give the piece a bit of a more jazzy feel. That's just what I get from it. In my eyes, this is 100% perfect music!! :) :)
So strange that I never even noticed the complex harmony of this songs verse, but man, this is just brilliant playing. Herbie Hancock would be proud ;)
The power of youtube. It wouldn't surprise me if the boys managed to get you for a side project, or just a little recording, I mean, I'd love to hear a stripped back version of some of the songs, maybe with Spencer or some acoustic stuff or something completely left of centre. I mean, this translates so well onto piano I'd totally buy it. Amazing.
You're an amazing player! People who dislike these amazing pieces (especially when performed so well) are either jealous or the type who listen to only one genre of music and anything from that genre. Keep up this amazing talent and u will go far. You're stupendous! Don't let anyone let you believe otherwise! (Yet, stay humble!) d: -Thresh & Blitz w/
Been coming back to this cover for years and years, it’s immortal! Would die to hear your take on First Sun by Karmanjakah, think it too would suit as a prog-piano-cover
Its really amazing the sound youve achieved here! and the interpretation is such a piece of art!, Can i ask you about the kinds of Microphones Youve used here?
Beautiful Work! Congratulations Man! Unfortunately some people don´t aprecciate this kind of music when it´s played with heavy distortions and drums... otherwise, if they hear it in a piano, they think it´s beautiful.
Thumbs up if you think this dude needs to do the whole album!
Agreed and then a full orchestra covering the rest.
117th like. This is my lucky number. 6 Years later this is destiny
if he does i will happily sponser him some money!!, absoloute legend for the free sheet music!!
i still feel this way
The opening chord progression will just never get old! Probably one of the most fragile and melancholic chord progressions I’ve ever heard in my life.
More proof that Periphery is literally just Jazz and I’m 100% here for it
Everything is jazz
Damn, Periphery really have written some absolutely beautiful melodies and chord progressions.
I know right. That bridge section from 1:52 is beautiful
Yep, you can really the Nobuo Uematsu influence in this track (Misha has stated that he is a massive influence on his compositions in the past).
10 years ago but still 🔥
i think progressive music make for the best piano covers
Have you checked Jordan Rudess's Notes On A Dream? :)
oh man. I have to listen to it fully sometime. I just checked it out a little and it sounds amazing. Thanks!
He'll be a great addition to my Tigran Hamasyan playlist :)
I want to see someone to a piano cover of anything dream theater or steven wilson. I think it'd be impossible.
Definitely
It is cause the chords are always so.beautiful.
Tuning? String gauge?
Chris Calderon acutally it's just f-standard, isn't it? ;)
+Michele Perrone also, tabs pls.
+Chris Calderon your shit made my day bruh xD
+Chris Calderon Now that's a djent setup if I ever heard one
loool
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDEEE
hey that was pretty solid.
I could not hit that Like button any harder. This cover is spot on. I'd buy a whole CD devoted to Periphery piano covers.
The feels... they hurt...
Oh, the feels, the feels!
Gosh, this song is so... comforting. Reminds me of when everything was perfect and peaceful every day, and I didn't have a worry in the world.
WHY AM I JUST NOW SEEING THIS IN 2019, IT'S BEAUTIFUL!
Checking in from four years in the future to say the same thing. This rips!!
2024 and finding this.
This is beautiful. I knew Misha's chord progressions were fantastic, but hearing them on a piano just confirms it. Jazz metal I would call this and its great.
And the fact that it is Periphery just makes it that much more beautiful.
Final Fantasy Periphery
It’s funny you say that because I’m pretty certain Misha has mentioned Nobuo Uematsu as one of his favourite composers!
@@brandontadday6288 See "Thanks Nobuo" off of Periphery V lol.
Can we get a Periphery piano instrumental album? Seriously, that would be sweet.
This is immensely beautiful. Periphery should get a lot of props for the musical complexity they put in, but I don't know that I fully appreciated it until I heard it on piano.
Still the best Periphery cover all these years later
So many chills
Wow, hearing this on piano makes it sound like something Bartok or Barber would have written, especially with all the time signature changes and the percussive and dense polychords in the middle. Cool stuff.
i didn´t expect a piano cover of periphery to sound so good!
It's the sign of a truly good song that it can sound awesome on any instrument capable of playing it, keep up the good work.
Absolutely gorgeous, great idea!
This is totally amazing! It's so cool that you covered this song on piano. I have almost never heard someone play the piano like this before. 😃🎹
Holy shit this is amazing! Well done on the chorus, it brought tears to my eyes:')
All New Materials is probably my favourite song of theirs, and it sounds beautiful played on the piano!
Thank you for doing this!
That was truly astonishing. So many nuances of this piece are glorified through your rendition. It really is amazing how beautiful and emotive metal can become when heard through the voices of instruments other than the guitar. Respect where respect is due. Great job mate!!!
This guy must be an angel, and not a demonspawn to be this awesome.
Pure talent! Every part of this cover was AWESOME! Keep it up! GOOSEBUMPS ALL THE WAY!
Absolutely breathtaking. Wow
wow! that is an incredible piece on the piano. fantastic playing
I love it when skillful musicians do skillful covers of skillful artists.
Wow absolutely amazing sounds just like the instrumental of the song !
Mannnn, every periphery song- when put to piano version it just sound so right
It's fantastic....I have no words for this poetry.
So strange that I never even noticed the complex harmony of this songs verse, but man, this is just brilliant playing. Herbie Hancock would be proud ;)
Absolutely outstanding.
this is by FAR the best cover i have seen in a very long time, good work, keep it up!
Not gonna lie, parts were so beautiful that I teared up a bit.
The power of youtube. It wouldn't surprise me if the boys managed to get you for a side project, or just a little recording, I mean, I'd love to hear a stripped back version of some of the songs, maybe with Spencer or some acoustic stuff or something completely left of centre. Dude, this is sheer brilliance. AMAZING.
this is so fusion jazzy.. lovely
Brilliant!
All it takes is one person to transfer metal into a more beautiful state. That my friend is you. Thank you!
👍🙏 this is one of the most bad ass covers I've seen in a while. Thank you for making this!
2:00 and on - SO DRAMATIC!! I love it! Great job with this!!
I wasn't expecting the heavy part to be so accurate, great job
It shows the complexity - am playing by myself both piano & the hard stuff: you made it!
You're an amazing player! People who dislike these amazing pieces (especially when performed so well) are either jealous or the type who listen to only one genre of music and anything from that genre.
