just got my tsr3 4w 16.5 on tensei blue 65g R , i am 3yo golfer 20hdp and it is wonderful. i think most people should get interested in w4 and higher as we have less club head speed it work so much better with few more loft. listen to the GOAT my friends. nice review thanks
Great work Mike....had my TsR fitting and I never thought anything would be better than my TSi2 15* 3wood and the TsR3 blew it up....longer much better ball speeds and in my opinion better sound. They are amazing....thanks for the content
Went for a fairway wood fitting yesterday and admittedly went in expecting to get the Stealth. However, the TSR3 sounded better and most importantly performed better across the board for me. Both great clubs but I went with the TSR3. Hoping the hybrids perform just as well when they come out.
Sure would love to see you do a review on their 16.5 degree 4 wood. For us non pros, just like you say, a 3 wood isn’t the easiest to hit. Sure would be nice to see what kind of potential distances a person could get with their 4 wood 16.5 degree
I too would love to see a review of the 16.5 and the 5 woods. 5 wood reviews arehard to come by when there is a general shift of golfers moving away from 3 woods.
With a 4 wood you can definitely go a little steeper off the deck, I have the TSi2 4 wood and I can hit it pretty good. The good thing about Titleist woods and drivers is that you can change the loft and lie angle easily to suit your game. The 4 wood does have a smaller profile than the 3 wood but the descent angle is higher and will stop quicker on greens, If you have a slower swing speed a 4 wood (or even a 5 wood) would be good to consider getting. I'll give you one example: one youtube amateur golfer by the name of Mia Baker does not carry a 3 wood, but instead carries a 5 wood. The only real way to determine what suits you is to either get fitted or to try them out at your local golf shop.
i hear you my brother ! so many people should get interested in low lofted woods they make wonders casual to mid+ ! but sadely marketing push people to think they'll be longer with less loft but they can't match the club head speed ... i never had a wood in my bag (3yo golfer 20hcp) now that i am good with drive , iron, wedges, i just got a tsr3 4w 16.5 65g rflex and it is just wonderful, work SO MUCH better than a 3woods for me ... listen to the GOAT !
I've played Titleist drivers almost exclusively since around 2008-09. Never found a fairway I liked and I've owned a bunch of them. Maybe this is the year but it'd have to be pretty good to kick G425 out.
Your set up is exactly the same as mine. Went for a TSR fitting, ordered the TSR3 driver but STILL could not launch the fairways from the turf, so G425 remains .
Never could get on with a 3 wood until I picked up a Cobra F9. Now I can hit off the deck with confidence and it’s pretty decent off the tee too. Going to be hard to bump that one out of my bag.
So the tsi2 flew higher right? I am never fully happy with my titliest 3 woods.off the deck. I do fine with hybrids long irons 5 woods (for distance and shot dispersion etc.) but never fully happy with my 3 wood off the deck. It’s usually “slightly on the low side” So does the tsr2 flight slightly higher ?
I played Callaway wood Taylormade Stealth 1 & 2 driver . Titleist is my gamer now. Just Looks classier to me. 😊And the quality is also better as far as I can tell. Mid-handicapper here.
Seems like the 3 has the deeper face/higher sweet spot when hitting off the deck. I expect off the deck #s to be better with TSR2 and off the tee numbers to be better with the TSR3.
Nice review, thx👍. I wish Trackman had an extra row showing the maximum difference in deviation, e.g. launch angle tsr3 would be 4 as lowest 8.1 & highest 12.1 to show the real difference in performance as on the course that’s what you see. Any idea how they calculate 1.4 deviation on that line?
Not a proficient striker of fairway woods so I would gravitate towards the TSR2 and with my club head speed I would likely do better with a 4 or 5 wood loft as opposed to a 3
I don't feel like I'm a long hitter by any means..I'll be 52 in January. I'm hitting my Titleist GT2 3 wood right at 265 carry..bounces and rolls out to close to 280. Definitely needed a 5 wood so ai just picked up a new TSR2 5 wood....anxious to hit it..thinking it'll be a good 250-255 carry club for me..I'm a high ball hitter still even as I age...carry the u505 3 utility iron and it's 240 for me. 4 iron 227..5 iron 213...6 iron 197..7 iron is 180..8 iron 164...9 iron 148 .pw 134 50 gap 118 54 sand 104. HZRDUS 6.0 in all of my woods and my utility. Aerotech steelfiber i95 stiff in my MP223's.

I too hit both and the TSR2 was absolutely magnificent!

TSR 3 Driver and 13.5 3W going in the bag soon. The very top and very bottom of my bag is now going to be all Titleist.

Just ordered the 13.5 and 18.0 TSR3 after a Titleist fitting day. Absolutely loved the compact look and the feel was great.
Beautiful aren’t they
Nice review Michael. I really like the looks of the TSR3 fairway. Looking forward to trying it out.
I just bought the TSR3 15*.
How did the offset compare btwn TSR3 and TSR2? I currently game the TSi2 15deg and i love it but my only complaint is too much offset for me.
Great review
i very rarely hit my 3w off the deck so i went with the tsr2+ , i may never hit my driver ever again!!
I've played Titleist drivers almost exclusively since around 2008-09. Never found a fairway I liked and I've owned a bunch of them. Maybe this is the year but it'd have to be pretty good to kick G425 out.
I liked the D3 915 15 degree but I have issue getting the ball into the air off the deck (I hit em fine off tees and long)

I'm sure I would hate it like every other titleist wood ever made... but yea, they look good!!

Did you ever do the TSR2+ video?
Great review. I might be a Titleist guy soon. These clubs look and seem to perform amazing.
You won’t regret it. I’ve played a lot of brands and models, and absolutely nothing compares to the feel of Titleist!

Correct, 3 is a touch deeper

I like your styling! Which brand are you wearing?
Clothing? Galvin Green
Hope you have a clothing contract, Galvin Green makes nice stuff but it’s pricey.

Beautiful clubs with the TSR series but too rich for my blood.
TSR3 fairway 10 yards longer than my TS3 fairway.
TSR2+ Mike, coming soon?
Waiting on it to arrive…
@@MichaelNewtonGolf Look forward to the TSR2+ review! Always enjoy your videos.
Agreed, never liked the look if titleist fairways

I'd rather pay you for lessons than get a new club, sadly I live in the USA 🙁
Then leave

I just wish they would lose the white lines on the face. Almost perfect.
