being able to recognize and point out the features in a character just by their silhouette contributes to how remarkable and/or unique they are, and genshin does that pretty damn well.
That's what gave me the final push to play genshin back when we had the silhouette bug around Liyue patch. Good silhouette already defines great design 🔥 It's so cool to see the bug in the character selection version!!! 💜

From a design point of view, you immediately recognize the character just by a dark outline. Props to the design team at hoyoverse

It's actually a way of designing characters. In pvp games with heroes or classes, it's even more important so you know who is what at a glance.

right, that's why the chunkier silhouettes on recent splash arts are so disappointing because they're virtually indistinguishable when you're wishing
