La Hermandad de Zamarrilla, cuyo nombre oficial es Real y Excelentísima Hermandad de Nuestro Padre Jesús del Santo Suplicio, Santísimo Cristo de los Milagros y María Santísima de la Amargura Coronada “Zamarrilla”, es una corporación Pública de culto católico bajo la autoridad inmediata de la Iglesia, Obispado de Málaga, y tiene su Sede Canónica en la Ermita de Zamarrilla. La Hermandad está sujeta a sus propios estatutos, a las disposiciones del Ilustrísimo. Sr. Obispo y al Derecho Canónico en general, así como al derecho común que le pueda corresponder como corporación sin ánimo de lucro. Esta corporación se constituye como Hermandad de Penitencia por dar culto a momentos de la Pasión y Muerte del Señor y al dolor de su Santísima Madre.
A finales del siglo XVIII se constituye formalmente esta Hermandad que en la castiza ermita de la calle Mármoles se erigió para venerar a la llamada Cruz de Zamarrilla. Sufrió una importante reactivación entrado ya el siglo XX, eligiendo como su Titular al Cristo del Santo Suplicio y a la Dolorosa de la Amargura.
The Brotherhood of Zamarrilla, whose official name is the Royal and Most Excellent Brotherhood of Our Father Jesus of the Holy Torment, Most Holy Christ of Miracles and Most Holy Mary of Bitterness Crowned (Zamarrilla), is a public corporation of Catholic worship under the immediate authority of the Church, Bishopric of Málaga, and has its Canonical Headquarters in the Hermitage of Zamarrilla. The Brotherhood is subject to its own statutes, to the provisions of the Illustrious Mr. Bishop and Canon Law in general, as well as the common law that may correspond to you as a non-profit corporation. This corporation is constituted as a Brotherhood of Penance for worshiping moments of the Passion and Death of the Lord and the pain of his Blessed Mother.
At the end of the 18th century, this Brotherhood was formally constituted, which was erected in the traditional hermitage on Calle Mármoles to venerate the so-called Cruz de Zamarrilla. It underwent an important reactivation already entered the 20th century, choosing as its Holder the Christ of the Holy Torment and the Dolorosa de la Amargura.
