Try using a large bladed salmon spinner in chartreuse or orange . The reason being is that this time of year there are some huge largemouth bass that move from the closure zone to the main pond and the bright color blades work for the bigger trout as well. Released a 12.5lb bass very close to the area with large rock shown in video
How goes it Jimbo? Funny thing is we actually own a Large Bladed (and beeded) Salmon Spinner in Chartreuse. May even have Orange. But... yeah doubt we'd target Bass there Jimbo, mainly as we can get them in the Delta, but Trout a bit harder to get in the Delta. So we will goto the Lakes & Rivers for Trout. As you probably already know boss they have Catfish there also, still we rarely target them also. Funny you mention it thou, we use to Bass fish LOTS. As of late we rarely do... been thinking on doing just a LMB fishing day. Thou Lea's had the Trout itch and I've had a Striper itch as of late. Btw 12.5 pound Bass is HUGE! Right on for pointing out the rock. Waiting my time thou to hook into a 30" + Striper. P.S. Brighter blades for the Trout.. yeah water EVERYWHERE has been so muddy after the storm. Ken & Lea
@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 RE: The Dept of Fish and Wildlife, You can put your Fishing license info into a smart phone thus never need the actual paper copy.. Thanks David... I felt it was large. But I had no idea it would be the largest we've caught. Ever. So far :) We actually weighed it at home. It was 25" and 7.1 pounds. Our previous Trout record was Lea's at 23" and 6 pounds at Lake Camanche. Haha that was the 2nd time DFG booted me out for forgetting my license. I remember it FAR more than forget. Hope you enjoyed the vid boss.. hope this year goes sweet for you as well David! Ken & Lea
Trout was bigger than I thought, congats on your PB. I leave my license in my wallet, never leave home without. Good video thanks @@hershisadventuresincalifor9725
Thanks JU! Question for you... of the Trout you've caught. How well does this size compare? Again it was 25" and weighed in at 7.1 pounds. Was it really considered a fairly large or huge? Do they get much larger? Thanks buddy.... Ken & Lea
@@hershisadventuresincalifor9725 Yes, they do get bigger! My daughter’s PB weighed in at 7 lbs 2 oz. Mine was at 8 lbs 8 oz. BUT both of these were from 2011!!! Haven’t come close for a rainbow trout since then…. 👍
I love mom and pop stores would rather shop at those places, they just don't make any money from selling a license, the whole state of California its the same price
Oh yeah I do also for sure! On a side note... we do hope you're actually enjoying the videos as a whole. The fishing, battles, catches, the video editing, music. By all means always helpful to hear parts people are enjoying, and the part's they're not. Few mention such....

Yeah didn't go super great but pretty sure we can make a video out of it. Weather was incredible... ended up going for Trout again. Still will be a few till I can get the video edited and up for view.
Good day... many spots we fish are probably no good for people under 14. However, we do know some NICE spots for the younger as well. As they are safer, cleaner and have amenities. Get familiar with these locations. **Prices at some spots are a bit more on Weekends & Holidays** On a side note we are honored and hope you enjoy our Fishing Videos! Lea & Ken
No doubt we were shocked when we saw it near shore. Lea noticed it's size first. Odd thing... you'd expect a Trout of that size to be from a Main Lake. Not a city Pond/Tiny Lake. Thanks for watching hope you're enjoying the Fishing Videos! Tight lines... Ken & Lea
I hear you.... that's the 2nd time and video where I had Game Warden's kick me out due to forgetting it at home. So not like we're trying to get a free ride here.... sadly Lea said she hooked something huge shortly after I went to get my license but it broke the line!
So Why Even get your license online?? Just go to your local sports shop and support them. I myself mostly hit up the mom and pop places for them. Please support your local sports shop and you are making a difference.
Ummm don't know anything about ordering them online. I always pick mine up from a sporting goods store. Most times we buy bait from the smaller shops, but how about that Trout? On a side note we hope you enjoy the Fishing Video(s)! Ken & Lea
Haha right on boss... but hard to get too much smaller. For the Rooster Tail those are about 1" long. The Clay Powerbait we're using tiny size 12 hooks. However, that Spoon haha yeah that was a bit large. Just don't own many Spoon's yet and it sure looked eye catching. Had hoped it'd work. Or was there something else we were casting that I missed? On a side note hope you're enjoying the Fishing Videos buddy! Ken & Lea
Mom and pop stores don't make any money off selling licenses, or any other place just the gov. Selling them just attracts business the stores selling them make no revenue
Well, I'm a person of efficiency Greg. Mainly juggling time my friend. Thus I do agree with you "totally" about supporting Mom and Pop stores. Mainly over places like Walmart (we don't need company monopoly's). But... if I'm pressed for time, or it's too far away and so on... yeah I'll pick other options. Hey kinda cool seeing inside those smalls shops also ain't it? Or just me? Hehe
Just getting ready to start editing the next Fishing Video. I work hard to get to all messages as promptly as I can... for sure! Just excuse any delays.... hope this next video came out and comes out well! If you all don't smile or looking away from the video too much then I'm failing my job! Course... no way EVERYONE will enjoy the same thing so there is that.... sighs.... hehe
