Newman was one of the greatest characters
and the way the others interact with him almost makes him seem like "the star of the show who wasn't really the star of the show", he's just drama central whenever he's around the other characters
George Costanza the greatest hero of the show… Neumann comes a close 2nd, then Kramer distant 3rd followed by Jackie Chiles Lawyer and then Mr Bookman + Soup Nasi + Crazy Joe Devola & of course Frank Kostanza his dad. ….lastly the impeccable Mr SteinBrenner…..JERRYsienfeld-the most annoying with 0 actingSills ….. ….

Newman was simply delightful in his own quirky sinister way. A perfect satellite to the core cast. Every scene with him was a sheer treat. My vote goes to his country lawyer scene where Kramer wanted to “become a banker” The whole scene never fails to crack me up. Even the well reserved and amazingly tolerant judge was just perfect. They don’t make TV like this anymore. Unfortunately.

Newman is such a great side character. I am also super surprised the whole bit with the Muffin tops and him being a "cleaner" didn't make it on this list. The pulp fiction reference is amazing.
The greatest Newman moment was when he was suppose to pick up the Calzones for George and he called in sick because of the rain. The way he snatches the money and slams the door in George's face always makes me laugh.
Everyone loved this character and Larry David had the good sense to just give us a taste every once in a while.
My favorite Newman moments that didn't make your list are when he shows up to help Elaine and Mr. Lipman out at their muffin top shop and when he's being led into the office to meet with the Postmaster General. He has a bucket on his head and he whispers to Kramer, "Tell the world my story".

When you think that this show also had the character of Jackie Chile's, played by Phil Morris, it's legacy is secured.
