I had one for a very long time and I switched to the Warm Audio Centavo. Honestly, the SF is not a bad overdrive but it's a bad Klon. I mean, if you're not chasing the best Klon out there, it's a good pedal that's very good at this price point. I used it a lot with a BD-2 and a Proco Rat and it was my special weapon on stage. But it has a "honkiness" with the gain turned up that no Klon type has. If you like the SF, you'll fall in love with the Boss OD-3. It's a fantastic overdrive too
I love top jacks and power too. MXR is the worst with the power being on the side. It’s so close to the input jack that some of my pancake plugs don’t fit, and there’s not enough clearance to turn the power plug and route the power wire upwards cleanly. My MXR Reverb is just like your Carbon Copy.
My Soul Food is always on, first on my board behind the tuner. I've got a Earthquaker Plumes and a RAT after it, the Soul Food is the secret sauce in front of both of those.
It's everything *but* transparent, and that's a *good* thing! There's an instantly recognisable and not in any way subtle midboost, as with *most* overdrives. For the deaf, an easy way to hear this is to AB it with an overdrive that *doesn't* have that midboost present, such as the BD-2, or by simply running it through a graphical EQ in your DAW and observing with your eyes. Perhaps stop listening to industry buzzwords and start listening to what is actually coming our of your amp?
I have one on my fly board. Dig it with a knobs set to 11ish o clock or with the gain cranked. Anywhere in the middle, I feel the clean and dirt blend is a bit wonky. But yeah, great pedal.
You don't wanna show the barcode? What someone's claim they have that serial number? Someone's gunna steal it? I don't get why ppl hide a number on gear

Isnt that pedal a Klon clone modded to ehx taste, I mean is a Klon i dont see whats so special about it there are lots of clones out there.
