I can't believe the county makes you live there with a camping permit if he owns the property, that's just crazy to me. I personally believe if you own a property you should be able to do with it and on it whatever you want as long as it's not hurting no one.
I love that you figured out how to be together but have separate space, too. Many happy years together!

Oh, wow! This is my most favorite tiny home I've ever seen! I love everything about it- the warm wood, the reclaimed wood from your family home, the tree graphics, the paint colors, the skylight, the patterns, the decor....all of it! Your story is so inspiring! I have a little She Shed that I have some expansion ideas for and although I was planning on a second story with 4 sides of windows to look at stars and the general view, I want to incorporate sky lights because of your story, so I can use a telescope to watch the sky. Thanks for the tour!👍😎👍

Lol since 2020, when I purchased my vintage motorhome, I bought the same wallpaper and installed in my 1976 rv! I live in as I transition from the city , a lovely Victorian I loved yet reluctantly had to sell due to this country’s economic climate and tenants that feel they don’t have to pay rent ….
Can’t wait to begin my life down south, on my own land to homestead off grid! ❤

Of course you need a red refrigerator!! :) Love the tile and wood floors. Love the land. Not too crazy about those stairs and the loft but once your'e up there it seems very cozy. So glad she is doing so well and that she found a nice partner!
It is just gorgeous, what a great job, even down to the lovely curtains in the bay window. That window adds another dimension. My concern is that you don't have a fire break around the house and too many trees in close proximity to the tiny house, that could fall. Better to clear and replace with native shrubs, or smaller trees that are less dangerous. I have used the same yellow colour on the walls before in Australia. We call it shortbread. In your tiny house it gives so much warm. Well done.

This is crazy small-world stuff!
Watching this video, seeing the build, then seeing the "local" newspaper story, I was struck by lightning...I lived 2 miles up the road from where Jillian built her tiny house (and still own my very small house there, so she surely knows where I mean), the moment she said "8519 feet in elevation" and I saw the surroundings, I knew exactly where she was, but never met her or knew the story of what it was doing there being built in G********n...I was fascinated watching it under construction.
Now, here I am in Hawaii, now living in my own ground-bound tiny house, and see her and her tiny house on this channel...it is just kinda...mind-blowing!

When I saw you open it up, I could envision a critter jumping in there and not wanting to leave. As someone who's had the immense displeasure of "uninvited guests" in my attic, I really don't want that for you.❤️

What a really cute tiny home. I am building a tiny 400 square foot one bedroom apartment for my daughter behind my home here in Northern California and it costing $200,000 I swear the builder is telling me every day that he is not making any money because of the increased cost of supplies. I am sick of the cost of this project. I am hoping that it will help my daughter save some money for several years so that one day she can buy a small little home or piece of property. Etc… I am in the process of looking for a small parcel of land 2-5 acres of so to build my own little tiny home, own garden and little paradise. God willing🙏🏾 I can hardly wait, i am so tired of living here in the city with all these people around all the time. hoping my daughter’s place will be done by February 2023, just started framing looking good so far…

A beautifully told love story of a human and her tiny, both utterly charming, both of such manifestly sound character too. The bathroom seemed to have a little indoor metal roof of its own with a “chimney” to vent moisture. I thought it was an adorable and practical touch. I did wonder about moisture management, especially with propane stove and heat, but assume that the bathroom vent and loft cross-breezes work together in the mild-ish PNW climate to manage it. Alexis and Christian, you are just the best storytellers! Thanks to you, Jillian and her partner for sharing theirs. A warm shout-out to Jillian’s mom too!❤

It might be a good idea to get a fire extinguisher there. I noticed that the curtains hang next to the Dickenson heater, and you mentioned how hot it get.

Why are they only allowed a camping permit for 120 days on their own property? Is it because they have a tiny home? The location is spectacular! I currently live downtown Denver and can absolutely appreciate where Jillian is coming from regarding the rents here. I'm not building my own TH, but have the builder, etc., picked out for when I get ready to roll and eventually move out of Denver and CO as well. I love how cozy their home is and all the unique little touches that have been added. That bay window with the stained glass hanging in it is so beautiful!
They don’t allow RVs, or tiny houses on wheels, to be used more than 120 days. Which is silly. 🙃 Best wishes with your tiny home plans!
