I agree. I think it's best to start out with something as similar to your bio hair color and style as possible. Putting on your first wig is often a shock. Don't get discouraged if you feel disappointed the first time you put on a wig. It happened to me. I recommend styling it as you would your own hair (they rarely look the way you want them to out of the box) and wearing it around the house until you feel comfortable wearing it out. Then I was seriously ill & had a lot of medication & my hair just started falling out & it has never grown back as thick. It is now very thin & I was getting quite depressed about it - silly i know! It's not silly at all. Hair is a big part of how we look and feel. For me, I was hesitant at first about wearing wigs, but once I decided to take the leap, I am so glad I did. I tell everyone so that I don't feel like I'm trying to hide something, and now it's just another fashion accessory. Every day I'm excited about what I'm going to wear and which hair will complete my outfit the best. I've noticed that how you wear your wigs (fun & confident) really affects the way people react. Yes, get used to the one you have and start to learn what you like and what you don't like. There is a difference between manufacturers, fibers, features, etc...Eventually, you may get to the point where you want to change up your style often. That looked lovely on you Frannie! I imagine it is worth the investment to go to a wig parlour to start, then pick up different wigs as you see them at affordable price points. It seems as though it might be hard to stop at just one or two - oh lord, if i take the plunge, i hope it doesn't get like my yarn addiction! I'll have to buy bigger condo!
The wig shop was a great start for me, because the topper I got matched my hair and style so well (since he cut it for me). It was pricey though...$500 for a synthetic topper including the cut, shampoo and dry shampoo products. I just didn't even know where to begin. In retrospect, $500 could buy me a few higher end clearance wigs or many affordable wigs...I just ordered 8 wigs for just a smidge more than that for the affordable wig series. It may be worth it to find a wig you think you like, search for reviews on it, and take the plunge. I would recommend trying to match your current style and color just so it won't be such a shock. And yes...just as addicting as yarn! I'm working on how to store them.💕💕
Thank you for the review. The color looks very similar to your natural color that you wear. I am grey so wearing a color wig would be too drastic for me. I’ve been to Paula Young site before and nothing was close to my hair style and limited options.

Honestly, you look great in every wig you’ve shown us! You’re lucky that your husband supports you. Mine, not so much. Maybe over time he’ll change his mind. As for me, I have a huge head and very, very short layered hair, so the choices I’ve seen on the wig sites are very limited. I like looking at them though. 😊
It does help to have support! My husband was a little ambivalent at first, but he knew my thinning hair was bothering me. I think it's been a process for both of us. I'll let you know if I come across any wigs that fit your description. Thanks so much for watching!😘💕

The hair looks very natural. Does it take a lot of time to put the wig on and get it looking right. I have never tried a wig, but I have considered trying extensions. My hair has always been very fine, but I used to have more than twice the hair I have now.

Okay, it is possible to use low heat on non heat-friendly wigs. It sounds like the tangling was more of the issue. Once you send the pics, hopefully I'll have some ideas.

I love EW… I have United in Tobacco rooted which is a beautiful medium brown with blond highlights. light Bernstein has a lot of red in the coloring.

I"m a first time wig person, do I need to wear a cap or one of those bands under the wig?
If you don't have a lot of hair, you won't need a cap. I would highly recommend a wig grip. It will keep your wig on your head.😊
