Tried reading the VN in Japanese, but it was incredibly hard, practically took a work out of every sentence. Eventually I gave up, but now I am more motivated than ever to try and come back to this VN one day once I am better prepared. I hope to come back to this comment and write it in full Japanese with the VN 100% complete (pretty sure its 100+ hours in English, guessing 300-400 hours in Japanese, and that's the minimum...) wish me luck :)

I honestly thought Clannad was going to be a big load of cliched crap but figured I'd give it a shot since it's so critically acclaimed and I probably cried more times than I have in my entire life and my emotions are pretty much dead. lol.

Like some Japanese melodrama makes me roll my eyes and be like "ohhh my god stop saying that stupid shit", but then some of it gives me big feels. I hate it when the guy with glasses in anime has to have that glare on his glasses as he pushes them further on his nose as he says something cool or interesting, but with well-done characters I don't mind it so much.
