- The Puliyodharai served in the temples have a unique taste and flavor. This recipe is also commonly being referred as Iyengar Puliyodharai. It tastes divine, may be we are tasting in small quantity that too in the temple. The method of making Temple style puliyodharai is slightly different from our normal Puliyodharai.

Just made it exactly how you have shown. Letting it cool down. I made one little change instead of 1.5 tsp salt added only 1/2 tsp salt due to low sodium diet. Thank you so much for the easy turn by turn instructions. Came out so good.

I did this once and it came out well. I did it again but felt the puli was less. What is the equivalent puli paste for this consistency?
I very rarely use tamarind paste but usually 1 lemon size tamarind would be 2 tbsp tamarind paste

How long we can keep the tamarind gravy?
We can store the mix in air-tight container and refrigerate for a 10 days.
Fine preparation ...super..but i think jaggery is not necessary..starting music is so fine...

Hi mam, how many days we can keep this mix? Do we need to store in fridge ? TIA
We can keep the pulikachal(gravy) in air-tight container and refrigerate. It will be very good for a week. We can heat up 3-4 tbsp sesame oil and add it as top layer to the gravy and it will increase the shelf life to even 1 month. 🙏🙏🙏

I have added salt to tamarind. You can see exactly at 3:00 mins in the video I have added turmeric, salt and asafoetida.

The gravy can be stored for a month. Heat some more sesame oil and add it as a top layer to the gravy. It will help preserving. Refrigerate and use dry spoon to serve
