Is it possible to have water flow to a barrel while having water flow down the spout?.

Not really, no. Although the diverter will just divert enough to fill the barrel - if there is excess water, that will go down the downspout

@@rainbrothers yes, that's what i want because the barrel will be placed about 5 feet or more away from the downspout so I'll have to go on a ladder to make any adjustments if need be,more like a set it and forget it setup.I just enough water going to a drain while just enough water will fill the barrel.not sure if you understand me but you did answer my question so at least you were helpful to me and I thank you for that......thank you.
