when it comes to breaking down walls it can be a very sensitive topic for ppl but in a relationship, if its something small and can easily be broken down then i think its okay to break them down in order to try and assist your partner but like with what griffons therapist, walls arent so easy to always break down, as a partner you do need to give them some space but also be reassuring and comforting in order to be there and support them in order for them to understand and realise they dont need to go through something alone, they will tell you in their own time when theyre ready unless it goes far deeper in which the partner might need to see a therapist if they struggle (but are also still loosening up)
The person who submitted the sexpertise question - that's not uncommon among people with social anxiety or who are on The Spectrum® (like me). Some people just don't like socializing in general, but are perfectly capable of being just as deeply in romantic, emotional, actual love as anybody else. They just... have unconventional ways of acting like they do.
I always find it funny when a girl online says they need stimulating conversation or they're gone and then they turn out to be more boring than a box of rocks.

Regards to that last topic of discussion I was in a relationship like that where I was calling a girl the one...yet due to my depression I'd have days where I couldn't face anyone even her. Today's "sexpertise" question... really hit home. Communication in a long distance relationship is really hard, and it can be a huge hurdle. I'm VERY open about my feelings and the person I'm "involved with", really isn't, but has times where she'll get mad at me for something I had NO idea was an issue, cause she doesn't talk about everything. We confide in each other about most everything, but there are times where she'll shut down and not talk to me for days. It really hurts, and when I bring it up, she just doesn't want to talk about it. I think it's a case of, she doesn't want to open up, for fear of getting hurt (she's been hurt in the past too many times), cause it is a long distance thing, it's hard to "sit down" and talk. Skype is a good thing for this, but even then, it's easy to hide things... it's hard, but if it's "the real thing", it will work out and if it's not, it wasn't meant to be. I'm going through a tough patch right now (she lost internet for 2 weeks), but I know we'll come out on the other end of this, probably closer. Like they say, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder."... and I've experienced this first hand, and it's usually always worked out. I'd say for this person, just tell them, 100% how you feel, and express it. It's hard to do (trust me, my girl is like that), but it MUST be done... just do it. Don't use anger or pressure, just know that if they really, truly care about you, they'll understand.
