I am looking into getting this unit. It says you can charge from an external lead acid battery I guess through the dc1 and dc2 solar port. Can I use a 48v 200ah lifepo4 battery to charge the ep500pro at night time to keep the battery topped off? Thank you for this review!!
Hi, yes I use two LiFePo4 48V 200Ah connected to the EP500Pro. It keeps the battery charged 100% so I have enough electricity. I also have a 2400 Watt total of solar panels connected to the BLUETTI. When the sun is shining and the battery is full I use the EP500Pro to charge the LiFePO4. I use home automation for this.
@@Werner-fo4zd What sorcery did you use to connect 2 extra 100Ah batteries to the EP500 Pro? You must have gone through the MC4 DC1 or DC2 to do such? In which case you could only utilise 1200w of solar on the other DC channel as its 1200W each channel. Not a real good way of connecting as the manual does not recommend such but if it works it works I suppose.
@@Ramjet7777 yes you are right. I loose 1200W solar but in winter time I use the 2400w on one string and the battery on the other string. It works for me it is not the perfect solution.
@Werner-fo4zd OK, yep, fair enough. I'm going to consult a solar electrician this week, I'm going to see about splicing into the battery side of the breaker at the back and wiring in an aux hi amp Anderson connection. If this works I will plug 2 by 48v lifepo batteries in parallel to the one housed inside. This way they will charge from the unit as well. This will be a much better solution and will give me 15kw of battery storage. In summer with my 6 ecoflow 400w panels putting in 2000w for 9 hours plus the lower rate when the sun is down either side is 18 - 20kw of power I can store minus what im using.... shame to waste it I say.
That's a 30amp RV output buddy. You can run several fridges/freezers off just one of the 10-amp sockets. And you called it an input when it's clearly an output. Switched the vid off after I heard that as you don't know what you're talking about. Stick to what you know fella!
Awesome review. I love Bluetti products. I own a few of their batteries.
No one has made a video testing how clean the ac output is,
