Today is day 8 and we’ve arrived in Istanbul. We booked a tour with NCL called ‘Let’s Take a Selfie’ The tour cost $99 per person and was a 5 hours walking tour. First we had some free time to explore the Grand Bazaar. Then we walked to Hagia Sofia Mosque (Istanbul | Part 2 vlog).

Welcome to one of my Grandest travels to date! I had the greatest pleasure of traveling on a 9 days Cruise to Valletta in Malta, the Greek Isles of Santorini, Mykonos and Rhodes. $99 bus tour per person and you said $50 credit, what is that mean? Thanks
Thank you, I’m glad you found it interesting. NCL sometimes have promotions where they give cruisers a $25 or $50 shore excursion credit per stateroom.
What time of year was this taken. Everyone is wearing jackets.
April of this year (2022). The mornings were chilly but it does warm up considerably.
Is it difficult to tour around without joining the cruise ship excursion?
I’m not sure how easy it is, to be honest. There was a taxi stand a short walk from the port. But from what I saw from the bus. There was lots of shops within walking distance from the port. There’s also pigeon island close by. In my opinion, it is walkable without booking a tour.
