I did a rough translation of the more important parts for a friend, maybe it will help out some more people. Its not perfect and sometimes may be weird since I translated directly without adjusting the way he says things in japanese and don't want to double check it but it should do the job! 1:05 What this character is about. Its hard to get the first hit but once you do he does a lot of damage, gets easy kills, is good at edge guarding. I would say he is a character more suited for offensive play, but his oos options are also varied and excellent. All his aerials are great. Even though I say his defensive options are great, you won’t win by turtling in shield and pressing nair. Its slow. Its very important to be the one who engages with this character. What I hear often is “how do you get to hit so many nairs”. I don’t know myself. What I look at though is 1. You can always change momentum aka move with nair. When you hit nair, its very important to get the decision making right. This character functions on nair so you should learn its insides out. If they mash oos, you don’t delay, you mash the second hit. So timings and movement with the move are very important. If you really think how to use it its also pretty safe. What I do a lot is dash in and nair and then change up decision making on hit. 6:21 2. Pressure the defense of the opponent. Make the opponent move with backair. Backair is such a good move, a lot of sora mains don’t use it enough. It even hits some opponents rising and you can still press nair afterwards. 8:40 Some characters, like fast ones can run away from nair and create mixups. Use Dashattack against those when they approach. Bait them in with nair (even if it whiffs, since you can stop at nair 2) and then use dash attack against their dash in. Its important to know which characters you can nair oos, against roy it probably won’t work but for example jokers nair. 11:50 hit nair 1 2 on shield, delay timing and then hit nair 1 2 again. Then, if they change up and try to challenge in between sway away and see what they want to do. That’s all about nair prolly 12:40 next is neutral. Since he’s a swordie he has reach. Pressing bair to stuff approaches or approach with nair. What’s important in neutral is dash attack, its also a good move for catching landings. If sora wouldn’t have this dash attack I probably wouldn’t play him (lol). Its important to make your opponent respect dash attack and hit dash attacks. In sets that sora wins, I always think its because he hit a lot of dash attacks and was able to convert out of that since his damage output is so high. So, a lot of dash attack in neutral. Probably not so much at low percent, but since he does lots of damage out of one touch, after that dash attacks become important. 15:10 back to neutral. First of dash attack, but of course his spells are also important. Its uses are similar to dash attack. Comboing firaga into dash attack to get a offstage situation. I often use it without thinking much, some situations I look for something specific but usually you can just throw it out in the midrange. In a previous video I talked about firaga confirms, so if I want to hit those I think about it more. But spells in general have almost no risk so I think its ok to just throw them out. That’s neutral. I wouldn’t use thundaga too much in neutral. But blizzaga is really strong in neutral since it intercepts move that opponents just throw out. 16:26 lets say that was a forward air (of the roy). Blizzaga straight out beats stuff like that. The angle it sends is also really good, it sets up another landing situation, that’s why its so strong. Also has no risk (aside from super close range), if you hit the tip its risk free. So use it in midrange Thundaga has no much use in neutral. I use it often for edgeguarding, covering ledge with it. Get the opponent to pick a ledge option with this move. Sometimes I also use it for landing coverage but not that much. 18:20 I use side b pretty often in neutral. What’s strong about it: opponents think about dealing with nair and dash attack, then this move comes out and its almost unreactable. It also works against dash-ins (like dash attack, but it does more percent and is a bit safer. Dash attack leads to better landing situations). I also use it after firaga and to whiff punish. I think its a good move try to find opportunities to hit in neutral, but of course be careful since there’s counterplay. 20:15 that’s neutral, think about how to setup nair or grabs, so you use those other moves as well. Hit dash attack aswell. One more thing. I’ve talked a lot about nair, but fair is also great. Its a bit slower, but since it hits from above its good against full hops, just throwing it out there is really strong. Use the timing mixups like with nair. Also against sh attacks, its better to use fair since the hitboxes are all in front of sora (in comparison to nair). So also just throw it out. And then when the opponent trys to come in to whiff punish it, revert back to nair. 21:55 for example full hop fair, and then cover it with jump nair. This is a bit difficult. You can also use nair after sh fair, that’s what makes it really good. Since it has good range, against characters who approach with fair like Wario and sheik its a good move to just throw out. That’s it about neutral. When you hit nairs, you probably won’t have to worry about getting kills, so I won’t talk about that. Also I will maybe do a full combo guide.
