We lived in High Bridge back in the early 60s. The train went behind our house, and my brother and I used to walk across the bridge (I was 7) (no adults). I distinctly remember trains.
I graduated from Asbury College in 1996. Wilmore was my home for many years before and after that. I’ve been to high bridge, and canoeing under it, many times. Thanks for the memories!!
...uhm, you can see me walking across in the video. Anyway, I came from the south side and back since there's no obvious entry on that end and thus no one to bother or stop you. Waited quite a while, and eventually a train did come, but I'd already stopped recording live. You can see it if you poke around on my Instagram. I've already explored the area thoroughly a few times on foot and with my kayak, so it will probably be some time before I come back.

The whistle is to warn people that maybe on the bridge.
When you walk on the beam, was the handrail still at comfort-level? From the vid it looked like it would be pretty low.
It's not too bad. I'm 182cm and the rail hits me just above waist level.
Is it legal to walk across🤔 the bridge?
No

I walked on it about 35 years ago and a train came by, scared the pants off us.
