"tears and memories", "this world and its people are all we have", a beautiful song and melody, rhythm and chords from a beautiful person. thank you eTown and Madison for performing and posting.
It always makes me cry.
Loren, see my comment above. I talk about they key of D (used here) as the key of sorrow. // So, how did Madison know this, is my question.
that version is insane. whoa nellie
I was at this taping. What a magical evening. I think this was my favorite moment. Had me in tears.
Thanks for being there, Dave!!
Give some love to an audience that actually listens to beautiful music.

Hard to imagine a more perfect gem of an artist, song, and performance. Stunning and inspired!
I was (and am) shooting a documentary on why we choose different keys to sing or compose in. I was on the D note, and talking about how it is a sorrowful key. In the clip, off the top of my head I mentioned "Life According to Rachel." My non-believer musician friend (we are both schooled musicians) texted me after seeing the clip i was shooting, and he pointed out that her song was recorded in D-flat, not D. Of course, he was suggesting that my theory of D as sorrow, didn't old up since I was off by one note.
A few days later I ran into this live performance and immediately sent my friend the link. In this performance she has shifted down to D major. And yes, this song makes my friend tear up.
That being said, my documentary is almost complete.

Oh Madison. All THAT and then some. Keep crafting brilliant songs no matter what you decide to do with your career.
Wow, too bad the song had to end
