I know his history and stuff... so him and rakim kinda pushed the culture forward with a new flow and lyrics wise? Like, they switched the flow up and gave niggas a new style to run with?!

He fits perfectly with the two legends he stands next to on this track, because he's an old soul who learns from experience in real-time. Real recognizes Real. This is an excellent track. For those that don't know, this beat is from Big Daddy Kane's 1988 debut record - a track called "Just Rhymin' With Biz" featuring (you guessed it) Biz Markie. One of my favorite hip hop songs of all time. Do yourself a favor and check it out if you haven't heard it before. R.I.P. Biz!!..pure hip hop history right there...and pure hip hop history right here in 2022 with this track - it's dope they brought the beat back from '88 and did it justice. It slapped then, and it still slaps now 🔥
    REAL HIP HOP RIGHT HERE!!! Just listen to that hi-hat 😂

    This is what I call rap
    I was born in 73 back when we had block parties without worrying about the block being shot up.
    Back when you had to actually perfect your lyrical skills by rapping with perfect precision and timing.
    Back when you wasn’t just a rapper but a lyrical poet, back when rap had depth and soul.
    Nowadays the bare minimum is praised as 🔥 drunken drugged up lyrics is portrayed as the best of the best.
    Nowadays ad libs and mumbling is seen as skills but back in the day if you came with that mess you wouldn’t be allowed in any studio, on nobody’s stage and laughed off the block.
    I grew up listening to LL Cool J ( I loved I’m Bad) I grew up listening to big daddy Kane ( ain’t no half steppin)
    I grew up listening to Kool Moe Dee ( wild wild west)
    I grew up listening to Slick Rick ( Children’s story)
    I grew up listening to Beastie Boys ( Paul Revere) that beat is hard.
    I grew up listening to Queen Latifah, Roxanne Shante, Melly Mel, JJ Fad etc
    I miss real rap and I was excited to see this collab with Big Daddy Kane.

    Say what you want about this era of Rap, but we are in a Golden Age where theres something for every generation . This era fights against Ageism that plague HipHop for about 2 + decades

    • @halidapoudjak
      @halidapoudjak ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you can spit, you can spit. What’s age have to do with it? If anything, your raps should become more clever and intellectual if not technically proficient as you age and gain experience. This is one of the many things plaguing the Culture. We need to come together and STAY together as Black Americans AND Africans. It’s time y’all discovered your origins, and also for Africa to welcome you back as Kings, warriors,victims and heroes. United no one can stand against us. That’s why they ACTIVELY DIVIDE US. This isn’t purely a Race issue either. Any ally that accepts and loves you for who you are and what you stand for is worthy.
