Sat in economy area for 11 hrs from SF to Nadi and was miserable. I’m only 5’10” and next to the window. The biggest issue was the seats were made of stone. I tell you is was like cement. My poor back side just could not get comfortable. I tried multiple pillows and alcohol while watching the 1st Star Wars movie hoping to fall asleep. No luck, twisting and turning all night. When we arrived in Fiji, I was surprised to hear my name over the loud speaker intercom in the airport. I was instructed to report to baggage area. “We’re sorry sir but your wife’s 2 bags of luggage are still in Sf do to a broken belt”. That’s just great, no sleep and now and upset wife. I need a drink fast. The luggage showed up 2 days latter.
I havent flown Fiji airways before but I noticed on the Qantas website that its the same amount of frequent flyer points to fly premium economy from syd-lax direct with qantas as it is the fly business with fiji airways from syd-lax via nadi. I wonder which would be better?
Good to know! That's what I get for batch editing months in advance. I edited this back in May (and wrote the script in April), when I think it was still just the two. For reference, I just finished editing Widerøe last night, which won't air till March 2024. I'll try and fix/correct if I'm aware of a major change (i.e. Finnair adopting Avios), but more out-of-date items may slip through.
Are there any plans for Fuji Airways to refit the A330's to be closer to the lie flat seats on the A350's? Also do Fuji airlines serve Fuji water on board? It would off been a nice touch.
I’m not aware of any plans to refit the A330s with the new seats sadly. They do have 2 more a350s on order, and with them I hope that most of the true long haul destinations can get the better seats. For shorter flights the a330 seats are more than fine. And yes, they do indeed serve Fiji water on board! I drank about 5 bottles of it in my a350 review!
@fjphoto23 but Fiji is expanding. Vancouver is getting the A330. Tokyo. I think it’s great they got more A350s. Great they are flying to the US. But consistency would also be nice!
@@fjphoto23this is not strictly true, they do run the odd a330 on the North American leg. I’m looking at the San Francisco flight and once a week they run the a330
Depends on the price of course, but this looks like a pretty sweet ride for a short hop! Long haul, maybe I stay in the back.

They now have three A350s, and the fourth comes in a couple of weeks.

Is it ladies only?
For me personally, yes.
2 more A350-900 joined the fleet this year (2023)
Yep and that’s great progress…but those A330s are still flying big routes.
@@Travelog The A350s are doing the North America routes. A330s are on the Singapore, Hong Kong, Narita and occassionally Auckland, Sydney etc.
