I do love this inspiring show, but it would be so much easier to watch if the specific year would be listed in the YT title, otherwise previous years get mixed up in the sequences adding confusion and difficulty to follow the current years competition with the competitors progress. Adding the year in the title as well as in opening scene of the show is an easy fix.
The winner was my favorite from the start. I am completely in love with her work. Her chalks on brown paper is so beautiful and evocative. I loved all three artists works so much that I would have been happy no matter who won but I was ecstatic when she did.
I liked the work of the young man that made the old masters work with a twist. Like putting little toys or chess pieces in a masterpiece. I want to see more of that.
Love this show. I've learned a lot about my own art, almost as if I were taking a class. My only complaint is about how hard it is to follow a season's sequence. I'd appreciate seeing season and episode numbers. Thank you
I used to think people were moaning, and it didn't really matter, but having watched several now, I get it. I have been watching the Portrait ones and that is the same. You have No idea until they mention who the Prize sitter is which year you are in or at what stage in the competition. They always put the year in the titles, but we don't always see that. I ended up watching the winner painting Graham Norton without seeing why he was picked. I still haven't found him in any of the heats. It doesn't matter That much, but a bit of continuity would be nice. One night I am watching Frank Skinner, the next I am watching this bloke, or another even worse. Does my head in.
How wonderful that we get to see incredibly talented, inventive and creative artists at work! I had not previously appreciated the range of judgments that landscape artists make in creating their works, and I am so thankful that those judging were willing to entertain such an array of approaches to this genre. It is unfortunate that all of those featured today can't be winners, but I hope that this program will be seen by many and inspire future artists to bring into the world what they are uniquely positioned to create. 🙏 May this program help to bring more prominence to the importance of art in all of our lives!!
It's just not the nature of american TV, it would have corny challenges, instigation and forced drama and lots and lots of repetition between commercial breaks
They could have 50 episodes, showcasing the natural beauty of the countryside of each State. Can you imagine the beautiful art that would be produced? I would totally watch that.
I have no idea which order these all go in or if I a:even on the same season, so hopefully I am following the right order. Would be easier if you put the season and ep number in the title. Thanks
I'm very surprised as to the final winner. This just goes to show how art is interpreted by various people and how judges have preferences with throwing in a last minute twist as to jolt the future competitions.
I wasn't too fond of the winner's entry. It seemed a bit too unfinished for my taste. I much prefer the other two finalists, plus the fabric/collage artist.
Love the brown bag lady but buy the hairdresser's work while you can still afford it. However I would like to see his work done on a larger grander scale.
Paintings that express sheer beauty should not be ignored and put aside the way the three judges seem to do. It is a valid expression as well. Really, it’s the one critique I have of the show. Everything that goes forward is an example of abstract art. It’s just not balanced. Allow some realism and beauty as well please.
I wish they'd swap out the judges. They get on my nerves sometimes. 🙄 I wish they'd let other past winners and other artists/curators critique and choose the winners. Even a guest or any fresh blood would be nice for a change.
@@brittanyzambrano7780 I think that is a brilliant idea! Who do we contact? By the way, are these competitions still going on because it seems like they are several years old already.
@@sungoddiss They are still ongoing. I live in the US so we get everything late. I just googled the show. The last season aired this past December. I don't know if we could start a petition on any social media platform and tag the network in it. I'm not trying to jeopardize the judges' jobs but they reject so many phenomenal artists in favor of the 'mediocre' ones. (No disrespect to anyone). I just think more diversity in thought, opinion, and perspective would make it even better.
@@brittanyzambrano7780 indeed, I agree with more diversity. I am in Colorado. So what I see on TH-cam that are a few years old could be the reason why we see them at all, because they’re older episodes. What do you think?

Brown paper bags are NOT archival. Surely Rebecca knows that! Why make art on a substrate that isn't going to last? It's ripping off the buyer. They can be improved with acrylic gesso or glaze but still...

I’ve watched every episode, every year, because I love the show. But I think this will be my last time watching on this channel. It’s due to the commercials! I have no problem with commercials on TH-cam, I understand that is how your money is made. However, the amount of commercials today was ridiculous. I’ll miss watching the contestants but there should be a limit on how many can be aired during one video.
It's REALLY AGGRAVATING that these episodes are not numbered! Bad managing/editing whatever you guys!!! Fix it! I'm going to stop watching if not because I want to see them in order. Don't tell me in the comments because then I have to keep going back and finding in which video you put the numbered episodes and THAT IS AGGRAVATING!!! Get with it All Homes!!!
I liked the young boys' wild expression. I would NOT choose the brawn bagger the tree they like notwithstanding. The other 2 are lovely works. What? How depressing. It's all looking like prepatory drawings, NOT A PAINTING AT ALL.

I agree I loved his submission. Perhaps his second piece let him down a bit.
Thank you for posting. Landscape and portrait artists of the year have opened up a whole new window in my life.
me too 😊
I can’t get enough of it. I just wish they’d note what year they are.
Her work is stunning I was so happy they chose her, I love this show!
Thank you so much for these programs. Love the shows!

All the hosts and their various personalities make watching the artists work extra enjoyable. tfs!
I love Landscape Artista of the Year! And try to see every episode and love to find I coincide with the judges' choice almost always. Thanks you
So strange, that so many talented people have to go home.
Love the winners, fabulous.
I’d like to see America do something like this.

Very nice Landscape and portrait Artist of the years.
Best work is always someones from the crowd!
I love all three of these!

I wish this show was made in America
Or, that someone would do a US version of both Landscape and Portrait Artist of the year.
The paper bag art was so unique!
As always, do dot agree with judges, except great wildcard choice.
Julia was the clear winner. We know who always makes the final decision. What a pity.
Thanks for sharing
The difficulty for the painters is that the landscapes of GB is too perfect!😂 If you paint this perfection, the risc is to be kitschy!

Ty 😊
Beautiful
Have you considered a stilllife artist of the year? I love both LAOTY and PAOTY,
For just about the one and only time, I agree with their choice!
She bagged a winner there.

year or season, episode in title please. I believe this comment has been made many times by many people. Is someone out there listening? 😊
Julia got robbed. By far and away a better painter.
£10,000 prize is a pittance compared to what is raked in on these shows, I'll bet. Artists getting short-shifted, as usual?
I prefer this kind of art over all that AI rage happening right now..
What year?
what means exactly "energy"?
I love Julia’s art… the other guy’s art needs more time to build up it seems… the fabric artist was extraordinary and the wildcard who painted chairs was also great…
Season 7-Episode 5
The color correction is off.
Yes, what year? The staff look older: therefore newish shows. Also no masks.
I think the wildcard artist was better than any of the 8 competitors. The green haired guy- his was a mess in my opinion.
pretty sad that art is judged

I amazed someone would get involved in such a race and then show up with a old piece of a grocery bag. Brown paper? Magic or not.
