This is an Epic OSU v OU Battle. The late Rusty Hilger has stated that he had little recognition of what went on in this game after taking the Sandwich-hit on the 77 yard TD Pass. And it is interesting to note that both Frank Broyles and Keith Jackson felt that way during the broadcast. "Those were the Days my Friend."
Oh thank you so, so much! I've been looking forward to re-watching this game for so long, and I am a Nebraska fan that was still reeling the week prior.
OSU had -4, yes MINUS FOUR, yards net rushing offense for the game at that point. In other words, they'd line up against the great OU defense and they would LOSE more yards than they GAIN! INCREDIBLE defense by OU.
@@nathaniellathy6559 The TIGHT END. As an EAGLES fan, I was lucky to have watched him play back in the day. JACKSON and BYARS are underrated to this day. HOF players both of them almost in my books. I never had access to the NFL until 1988 or so. All CFL for me.
@@nathaniellathy6559 I first knew of KEITH JACKSON and RANDALL CUNNINGHAM cause of NINTENDO game called TECMO SUPER BOWL. That was back in 1990 or 1991. I became an EAGLES FAN through that old video game. I live up in CANADA and never got to see NFL until I was about 12 years old, the games weren't really on TV up here unless you lived in a big city and had cable TV, or if you were rich enough to have a pirate SATELLITE DISH back in the 80's. I grew up on CFL mainly, but also NFL. Now the CFL has lost so much QB talent that the league appears to be dying. I have always hoped the CFL would become as big as the NFL cause 3 DOWN FOOTBALL is so exciting cause their are more punts and more kickoffs and it's PASSING PLAYS 80% of the time. CFL also needs a 3 DOWN FOOTBALL BRAND of VIDEO GAME to be established, even it it isn't CFL BRAND. Anyhow, yeah, without that video game in the early 90's I'd never even know KEITH JACKSON or RANDALL CUNNINGHAM, i'd never have become an EAGLES FAN without that video game introducing me to the EAGLES dynamic players.
notable personnel: ou -- troy aikman, keith jackson, steve sewell, spencer tillman, brian boswell, tony casillas, mack brown and gary gibbs. osu -- rusty hilger.
I was there throwing oranges like a boss in the south end zone with my dad. Both field goals were torn down. A bunch of cops took an ass whipping trying to protect them. 🤣🤣🤣
Is that the End Zone where Keith Jackson caught that TD pass on the First play of the 2nd Quarter? Lucky you if it was. Must of been Electric to See Live! I love to rewind the way he puts the ball around his back. Does the Shimmy Shimmy Shake. Gently lays down the ball. And then Gives Thanks on a knee. Awesome OU Moment!!
@@DocSportello1970 No! Jackson caught it in north end zone. You can tell by the way the camera is aimed at the field. The TV box is on the west side so the left is north and right is south. Switzer had the team on the east side facing the camera. But was changed later to the west side out of the sun. That is the reason the teams cross each other when leaving the field.
The very very best wishbone play is when the quarterback makes it into the secondary and THEN pitches to the trailing halfback as the quarterback is brought down, at the last moment. JC Watts did this to Billy Sims in one spectacular play.
Poor Chokie State they hope and pray every year that they’ll beat Oklahoma and we always owned them. Now I was a student at OU from 95-98 and in 95 OSU beat us 12-0. That was the first time in my life they beat us but it was the first time since WWII that they shut us out.
The fact there’s a storm warning plastered over the broadcast is the most Oklahoma thing ever.
Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles were the best.
Music selection by Oklahoma band is excellent 👌 👏 🙌 👍 💯

I remember watrching this game from a hotel in North Conway, New Hampshire.
Troy Aikman is on the side line. Troy was the first QB to start as a true freshman for OU since WWII against Kansas a game they lost in 1984. 🏈
I believe he threw quite a few interceptions in that game.
Pretty cool seeing Thurman doing what he did best as a freshman on his way to Canton...Go Bills!
This was November 24, 1984 Sooners was down 14-7 and came back to win 24-14
State the obvious, why don't you?

That's Brian Bosworth, not Boswell.
84 Oklahoma State. A heartbreak team. They were bad by 89
Would have liked to have seen BYU vs Oklahoma or Washington
255lb O-linemen is hillarious. That's when Guards would pull with greater athleticism I would say.

BUSTA RHYMES is a rapper?
Different Busta Rhymes
LT for OU 69 is the worst lineman in Sooner history. Thought it then and still to this day.
