"nakadashi" literally means "release inside" (I'm sure you know what the English equivalent would be)
Artists nowadays moreso use tankoubons as a way to re-release all the oneshot stories they do in online fanzines as an all-in-one release with some extras.

Anime reaction channels used to get clapped by copyright a fair bit, but it seems like people have generally figured out the meta for how much to obscure, how much to show, how much to edit down, the sound edits, all that.
A lot of them only really show enough that you can follow if you've already seen the episode, but still show enough that you don't need to have the episode playing in another window if its been a while.
Ngl Koe. I found Hololive near the end of 2019 and it reached a point where I said “There has to be someone on TH-cam talking about this” and that SAME WEEK, you uploaded your first simpefficient video. You and 2 other people were the only western TH-camrs I saw with reaction videos to hololive.
It was really weird to be on the cutting edge of something. But it was also really cool to watch you grow. Keep up the good work.

I had to chuckle at the fact you started out watching Rushia and Coco and their example of you watching new vtubers was Nazuna and Kson.
Honestly Koe, the peeps that update their playlists i'm so thankful for, it makes my enjoyment escalate because of how easy it is to find things i especially wanna watch

I dabbled a bit starting in 2020 with Korone clips and then with HoloMyth coming out, but finding your videos helped give me quick content when I'm not able to watch full VODs. Met a lot of fellow weebs and artists online because of vtubers, and rode out the miselable lockdowns.
I still remember pre-pandemic when Koe was "the UNIST guy" to me and now his vtuber simping is what he's known for, it's wild.
Kaguya-sama is one of the animes that is suuuper strict on copyright stuff, even like 10 secs is enough to get you.
7:23 _tankobon_ means "standalone book", and is usually tagged to galleries that contain scans of complete books
_nakadashi_ ; _naka_ means "inside"; _dashi_ stems from _dasu_ (出す). _dasu_ has many meanings, but in this context it can mean "to send out", or "to release."

Yeah a Tankoubon is a standalone collected volume of works. Usually means it's a single author's work that isn't included in a weekly anthology. So you can get the entire volume of a manga in a taknoubon rather then picking up multiple versions of jump to get the whole story for example. Similar to in the US as a Trade Paperback comic.

I literally do that all of the time, sadly those situations never actually happen for me so it usually ends up just me talking to the air as if the other person is there and me thinking of what they would say back and never seeing it happen after. Sigh

Tankōbon is the Japanese term for a book that is not part of an anthology or corpus. It is also used in reference to individual volumes of a manga series. Like...say Vol 1 of a manga, that's a Tankōbon, when many manga start out they begin as single to two chapters in manga anthologies like Shonen Jump or others (there's different ones in Japan that we just don't get here), so when it gets big enough to get it's own stand alone volume, they collect all the chapters and put it in a Tankōbon, which the kanji for that translate to "Standalone/Individual book". It's why if you look up on some fan sites that list all the chapters for a series and the volumes those chapters are in, if a series is ongoing you'll likely see the heading "Chapters not yet in Tankōbon"
Yeah, anime reaction videos are very much present in TH-cam, usually in 2 ways, highlights of a reaction (heavily edited to avoid copyright) or full length timer, where you are supposed to have your own copy of the episode and time it with the reaction, though some reactors provide an unedited version hosted on other websites.
Tankoubon is just a manga chapters collected in a volume (as opposed to chapters in a magazine)

Actually, I should point out that there are Vtubers who do reactions to anime now!
One of my favorites is Aliciaxlife. She used to be an official commentator for Tekken tournaments back in the day. Even though she's really small right now, I think she'd be down to do an interview with you, Koe.
Some reaction channels do talk about how all of their videos on shows get flagged and they have to keep fighting and editing them
Some are just watching with slight edits, but others can be full comedy sketches and I love them!

In such a big population of hololive fans most of them aren't online streamers or content creators so the biggest simp is probably not known online
I think before, way way back, you can react to anime while showing the whole episodes. You can't do that now. Unless it's some obscure or very old ones though you still can't be sure.

anime reactions can be very weird in how it is done. some people can get away with just obscuring mirroring watermarking or all of the above. others cut their vids apart not showing entire episodes but most of it. you can basically never show op/eds as those are huge copyright flags. as for sounds issues there can vary. some have the sound muted by youtube, some mess with the sounds themselves by adding effects to it. watched along with a few reactors for favorite episodes of certain series just to see reactions to certain parts but yeah the quality of the actual stuff shown varies wildly. 90% of them though all recommend paying for their patreons for uncut stuff cause apparently patreon isnt strict in what you can upload to there surprisingly.
