It's possibly the best value purchase on the performance synthesizer market. I've had my original MODX7 for 3 years now and am always amazed at how it sounds for what I paid. The official bag comes nicely padded with backpack straps. At 16lbs I can quickly toss it in the car and take it anywhere! The fact you can buy the original MODX7 second-hand for $1100 and sometimes less is just crazy --- such professional sounds and flexible engine!
Couldn't agree more. What speakers did you hook it up to? I got the Kurzwell KS 40a monitor speakers to go with it, and after hooking it up, I realised the output was extremely low quality so now I need advice on which pair of speakers will bring out the best of this bad boy. Anyone's advice will be much appreciated.
I've had a MODX7 since 2019. I use it for home/band jams/live band gigs. Would I like a Montage? sure.. but I just couldn't justify the expense for my needs. I'm not professional level and find the MODX7 and a Nord Electro 6D a great combo for covering most cover band stuff. Sometimes I might use Sample Robot to sample a vst synth if I'm after a specific synth sound. The keybed on the MODX is a little tiring to play after a while compared to the Nord but for the money the Yamaha is a great choice. There is a steep learning curve if you've never used a Yamaha board as the programming is sometimes not intuitive. The Yamaha can do so much that it can overwhelm, but the effort to learn is well worth it.
Great keyboard. While it doesn't offer all of the abilities of the Montage M, it does offer....."most" of the same abilities. Montage M has the AN-X engine, about double the onboard wav rom, double the ram to load sound collections, a better DAC, better keybed/build quality and a few other things. But the MODX+ can cover most of what it does with many of the exact same sounds, for a tiny fraction of the price & tiny fraction of the weight. The MODX+ has pretty much all of the functionality of the regular Montage except the better keybed/built quality and a few extra controls on the Montage. I've had my MODX since it came out, and if the Montage had been the same price I'd still choose the MODX because weight does matter a lot for those of us that gigs and transport keyboards to band practices.
In my case i have to go with the Montage M over the MODX+ because of the keybed action. People say its the same but how i see it its not the same due to the fact that the better keybed on the Montage makes it sound better and yes they sound similar but everyone has their own opinion.
To each their own. Save your money. "If I could afford it" is all I hear people say. You can justify anything to anyone to make yourself feel better about the disparity in price. For those that know and can hear it. The differences are also quite apparent. Congrats.
The Modx 8+ has a wonderful feeling keybed…I love the weighted keys so that pretty much made the decision for me as I can’t justify the cost of the $5K MX88
Like #50. My MODX8 drives me nuts, and don't know if my music store downloaded the update versions correctly, with my going through....with all, and 😵💫.
Interesting video. As long as you're happy with it right? Myself, I'm thinking about selling my MODX6 to get an old second hand Montage 8. The old Montage sells for a lot less than since the Montage M came out. The MODX(+) sounds the same as the old Montage, but the Montage M has a some features the rest doesn't have, like that new virtual analogue engine and the VST that comes with it. The Montage M is very expensive at the moment, because it's new. It will probably drop in price 10-20% in the next 2 years. I think the old Montage looks better than the M. I'm not fond of the colours of the LEDs, the orange letters and such. Have fun with your MODX7+. Make some great music with it.

I'm using the krk gen 4's and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
@@sawssman965thanks, will have a look at it.
How did you load your presents in the MoDx7 because I know those are not The Piano sounds

The Montage M8X has been out of stock for over a year; you made a great choice. Enjoy your MODX7.
Thanks so much

Absolutely spot on! You've further impressed in me that I made the right decision purchasing it. Thanks so much for the comment and kindly subscribe.

Same reason I kept my old motif es7 😂😂😂😂
This looks and sounds great ! Congrats
It really does thanks.

Great Keyboard but not a great keybed action so I got a montage
