I have designed the same model by your method but my model cannot deformed, why?
Rajab Ali Someone approached me on LinkedIn with a similar issue. Even after applying the desired loads, fixing the restraints, their model was not deforming. This problem was solved only after they installed a different version of ETABS.

Hello sir, I just have a question, since in Algeria we don't use this kind of slabs. the minimum thickness here is 20cm and mostly it's a hollow slab so I'm a bit confused with your example. what's the point of using these 9x12 beams?

I've modeled 2 storey building.
When I check the value of torsion on a shorter beam, it has a higher value compare to other beam. So, when I design the RC beam it will warn with the O/S #45 fail due to combined shear and torsion.
I've seen in your model on 57:05 that the value of torsion on shorter beam also higher than others.
Can you explain me why this happen? Or how can I avoid this kind of behaviour?
Because, I've read on some other forum to solve this problem by using the value of Torsional Constant 0.001. I'm already try this approach but it make the beam loss of its torsional stiffness.

U r providing slab over plinth floor here in this video.. Is that correct? I think there is no slab in plinth level.
It depends. In most high rises we have to provide grade slab at plinth level so that the soil doesn't sink while parking etc.

How i can design foundation through etab all details analysis design
u need to design it manually in excel sheet using the value of Fz (base) obtained from Etabs. Consider the maximum Fz. Since it is factored, first divide the value by 1.5
Use STAAD FOUNDATION software bro.

Do you know why you have so much deformation and sagging for the slabs(54:09) because you used membrane(20:37) you should have used thin-shell as that's how a real slab acts.
Thanks for noticing, you are right but in laymen terms, when you use a slab as shell, it participates in load bearing,and you will end up getting less reinforcement in Beams. When you assign a slab as membrane it does not participate in load bearing and directly transfers loads to adjacent beams resulting in more reinforcement in beams.
Membrane and shell thin are 2 options provided by ETABS to model slabs.
It is up to the user to decide which option is to be used.
If you use membrane option, ETABS distributes the load by yield line theory i.e a triangular and trapezoidal load distribution of the pressure applied on slabs occurs to the beams. In other words,the stiffness of slab is not acounted in the analysis. Conventionally this method of load distribution has been used and this emperical rule has given good performance of buildings. (It is to be noted that yield line behavior has an assumption that all supporting beams stiffnesses are similar.This need not be the case always)
However if one wants more accurate results and if there are irregularities in the shape of slabs in plan or if the slabs needs to be modelled as sloped or folded or if the structural system is flatslab or if the beam stiffnesses varies considerably it is required to bring in the stiffness of slab in the analysis. Even if you want to release compatibility torsion in beams,modelling of slabs as shells is better to ensure effective redistribution of torsion.

Rizwan M.A Hai Thank you for the insightful reply, much appreciated . Yeah i also read that the membrane simulates yield line analysis, but regarding torsion compatibility ie setting stiffness to 0.001 for beams i believe setting the slab as a shell is more accurate.
But the designer can choose both methods and design according to the worst case.

As I had already assigned the loads on external beams, I was unselecting the external midlanding beams at 45:58 which got selected by mistake. Navigate to 45:39, pause the video and look closely, the midlanding beams are visible.
