LAST DAYS ON EARTH ist ein Film zum nahenden Abschied der ET420 von der S-Bahn Köln & Rhein-Ruhr aus Perspektive der Graffiti-Kultur. Das von der Szene liebevoll auf den Namen PLOCHI getaufte S-Bahn Modell, prägte seit den 70er-Jahren viele Nahverkehrssysteme deutscher Metropolen & gilt als eine der solidesten DB-Baureihen aller Zeiten.
Nachdem die 420er in Stuttgart & Frankfurt seit nunmehr einem Jahrzehnt komplett von der Bildfläche verschwunden sind, ist ihr Ende im Rhein-Ruhr Gebiet ebenfalls besiegelt. Damit verbringt die ET420 ihren Lebensabend bezeichnenderweise in dem S-Bahn Netz, wofür sie ursprünglich zum Anlass der Olympischen Sommerspiele 1972 konzipiert wurde: München!
Dieser Streifen ist nicht nur ein Abschied, sondern auch eine Liebeserklärung mit dem Anspruch, den einzigartigen Charakter dieses Zuges bis ins Detail für die Nachwelt festzuhalten.

LAST DAYS ON EARTH is a film about the upcoming farewell of the ET420 from the S-Bahn Cologne & Rhine-Ruhr through the perspective of graffiti culture. The S-Bahn model, nicknamed PLOCHI by the scene, has shaped many local transport systems in German capitals since the 1970s & is considered one of the most solid DB series of all time.
Now that the 420s in Stuttgart & Frankfurt have been completely disappeared from the map almost a decade ago, their end in the Rhine-Ruhr region is also sealed. Significantly, the ET420 is now
spending its twilight years on the S-Bahn network for which it was originally designed for the 1972 Summer Olympics: Munich!
This film is not only a farewell, but also a declaration of love with the aim of preserving the unique character of this train in every detail for posterity.
