I'm the exact same about music tastes changing. But I blame self consciousness for me at least. When I was little I listened to everything, and then by the time I was a teenager it was all metal, rock, grungy shit, and I'd be mortified to be caught listening to the music in the charts. Then in college my confidence skyrocketed, I stopped caring about what people thought of my taste, and the kpop journey began. Never looked back and I listen to almost exclusively kpop now, but it's still everything, because of how broad a term kpop is.😅👏

That’s just TWICE’s effect 😭, I’m such a fan of bands and a big Paramore fan before I became a ONCE and for me, TWICE is just really good with what they do because they pull you into their music and makes you really enjoy it! when they started to explore more into their discography, there’s still that TWICE effect and I just really love that from them 🥹💖
Of course there is a psychological aspect to your change. From other things you have seen already, you know that the ladies of Twice are NICE people with great big hearts, you know they care about each other, you know they care about their fans, you know they are HARD WORKERS so you know they deserve every bit of success they have now. You REALLY WANT them to succeed at everything they do, BECAUSE they are THOSE GIRLS. They are the bright spot of anybody's day. You could FULLY EXPECT any of them to come out with a total Candy-Pop vibe song, but it's because 'they are them' that you would at least give it a listen. AND THEN, they really are THAT GREAT at music! There could be other groups who do this song but if you know nothing about the members of the group or whatever, you won't be emotionally invested or interested in this. So if somebody had shown you this a few years ago, you might have been completely turned off from ever listening to Twice. I am SO HAPPY for you and the other fans that you had the opportunity to be broken in slowly (maybe even carefully) so that you would not snub these AMAZING ladies. :)

once you start liking bright songs there is no going back, my transition from dark hard hitting ones like ATEEZ and SKZ songs has now shifted to SVT and Kep1er and Twice songs and it happened so unexpectedly.
it truly is the Twice effect because I also wasn't one to like bright songs but now Twice is my ult group, they just make you feel happy and good and you need that in your life sometimes

I remember when the MV came out, Onces were all like "Damn JYPE really popped (pun intended) with the budget" With the amount of outfit changes it was like she got the same amount all 9 members would get in a Twice MV.
