Thank you for the info! I usually use bandage tape but now that I’m growing a beard it doesn’t work anymore. I’ll try the KT before I try the hostage, thanks!

I stopped using it and will now try the nasal strips you recommended. I laughed when I got the tape because it was exactly like you described - KT tape. I am looking forward to taking it on a plane with me to see the reactions from the TSA 😂. Thanks again, brother!
3M Nexcare for sensitive skin hypoallergenic tape works great, too. Good amount of stick, but not too much. No residue the next day. Way cheaper than any of the above. Only suggestion is if you moisturize or have a skincare regimen is to put that on at least an hour before bed so that it sticks better.
this is awesome!! thank you for confirming what i thought... just bought some kt tape which is not only much more cost effective, but also kind to the planet by moving away from the individually wrapped hostage tape pieces! well done.

I have a deviated septum and I use strips during workouts, sleeping, and sometimes just while I’m chillin at home, cuz it really helps me breathe way better.
I tape my mouth every night (just 3M Nexcare - $8 for several months) and I’ve definitely noticed my nose breathing getting better since I started a year ago. Based on this I think I’m gonna try the double whammy of tape + nasal strips and see what happens!
@@robertjackson8790 it does! I’ve been doing it for the last 4-5 days and I like the combo. Sometimes I used to get a little congested and the mouth tape would be a little much, but nose strips definitely help open up the pathways a bit more

I like hostage tape personally. I’ve slept way better. It doesn’t work if I haven’t shaved in a couple days even though they say it works with beards. I do think it chaps my lips at some point and I need to take a break and use blistex medicated or just use that during the day more. The chapstick or balm. Thoughts on nasal strips vs Intake? Have you used them while working out? I also have a deviated septum and I am trying to make it through my half marathon without surgery.
I used to use breathe right nasal strips but had to stop because it was leaving painful marks on my nose after waking up. And then the marks would remain on my nose and not go away until I stopping using them
I like it very much also Somnifix and bebetter mouth tape are excellent too for mouth breathers during sleep ,p[ersonally i use it for my CPAP therapy. So i dont have too put on a full face mask during sleep.
There is one good thing about hostage tape. It’s already cut to the perfect mouth size and it has tabs that enable you to put it over your mouth without touching the sticky part of the tape.
I bought hostage tape. But, I was already looking for a substitute such as surgical tape. I do not need to pay eight times the price to avoid using a pair of scissors and I am really wondering why you wouldn't feel the same way. Plus hostage tape is made in China while KT tape is made in South Korea.
I don't think I will putting KT tape on my face. This one time... at Boot Camp. I used KT Tape for my ulnar nerve. And upon removal it attached itself to 2 or 9 layers of skin. Was not a pleasant experience, for like a week...... In the shower.

Hey, thanks for video. I’ve been looking into getting this for my wife who has a deviated septum. But I’ve happy you said what you said and recommended nasal strips. Is there anything else you recommend asides from nasal strips to help with sleeping ?
Stoked you found it helpful! Yeah for sure but those suggestions are based around, weight, diet, timed eating, supplementation, nothing as quick fix as a nasal strip
Breathing through the nose on autopilot is far more effective to get the benefits. Putting tape over your mouth at night is not a good idea. When you learn to breathe naturally through the nose you will do it without thinking. This book gave me the insight and instruction to accomplish this. For a fraction of the cost of hostage tape. The Full Breath by James Francis. Try this.
How exactly does breathing through your nose get more oxygen to your brain? Just curious about that statement. Is it because the air goes directly into your brain? Bypassing your entire cardiovascular system?
I forget the exact science, but breathing in through the nose creates more nitrous oxide in the body I believe, which helps increase oxygen uptake, mean your blood absorbs more oxygen, so more is transported throughout the body, which can relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. The most also regulates the temperature of the oxygen before entering the body.

Yes Hostage tape is KT. And nasal strips help you breath trough your nose but breathing trough your nose dont send more oxygen to your brain. It’s just not how your body works.
“Nose breathing imposes approximately 50 percent more resistance to the air stream, as compared to mouth breathing. This results in 10 to 20 percent more oxygen uptake.”
