    3M Nexcare for sensitive skin hypoallergenic tape works great, too. Good amount of stick, but not too much. No residue the next day. Way cheaper than any of the above. Only suggestion is if you moisturize or have a skincare regimen is to put that on at least an hour before bed so that it sticks better.

    How exactly does breathing through your nose get more oxygen to your brain? Just curious about that statement. Is it because the air goes directly into your brain? Bypassing your entire cardiovascular system?

    • @JeremyBarbell
      @JeremyBarbell ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I forget the exact science, but breathing in through the nose creates more nitrous oxide in the body I believe, which helps increase oxygen uptake, mean your blood absorbs more oxygen, so more is transported throughout the body, which can relax blood vessels and lower blood pressure. The most also regulates the temperature of the oxygen before entering the body.

    Blue painters tape 1.41 wide, (cut out a notch for under nose), is what I use. Moisturizer (after drying), lip balm work well. The adhesive works well, then removes without damage (remove slowly). Love it! I use nose strips, too. So great not to wake up groggy. Open your nose and close your mouth to sleep. Hubby uses nose opener (sleep right or other) but they irritate me so I use nose strips, extra strength. Stay on better if you swipe area with alcohol before applying.

    I use hostage tape because im on nasal cpap sir and im a mouth breather ,and your mouth is for eating and talking not breathing only your nose ,so you don’t have sleep apena im assuming like i do . For me its works incredibly well for good deep sleep all nite . And its not that expensive i get 90 strips for 50.00 bucks that last 3 months thats less 60 cents per day .

    Yes it works. KT tape does not breath like hostage tape. I was skeptical but having the best sleeps in my life. Don't use medical tape, this is designed to still be able to breath through it.

    Looks like you are forced to buy one year supply at $200.00
    Unless Im wrong there is no way to make a small purchase to test out the tape before committing that amount. I can buy a pack from another company for $18.00 and If it works then why even consider paying $200
    00 when I can pay $60.00 for a year's supply

    I love my hostage tape. I’ll definitely try KT tape for sure. Thanks for the pointer.
    FYI: I cut my hostage tape in half in between the white paper. Then I put the tape cut side up on my top lip the rounded side on the bottom lip. I have my cost per tape down as cheap a .28¢ per use. 👍

    Thought hostage tape was duck tape?! Anyway…I’m going to get some for my wife and kids for sure.
    I can imagine having facial hair would limit the effectiveness of the seal?
    Thanks for the advice of the nasal strips! Will definitely try that for general use. I sleep like a log fortunately.

      I started to tape my mouth recently, I recognized the pattern of the glue side of hostage tape being exactly the same as Kinesiotape. So I use that, its like 8 cents per night.
      To your point regarding sealing with the tape:
      The tape itself isnt really sealing, you need to tension it a bit so it closes your mouth, so your lips are the sealing factor.
      I have a short 3-day beard and it works fine.
      Sorry for my grammar, I‘m not native :*

    Yes Hostage tape is KT. And nasal strips help you breath trough your nose but breathing trough your nose dont send more oxygen to your brain. It’s just not how your body works.

    • @BrandonTalbot
      @BrandonTalbot  ปีที่แล้ว

      “Nose breathing imposes approximately 50 percent more resistance to the air stream, as compared to mouth breathing. This results in 10 to 20 percent more oxygen uptake.”

    I just learned about this product through an ad, and I found their marketing approach extremely distasteful. Happy to learn about better ways to sleep. But just because of their creepy demeanor in their ads, like a kidnapper lying in wait to silence a victim with duct tape, I refuse to use their product.
