    Thanks for another very informative video. There are always some good tips to be gleaned. I am going to Darwin shortly, and I will be sure to check out some of these places. Kaya jam is a new one on me. I will have to try that egg, jam and toast combo. I tried Strawberry jam on toast with scrambled eggs in Hong Kong. I thought it would be putrid, but it was actually quite yummy!

      Yeah, sweet on savoury combo is something we scratch our head over.... But we do it all the time without realising it! Burger patty with onion chutney, chicken classic subway with sweet onion dressing.... Etc... 😏

    Been to a few of these restaurants, bringing back some good memories for me whilst watching in lockdown. Great video !!! Also, Hot Tamale Mexican on the waterfront is a must, if you enjoy Mexican cuisine!!!

    Best Thai: Hanuman’s or Nirvana’s. Best Seafood: Piwis Darwin. Best Indian: Inredible India on the Wharf or Palmerston. Best Japanese: Ichi’s in either Darwin City or Palmerston. You didn’t miss anything from missing Mindil Beach markets, which has become very touristy and cliche.

      Taking mental note! What's this I hear about Darwin being famous for their crab omelette? Is there any truth to that? Hehe...

    You and I should travel together because I only travel for food! Such a pity about the tom yum. So very angmoh! YOu are right, I don't see why we don't eat more hot, spicy coup based dishes when it's cold. Instead, we eat it when it's hot out. Many in my family believe that the spiciness makes you sweat to cool you down. shrug haha

    • @ryansofly
      @ryansofly  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Omg I never understood this hot/cold fit the body. Had its roots in Chinese medicine, I think. Its a balance of some yin yang shit of maintaining equilibrium of your body temperature. Too much watermelon is no good because its too cooling for the body, will cause arthritis,... 🤷

      @@ryansofly it’s about 30 mins south east of Darwin.
      I used to live with a dear neo mastiff here in Brisbane and hadn’t seen her for 6 years after she and her owners relocated to Darwin/ Berry Springs but she recently passed away there. 😔
      Berry Springs has hot springs you can swim in and nature walking tracks- it’s supposed to be quite lovely from what I’ve heard.
