It would have been great if they recreate the game (like Super Smash Bros does) and fix these problem, plus include new characters like Finn and Jake, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage, Juniper Lee, Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 3 .
P.S. But still this actually is my all time favorite game.
The fact that flapjack and chowder are in there but not courage the cowardly dog or ed edd or eddy is so stupid

I see Ed Edd n Eddy's fighting styles would be similar to Mac and Blue and Billy and Mandy, where you fight as two charcter, but this time, you fight as three characters

It's not that worth it even for that. Trust me, I played through the game and unlocked everything, it REALLY isn't worth it.

also the bumpers used back in the day for the type of game back ground would've been nice. a real game at that point.
Cartoon Network needs to redo this game with a better roster. make it FULLY comprehensive. Get a studio like Capcom or Koei-Tecmo, FOR GOD'S SAKE WARNER BROS. AND DC COMICS.

I realize I listed over 100 characters here, but it's 2014. If we could have 35 characters in Smash Bros Brawl, and if the current generation of gaming is 4x stronger than the last, then we could have over 100 characters in another Punch Time for the current gen.
The problem with getting the Toonami shows is the licensing. Ever wonder why Jump Super Stars was Japan only? Licensing.
Dale Greg. I know. I'm saying it would be nice to have Toonami shows, even though they're not technically owned by Cartoon Network.
If this game had those people, this would be perfect.

That game is a piece of joke because of the glitch. There's this glitch that after a pick a character like Chowder, he turns into Flapjack. There's the other glitch that when I tried to complete the level, it makes a horrible sound and breaks the whole GOD DAMN game. It doesn't really work for my Wii.
Where's Ed, Edd n Eddy,Courage The Cowardly Dog, and Camp Lazlo? Well Just Lazlo not the other two.

Nice review, I think I would like to get this game, Cartoon Network was my childhood and I still love the channel today, despite some flaws it had *cough* live action *cough* so playing as my favorite cartoon network characters will be really great for me

Well, she actually died a few years after the game was released. But wow, I had no idea she passed.
+TonyMishima92 r.i.p old Dexters lab voice actor😲😩👰🏻. I have this game an there is cheat codes like unlock 8 characters an all costumes an search up the codes after you have them play the game but here's a tip. Enter the cheat codes before you start playing story mode.
I would still love this for the 3DS to play on my own

Aku, Him, Hoss Delgado, Kevin, & Toiletnator are only playable in the console XL versions of the game. Vilgax is the only villain playable in both XL and 3DS version. Kevin's special is that he turns into Ultimate Kevin for a short period of time, he's pretty strong. ~Steven

Don't get me wrong, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is a very fun game; A game I used to play a lot with friends. But I don't think its a well made game, it has a lot of issues in my humble opinion. I think its a great game to play if you have 3 other friends who love Digimon.

I for one would love to see Cartoon Network go back to this game and really give it the time, budget, and love it deserves. Throw in some more fan-favorite characters while hopefully only removing a few from this game's roster (I'd love for them to keep Chowder but realistically...), play more with stages, items, yadda yadda yadda...

I did enjoy the game the first play though, and I had pretty a good opinion of the game. But when I played through while recording the problems became more apparent, and my review got a little more negative.

well technically Captain Planet is a Cartoon Network character. at least legally. Captain Planet is owned by Hannah Barbera Productions. Cartoon Network owns Hanna Barbera now. and Captain Planet showed on Cartoon Network regularly till around 2005. i feel like they left not only the Eds but other characters like Courage and what not, in hopes for a sequel.

I've heard about the game before, but I didn't knew it stopped being a 3DS exclusive. Maybe I'll check out the Wii version sometime XD.
It's a shame to hear about the voice actors, that's always something that bugs me, though I personally I wouldn't have known the difference since I never heard any of the original cast :P

There's more than the examples I showed in the video, I cut them for time. Other examples are Digimon Battle Spirit (1 and 2), Jump Super Stars (obviously haha), Digimon Rumble Arena 1, and Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble to name a few more.

You could argue that Adventure Time and Regular Show would have been in development/production at the same time too, but then again Cartoon Network didn't know it was going to be a hit. Too bad, they didn't include them it could have sold more more copies.

I think this game looks good. Yeah you are right about some of those facts like voices or returning to the main screen and all that, but hey there just ways of learning your flaw so you can improve on them. I may not have the game, but I am thinking about getting it cause I watched a play through of this and seeing all these characters makes me remember the old days. I think they need to make a Sequel that has much more to choose from, like the Eds or Adventure time or Regular Show.

I agree that the villains are way overpowered. You can chalked that up to mostly because they were originally just bosses in the 3DS version, and the developers didn't bother to nerf them when they made them playable in this version. This is a problem I've seen a lot in these types of games, Digimon Rumble Arena 2 does this even worse.

theres a refrence to street fighter II if you win with Samurai Jack sometimes he'll say "You Must Defeat My Dragon Punch To Stand a chance" which is Ryu's misstranslated line in Street fighter 2

They Didn't add Characters such as Finn and Mordecai because the game was meant for old CN Characters

captain falcon was a bounty hunter though so he probably can fight, and fox knows martial arts apparently.
I don't know if you know this but the voice actor for Dexter, she died late last year. I believe it was December 14th I might be wrong about the date

Second: I've never played Brawl or any game like it. But I love cartoon network and a lot of the characters, also I seem to enjoy fighting. Now I'm wondering if I should get the game or not. Because I'm still not sure if I am going to like it.
The 3DS version came out in 2011, and the console version in 2012. Adventure Time and Regular Show both premiered in 2010. Adventure Time is jointly owned between Cartoon Network and Channel Federator, so CN would have to pay Federator for the rights to use Adventure Time characters in the game. Cartoon Network probably didn't think the game would sell enough to pay the fee.
Regular Show, Edd Ed & Eddy, and Courage are owned by Cartoon Network so I'm not sure why they're missing.

From what I saw here, this game actually looks sort of fun. It does stink that some of the cast members couldn't reprise their roles from the show. Good review.
I really wished they would make a new one with all the problems fixed and all the trainers up to this point it would be bad ass

I haven't played this game, but the concept looks awesome!! Gimme Space Ghost, Blip the Wonder Monkey, Thundarr (with Ooklah as a power up) and throw in the Herculoids sorry I'm old school! I agree with Adamant they need the Edd's and Courage as well.
I've actually thought of this topic, like instead of having characters like Chowder and Flapjack they could have characters like Robin from Teen Titans or Finn from Adventure Time
If they make a sequel to the game, it needs all the ones in this one, Courage, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Evil Con Carne, Batman, Looney Tunes, Toonami, Generator Rex, Scooby Doo, Lazlo, Megas, and all those other guys.

The game is broken, but you do have to admit it is interesting to have final smashes based on skill rather than "Who is a heavy weight who instantly breaks the smash ball"
it's because:cartoon network has a hundred of characters,and who's want to play a game with a LOT of characters.so they decide to choose the most famous and classics to the character crew
yeah I would love a game like this with all the cartoon network francises. Cartoon Network Racing on the DS was actually kinda fun for what it was, but it didnt have all the characters I would have like to have seen either( although the Eds are present, so world hungers half solved :P)
I would instantly buy this if they had all those missing characters you mentioned, especially Megas XLR.

Really good review! I remember seeing this but never trying it, and now...I'm kind of sad I didn't. Even if the game's not spectacular, you pointed out a lot of things that make me feel like I missed out, like the costumes and characters. Even if some of the voices are...yeech.
I really wish they have more people to work on this game who are interested in the idea.

Nice work Steven. I really liked this review. I wish they at least were more accurate with things like the voices and did a better job with the characters. Captain Planet fits less than Ben 10. And the Eds have been around and stuck around for longer than any of the other characters on there. All in all, I hope you can get around to doing more reviews (and if this game has a sequel, get rid of Flapjack).
