Unbelievable how he's so comfortable and fluent in such a difficult language that he took up as an adult. I feel it would be equally difficult to learn English considering all of the crazy rules we have. Natural for us, hard to explain to others. Marty's book brought me here. Excellent read BTW.
I don't think foreigners can judge, but it's not fluently. Just like "r" for Japanese people, Americans cannot pronounce Japanese perfectly. But Japanese people don't make fun of it like Americans do.
I agree with Marty when he's saying the subtitle can let a foreigner understand meaning but its more enjoyable when Mayu sings in Japanese. She's more comfortable that way, she can focus on expressing the lyrics the way they're intended instead of worrying about pronouncing an English word correctly or if she's using it in the right context. She's gifted enough as a singer where she can communicate emotion through her voice to the point you don't even need to understand the words because you're feeling it.
I like the Japanese lyrics! It’s easier for her to sing them from her heart instead of trying to concentrate on proper English. Keep doing what she’s doing would be my advice. We love Nemophila either way!! Saki is so beautiful!
Agree that is a big misconception here as singing in English is no necessary. Even though the effort is appreciated as was the case in Babymetal's "The One" performance all these years ago. As fans know this was a tribute for all the support & came from the heart. Some may also not know that Takayoshi Ohmura (Kami Band) plays in Marty Friedman Japanese band. 🙀💕 Love nephophilla though and it's really cool seeing them in this context and can't wait to see them live in concert. Marty is so humble & love seeing him speak in Japanese. He would make such a great english teacher though. It makes me wish I studied harder in school & not been such a slacker lol. Great Series!!! 🤘🦊💕
Thank you for your understanding. Yes. English pronunciation is complicated for us, and I bet everyone trying to speak English then thinks, “why can't.” I think It's an eternal problem.
But not all foreigners are like you. There are a lot of comments and videos calling it "engrish" and making fun of it. Some people don't like being called that. And this issue should have nothing to do with women or men. It's your personal fetish if that's relevant.
@novrinkov0053 grow up! Go cry somewhere else. Didnt realize thinking the way someone talks is cute, was a fetish! GTFOH! It works both ways dipshit! Asian, Spanish guys and girls also think it's cute when. English speakers try and speak their language! You're part of the problem! Might as well join the haters!
Bravehearted by Lovebites sounds better in Japanese to me. It's like Asami's voice is less "restrained" and has more "room". I don't mean her pronunciation but her vocals. Something just sounds better when she sings that song in Japanese
gotta agree with marty here. If the song is written in japanese, sing it in japanese. it just doesnt flow correctly when it's translated. Listen to the english versions of rauta or 99 red balloons. they just dont work even with perfect translations
Hello and thank you for your comment. But proper technique to play guitar uses the tips of your fingers to push down on the fretboard. Fingerprint would be making a copy of the unique patterns of your finger. Law enforcement would take a fingerprint of someone.
@@rockvoicetranslation When you play guitar, the skin on your fingertips gets thicker and harder (keratinzed). This bump of thick skin is called a callus. The expression of fingerprints on the parts of the callus can diminish or disappear. That's loss of the fingerprint what they are talking about in the video. If you don't believe me, look up the word that is spoken ("shimon", 指紋) in the dictionary. Fingertip is "yubisaki", 指先.
Imo bands should never feel forced to sing in a foreign language.. Like Rammstein are one of the best examples, although it is far easier for english speakers to repeat German than it is with Asian languages.. I would say just make very clear vocal lines in certain songs that anyone can learn.. People know "Hello" and "Thank you" in a lot of languages because we hear it so often.
Love Friedman and some of the guitarist in Japan so I actually watch these a lot without translation...this episode makes so much more sense now, especially the right and left...lol
Yes, but foreigners always call it "engrish" and make fun of it. Not all foreigners are as kind as Marty. Sometimes they even say racist things. Americans even say, "Speak English first!"
No problem, DEFINITELY NO NEED TO SING IN ENGLISH, the Japanese lyrics are perfectly fine. Anyone expecting or requesting the lyrics to be sung in English is a fool. (I’m being polite) What’s next, English speaking bands going on tour overseas and singing in German, Icelandic, Indian ??????
It’s not like rammstein does much of anything in english, and some of the folk metal stuff as well It’s part of the cultural identity and I am fine with non-english languages But honestly dutch shit just kind of sucks

I think the "R" & "L" is one of the biggest dilemmas for Japanese.
Marty did a great job explaining & teaching Mayu.
Marty is a huge flirt lol
😂
Foreign women adore men that took the time to learn their language
he's telling the truth tho
Hearing Marty speaking fluent Japanese is quite the experience.
Damn Marty! Crazy hearing him speak so fluently ! 🍻
still fucking trash after living there for years

Thank you so much for the translation! SAKI is gorgeous and Mayu´s laugh is the one cuttest thing in the world. Kawaii overload!
We are glad you enjoyed the video!
Correct!
"guitarists lose thier finger tips when theuy get good". ma man Tony Iommi ascended to legend status he literally lost his finger tips.
Thanks for the translation
Thanks for saying so. I got more motivation! ありがとう😊
@@rockvoicetranslation There's not of Nemophila content that is not translated. Keep up the good work
Well this is cute.
My man Rick Beato led me here. This shit is wild. Marty is awesome.
I love when she does the metal “RIGHT!!!” 🤘
Saki watching Mayu struggle with English is funny since we know Saki herself can speak English.
the host looks like the Japanese version of Gary Numan
Thanks for translation
My pleasure 😇

That was cute.
I love the accent asian girls have when trying to speak English. There is no need for mayu to change a thing.
Thank you for your understanding.

Saki is beautiful!!! Mayu is also very cute, and such a perfectionist!! 😊❤❤
I always prefer it when vocalists sing in their native language but in that case I’m also very grateful for an english translation of the lyrics!

The woman with the guitar is a cutie!
They are a music group, not models.
To foreigners, they seem to be seen as just women rather than a music band. They probably hate that the most.

指紋 (shimon) というのは、「fingertip」ではなく、むしろ、「fingerprint」になります。
「print」= 印刷・押捺 すろこと。指紋を印刷するからそう呼ばれます。
「fingertip」の意味は、「指先」です。「tip」は、細長い物の先。
「助言」や「暗示」の意味もあります。それと、「酒代」などの「チップ」の意味。
ギーターで指先を無くすはずないです。それはグロテスク。www
