*I have to edit my comment to add that, goddamm, this beat gave me Nine Inch Nails vibe. Holy F....* This song has such a strangely seductive energy. The beat distortion doesn't bother, but it's not pleasant to hear either. And yet, IT'S SIMPLY ADDICTIVE! The vocals match PERFECTLY with the weirdness of the instrumental. The metaphor of the lyrics remains perfect, a trademark of the group. *Overall, is a very oddly alluring song. Is like a feeling itself.* The choreography is AWESOME. It is strong, bold, sharp, sensual and in the style of the group. The MV is apparently simple with this POV camera, but this point of view can open the door for some interesting interpretations. The photography is beautiful *The boys continue to shine in this mature, sensual and experimental concept. What an original and talented group. In my opinion, they are THE BEST group of this 4th generation because their music aesthetic is so damn singular and professional. And they are so fucking BOLD to say out loud things that should be said by adults. And they support that attitude. THIS IS SO ADMIRABLE within a music genre square, standardized and mentally limited as kpop (unfortunately).* *WHAT A GREAT GROUP!* I'm glad to be a fan. ps: KB, Nine and Rie... Let me breath!
Yep, you worded it perfectly. I can't put my finger on it, but all I know is pretty much anything they put out is addiction for me. I'm not even gonna go near the way they MOVE IN THEIR VIDEOS!! Holy hell.
THINA!!! You were the one I wanted to see this react to this video. I've heard the song a half dozen times now and I can't quite settle into it, and it still feels chaotic. Experimental is absolutely a great way to put it. I watched a live stage first, and man, that's an experience! Have a look at some of them if you can. I'm thrilled for them to be making a comeback, but I'm also worried about them being misinterpreted, or maybe just facing backlash for the types of things they do. They're all so talented that paying attention to them is a huge waste, so I hope that maybe curiosity brings more people to their fandom who can appreciate them for their unique style. They seem to be filling a space that has existed, but it might still be too fringe to find mainstream "acceptance." Can they do catchy things that just stick in your head or need to be an OST? Sure. But they're also capable of blowing your mind vocally, lyrically, and absolutely in visuals, MV and in choreography. I adore them so much. Thanks for your reaction! lyOns forever. ♥
there's something so alluring about this one and the way it feels so raw and hard yet there's a lot of smoothness in it!!! they really mastered this concept and are expanding their creative side, it's very captivating to watch them! and that ending with yoojung and mill 🗣️ they bias and bias wrecked me all at once and I'm very thankful for that lol
I LIVE for thina going on OGOnlyOneOfStan mode lol that little promotion on the intro was everything and all straight up FACTS!!!! these boys really put out some of the most interesting, diverse and creative projects out there and deserve so much more!
One thing I love about their video is how it pulls the viewer in, and makes them part of it all during the colour segments. It's filmed as if it's our eyes, the POV perspective, OOO include us in this message and song. FYI, I'm sure someone's already mentioned it in the comments but under their video they've written "Scene 2. skinz It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter whether you are black, white, Hispanic, Asian, male, or female. I’m saying that your mere skin doesn’t matter. All that matters is you." Whether they're talking generally, or addressing LyOns specifically I don't know, and tbh it doesn't matter because it's a beautiful message anyway.
Kinda like you said, the concept for the libido and skinz mv’s is not a gimmick for them. It’s really just about expressing very natural feelings in an artful way. There’s nothing fake or doing it for the shock factor about it.
libidO was my top played song of 2021 on Spotify too! So glad you listened to the rest of their discography as well. Please check out some of their other dance practices (like dOra maar), their dance covers (Savage, Don’t Stop Now, Malamente), and their takes on other songs (Money, Dolphin, the 7th Sense). SO GOOD. I have to say I didn’t love skinz, but you’re right, it was very experimental, and that’s ok.
I can totally feel you, when i know about OOO and their music, they became no1 on my spotify with picassO. And the part when you said they're not shy to experience new things and not affraid to try sensual aspect is- I KNOW RIGHT THATS WHY I STAN THEM
Skinz made me too stunned to speak at first listen tbh, I was confused in a good way sonically and the visuals smooth, sensual, sweet and Mildly energetic that I'm everywhere. A kind-of Low-key powerful and dirty sounding its amazing. I was transported You could say it was disgustingly great.
Same, girl. 2nd year in a row that one of their title tracks was my top song on Spotify. And here they are gunning for year 3! This latest album is excellent.
thank you so so much for this video!! OnlyOneOf is really one of the most underrated groups out there and more people should really appeciate their craft more.
I was waiting for this reaction!! I feel you I was watching this with my friend and we were chatting about the MV and all and we started lagging lol I've never heard a song like this in kpop! Like you said is so experimental but it doesn't lack cohesiveness? If that makes sense! Because sometimes I feel like experimental sounds disjointed to me, but this feels like an actual song!
Love your reaction 💜 they are definitely one of a kind. Also please don’t think your being annoying with the pauses. It gives you time to really enjoy/understand what’s going on and convey your feelings without talking over the track 😊
They are my ultimate! This video trips me out. The whole concept. There is no group like them! Yeah, 1st thing every morning is the new stage! The choreo for this song tho! I can't stop watching it! Plus, Dom Junji! I mean...ok, let me quit!
Respectfully lol I’m lucky if I’m not drooling by the time I finish watching. Really enjoyed your take on the mv and the guys in general. Will be subbing and sharing this to a lyOn fb group.
Omg, I'm so thankful to you for making a reaction video in their comeback mv 🤗🤗🤗 there are a lot of parts that kill me. When I watched their mv, I can't help but scream and I keep pausing the video and rewinding it hahaha
A new music video of suit dance and another version of skinz were uploaded on their official account. Those are rly amazing. Hope u can react to them. Thx!
The best way I can think of this group is mature - They aren't "G" rated, they are pushing an "R", but not in a nasty way. Their music and their vibe is mature and edgy. These are the guys I could picture throwing a kegger party on a beach somewhere and streaming it live without fear. Does that make sense? They just come across as grown men who have their own genre of music, and it's not honestly KPop. LOL
There's something about the MV that gives me a feeling of unease, because at first scene our point of view is from a person who is watching the guys in an almost stalker way. Then they start inserting "you" into their daily lives, but it's still weird. And at the end, the clip ends with the same scene of them getting into the car and "you" stalking. It's uncomfortable. And at the same time, I believe it's a criticism of this obsessive disease that people have in stalking idols and wanting to be part of their personal life.
Thina! Heyy! I’m a new subscriber and I love watching you just geek about our faves. I became a lyOn recently too. Have you seen gaslighting choreography video? You should check it out? (You probably have lol) and there’s solo projects now! You think you could react to one or two? Maybe not since there’s no dance haha. 💗💗💗
The MV editing was like too fragmentary. Switch suddenly from gathering around beach scenes to dance on dark stage scenes, no obvious connection between scenes. 8D earned a lot from Instinct part 1, but it seems like 8D did not invest much on instinct part 2.
100% agree. The dance scenes didn’t fit into the rest of the video. Absolutely no cohesiveness. 8D has been absolutely terrible about handling the situation with Love. I’m not surprised they don’t have their shit together for this CB. I love OnlyOneOf so much. They deserve better!
The lack of cohesion in the video matches the discordant feel of the song. I think they were going for a very fragmented style of video, though I can see why some wouldn't like it.
@@xxmidnightmoonglowxx If you want to back it up, you can always find any reasons to back it up. That is the beauty of literature. I think it is easy to distinguish between low quality MV vs high quality but deliberately make it fragmentary.
@@user-cr8bd9qk1r a music VIDEO isn't literature so first of all I'm not sure what point you're trying to make there. Secondly, all art is subjective and any 'reasons' as to why I think it is good, will ultimately make no difference to someone who dislikes the source material. I don't think its fair at all though, to suggest it's low quality. The company has actually taken a chance with the groups experimental style. They could have created music and MVs that are more mainstream and derivative, which would have been a better financial decision. They chose instead to go with something that will likely not be highly favoured by most casual listeners, as an artistic choice. And the individual snippets and scenes in the video are shot and edited very well. Someone spent a lot of time colouring and editing them and a director had to make the decision to have a non-cohesive style of video, the company isn't saving money by not making a video against a greenscreen or in a single location. In fact, the multiple filming locations probably added to the cost as it takes longer to film. So regardless of whether you personally liked it, it still took time, effort and money to produce. It's down to the viewers individually whether they feel it holds value or does a good job illustrating the themes of the song, but it can never be said to be objectively bad.
