I think it’s amazing that she encourages her horse to focus and tells him well done when he does it well and says it’s okay when he makes mistakes. Best display of horsemanship.
Watching this, I’m totally blown away by Munson’s speed and endurance. Show jumping may not have been his favorite, but boy, he was bred and born for cross-country. What a dude as you said!
Always makes my heart happy to see Munson eat the land up and enjoy it like the Slew he is 💜 he clearly loves being part of a team with you, which speaks volumes
I don't think I have ever watched a GoPro video of someone that: - notices their error and apologizes to the horse, taking full responsibility of that fail - encourages their horse to stay focused - appreaciates the efforts the horse made - praises their horse so often And I think that makes you to the best horse owner I have seen yet c:
Absolutely love to see riders talk to their horse like this, they don’t understand most of the things but they certainly understand the tone of the voice. This horse knows he’s a good boy and they seem to have an extremely close bond. Absolute GOALS 😭❤️
Good boy, Munson! He was so brave. He dove over that giant defensive crab and into the water like he does it every day before breakfast. Well done. Great ride!!!
Awesome round. Munson was a super star for you today, especially over that crab at the water. He’s come a long way in his confidence there! Great looking jump, one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing your horses with all of us.
My goodness, he's a machine! What a gorgeous boy. So cool to see the course from your perspective; I'm watching the 5* right now. I live in Baltimore so you are in my neck of the woods. Welcome!
I used to have an off the track thoroughbred and she always ran mad. That's the only way I can explain it. Ears flat back like she was ready to kill. Amazing what you can do with them. Good job.
I love how his ears are always up. He’s so focused and alert to everything. ❤️ You also take credit for everything you do, mistakes and all. I love that. Keep doing you! ❤️
I am so impressed with you both, I saw this course on the cross country app with course designer Ian Stark and those jumps are massive as is the drop off. I was worried for Munson and his stamina (never should have been) when you were still on the down hill. How big is he? from my laptop I guessed around 16hh but after seeing him on this course he’s gotta be taller. Ps: My bad, just went back and watched his run again 16hh exactly.
Even the experienced average horse person would not know how exceptional this mount rider combination is The two of you are truly special The indurance focus and reguired communionication between you is amazing Truly exceptional I am in awe Congratulations to you both
Yes... Munson!!! Elisa..what a great ride. It had it's scary moments but WOW!! I would say water is not to much of a problem anymore!! I love this boy!! I still think "long" is a wee bit too long! Thanks for sharing . This was very exciting!!! Safe rides always!! 🤗🤗🏇🏇
And here's me having heart failure at nearly every humungous jump, while I'm sitting comfortably on my bed with my laptop in front of me. You had to actually live it and ride it. INCREDIBLE!
Wow Munson has come so far, I think this was the course he spooked and nearly impaled himself on the rope pole last time?, he had wings this time!.Water, people, dog barking didn't miss a beat. Amazing work.
Yay Munson!! Wow what a course!!! As someone who has spent a lot of time in Maryland, that Crab jump is everything !! He is SO FAST I always think that, but on this course - booking it like his granddaddy!❤️❤️
Ah! Coming across your video is so neat!! I'd never seen a 5* except on tv lol, but I got to attend this. Watching you and every rider there knock it out with their absolute best was the coolest thing to have witnessed. I remember seeing Munson. What a gorgeous powerful boy he is!
Every rider needs to speak to their horse like this. Absolutely amazing. You can tell he loves his job, him galloping and going overall fast even when she’s not asking him to. He’s a beauty. Truly special. ❤
And u can also tell that she's in jockey position if u look at her shadow. It gives them the signal to go faster. And if u listen carefully u can hear her whip once or twice
@@HungerGamesLover101 Ahh yes that is completely true but most riders just naturally do jockey/half seat so they are lighter on the horses back. I think that she only whips him once or twice to get the right spots on the jumps, plus I’m pretty sure that she just lets him gallop with her reins slightly loose for the grassy parts. You’re completely correct though, she probably does kick/crop the horse a couple times.
It's so nice to see so much compassion in how you speak to him. The way you talk to a horse is a reflection of what you think when no ones around and hence how you act and I really would like to see more of that in the equestrian community. Considering how many abuse videos are out there and the amount of abuse that still isnt recognised and exposed but we all know goes on. There are so many coaches and riders who abuse their horses and when expose issue an apology and move on, not good enough in my opinion. So this is a fresh splash of water to see. He does hear you and he tried so hard for you. Both of you did amazing, I take my hat off to brilliant horsemenship and absolutely fantastic teamwork. 👏🌸 please keep it up.
I love these! It might seem weird but when I’m watching these I pretend I’m in the saddle, no kidding 😭 I do the jumping position, lean back on the canter, even the heels down 💀 save me please I’m going mad
You are incredible and this video made my day while I'm stuck with food poisoning. The crab was honestly one of my favorite cross country fences ever 😆
I think it’s amazing that she encourages her horse to focus and tells him well done when he does it well and says it’s okay when he makes mistakes. Best display of horsemanship.
❤❤❤❤❤
hey! how do you manage all the pressure and adrenaline??
I think all rider should talk to there horses like this❤️
That was such good communication and so sweet! Good job you two!
I do that and I agree
Yes I do it and I totally 💯 agreee
I love that he flicks an ear back after every effort to see how he did :) wicked run, great job to you both!
Holy cow! Boy's FAST! Damn, he really stepped up to this, incredible job!
Święta krowa ?
@@jessicapielech4901 it’s just a saying, basically meaning ‘wow’, or ‘that’s impressive’
So honest. That horse has enjoyed every minute. How dare anyone call this cruel.

i saw the crab jump on facebook and couldn't help but laugh XD
It looks really cute.
Same! I honestly thought it just looked like a crab because I was sick and overly tired. Then I realised, "No, that actually is a crab", lol.
its scarily funny
Welcome to Maryland, where Lacrosse is the unofficial state sport, you can buy ANYTHING with a crab on it, and Jousting rules are taught in schools.
I saw it on #shiteventersunite 😬
Watching this, I’m totally blown away by Munson’s speed and endurance. Show jumping may not have been his favorite, but boy, he was bred and born for cross-country. What a dude as you said!
This course looks incredibly draining and difficult. Well done!!
Might not have been the cleanest but man, it was beautiful how much he was having fun and just taking on the challenges! 🥰😍
Love this horse. Your horses have gotten so focused and strong. This was a scary run to me but you slayed it.👍🙏
Munson is going faster and faster since he first started! So cool to watch his growth. He is determined.
Nice to have this perspective after watching you go on the live broadcast. What absolute bravery and talent - Incredible round! Congratulations!!
can I stream the live broadcast somewhere now? :D
USEF should have a recording of it still posted on its website.
Ears foward the whole time, You encourage him so much! Can tell your a proud rider and love him. Loved watching this
The rider and the horse remind me so much of Toothless and Hiccup specially with the "come on buddy!!"
You can realy tell they both love what they do, and props to the amazing rider who care’s amazingly for there horse ❤❤❤
Always makes my heart happy to see Munson eat the land up and enjoy it like the Slew he is 💜 he clearly loves being part of a team with you, which speaks volumes
The grandson of Seattle Slew ran a great round yet again! He is amazing!
Is he the grandson of Seattle Slew 😳 That explains

What an intense course; some of those combos came up fast and furious. Great job and well done.

i absolutely love how she respects her horse and shows nothing but love and praise💕💕💕
I loved at the beginning how you said « it’s alright, my fault » because some people just don’t talk to their ponies
My goodness, he's a machine! What a gorgeous boy. So cool to see the course from your perspective; I'm watching the 5* right now. I live in Baltimore so you are in my neck of the woods. Welcome!
Welcome
I love how confident you and your horse are! A good definition of horsemanship.
I used to have an off the track thoroughbred and she always ran mad. That's the only way I can explain it. Ears flat back like she was ready to kill. Amazing what you can do with them. Good job.
It looks like Munson and Sharpie both enjoyed their tour of the new Fair Hill XC! Great job. Go get'um tomorrow!
I love watching his happy ears and how one flicks back when. You say "good boy".
I love how his ears are always up. He’s so focused and alert to everything. ❤️ You also take credit for everything you do, mistakes and all. I love that. Keep doing you! ❤️
Loved the way his ears constantly swiveled back to get confirmation from her??
He sounds like a freight train! And the crab! He soared over the crab even with the water on the other side!! Good job Munson !
The endurance on this horse is CRAZY!
I am so impressed with you both, I saw this course on the cross country app with course designer Ian Stark and those jumps are massive as is the drop off. That was a freaking amazing ride. That horse just eats up the ground, so fast. Tuff course, Amazing job, both! Triple Cheers! ❣️🍀
He really stepped up to the plate there... lovely to watch, especially the crab water complex - very testing. Well done, great teamwork!
I love how she takes the blame for mistakes she does and doesn’t just say it’s the horses fault
No hesitation into the scary Crab water! Really good job...
He is really fast!!! Wow!! It takes a really good rider with good control over their horse to do something like this, good job!!
This is just so fun to watch and especially that she knows that it’s not the horses fault when it makes mistakes
I love watching these videos, seeing the happy ears and the want to run and jump from the horses is so cute
When you see the crab jump is when you KNOW you’re in Maryland 🤣

Wow munson really flew around that course! I remember when he used to stop at the water, he has so much confidence now.
Wow! Your boy has got the zoomies! I would love to try eventing one day! You did an amazing job!!😄🥰

Different course. Don’t remember which one, but this was the first time this course has ever been used, so it wasn’t the same one.
Yup that’s a good ol’ throughbred! He’s super fast and has tons of stamina! 😮
It was so fun to actually be able to watch you today! Good luck in SJ tomorrow!

Very long and hilly course but very well done! Definitely a very testy event.

Your right but just saying she probably was asking him to go fast using seat.,her whip or her legs
And u can also tell that she's in jockey position if u look at her shadow. It gives them the signal to go faster. And if u listen carefully u can hear her whip once or twice

Having a Thoroughbred is a huge advantage! He has both stamina and speed!
He is such a good boy!
Munson Slew has a whistle in his breathing ❤️ I would be tempted to pace with his breathing.
Excellent Job Elisa + Munson Slew job well done.
She's aware of this and he's fine. Unless you're a vet I don't think she needs your advice

So sad I’m missing this in real life! Had to work this weekend or else I’d drive up there to see you. Good luck!
I love how this horse is always asking if he is right with his ears. Such a nice horse!
