For being an elected official of the world's most populous democracy he sure is chummy with dictators. The cynic in me thinks it's just "real politik" and self interest. The skeptic in me thinks.....Modi has autocratic aspirations.
Modhi is considered to be an extremist Hindu nationalist bordering on fascist. He would love to take India down an antidemocratic path, similar to what Putin has done. All world leaders supporting Putin (including Orban) are antidemocratic.

2 great leaders
There are many efforts going on to donate cars/trucks to Ukraine. One brave individual I happen to follow is Brandon Mitchell. (Known to Telegraph reporters) He might be able to give advice to those young ladies on the hunt of a school bus. Or might just be a source of ideas and experience.
I think there are so many grassroots initiatives. But they all work parallel and not in a network. Perhaps for those who are not able to travel to have a first person look on things to acquire to set up a network would be a valuable thing to do.

Issue is nuclear non proliferation. Many of the democracies accepted US security guarantees in exchange for signing on to nuclear non- proliferation. Ukraine did the same, it had nuclear weapons but got rid of them in exchange for US guarantees.
If the US's guarantees no longer hold good, many countries including the democracies when confronted with a nuclear armed aggressor intent on their destruction, will have to arm themselves accordingly.
Nuclear bombs will become just another item traded on the world's international arms bazaars. Sooner rather than later the crazies will get hold of them, and the world will become a far more dangerous place including for the US. Imagine 9/11 with a 50 kiloton nuke cobbled together in a middle east arms factory.v
